Gun Control - Douglasville, GA

I carry a firearm most every where I go and my plan is to NEVER have to use it. What many people who are against handguns do not realize, is the tremendous responsibility that goes with using one. I could go to jail and lose my permit if I display my handgun without just cause. I am totally responsible for the bullet which leaves my handgun regardless of the situation. If you are uncomfortable with handguns and the responsibility, fine, don't buy or carry one. On the other hand, I am, and I do not appreciate any attempt to prevent me from exercising my constitutional rights because of their fear.  (Sep 25, 2010 | post #11)

Corkie

Mary spent the last month in ICU fighting the results of a burst ulcer. She fought a good fight, but finally succumbed to infection and her body shut down. The cause of death was sepsis.  (Jun 4, 2010 | post #9)

What is tree stand for?

Deer can be very profitable. If you put fifty female pigs with fifty male deer, you have immediately one hundred sows and bucks.  (Mar 24, 2010 | post #23)

My ding dong is too big

I think your solution to ding dong length would be to post a sign near your doorbell telling people to only press the button once. Perhaps you could buy a digital one that would limit the duration of both the ding and dong.  (Mar 20, 2010 | post #12)

Gun Safety - Attention "Mr America"

You are absolutely correct in removing your children. From what you wrote, they are breaking some of the basic firearm rules. 1 never point any firearm at anything you do not intend to shoot. 2. whenever a firearm is transferred from one individual to another it should be unloaded and the chamber checked by both people. 3. Firearms must be in the Control of the owner when in the and not just lying around. These people are probably quite confident in the way they handle firearms, but wrong. I doubt that you will be able to convince them otherwise. People die from the way they handle firearms. Don't ever put yourself or your children in that situation. Sorry, but there should be no tolerance in this.  (Jan 23, 2010 | post #2)

Who was the most famous person you've met?

Louis L'Amour. Like talking to your favorite uncle. I think I'll be rereading one of his books the day I die. Met John Travolta and was glad my office was only one floor away.  (Jan 10, 2010 | post #28)

Really, I must commend you on your badside manner. Next time you Goggle a subject to pretend you are something, I would suggest you read it. Oh, by the way "many people" is not a quantifiable data point. Now as to someone "holding up their end and getting off the asses" is either redundant or physically impossible. You can stop telling us how well informed you are unless it is yourself you are trying to convince. This is kinda fun, but mean spirited.  (Dec 10, 2009 | post #76)

Really Are you Kidding Me, It is indeed an honor to be in the presence of sommeone of you great intelligence. As a matter of fact I would indeed like to be in your physical presence when you choose to include my wife in your ill informed rant about Douglas County citizens. Also your unsubstantiated 75% figure could use some of your straight facts. Actually that means you have only 3/4 insulted me. Tell you what, I'll tie one arm behind my back and just use 3/4 of my appendages to whip your uniformed little butt. But don't worry, I am 67 years old and you must be at least 12. To the rest of the people here, I apologize. My intent has always to take the high road, but this person sorta pushed my buttons.  (Dec 10, 2009 | post #73)

HWY 92 NEW NUDE club coming --2010

I'm not sure, but you guys thinking about using dollars better be careful what you're asking for. Even back in my wild nautical youth, a dollar would get you a look at something that would scar you mentally for life. I know, it happened to me in the sixties.  (Dec 9, 2009 | post #87)

No Apologies from the BOE: Chair Smug as Ever

If you want to know how the board runs, read the way this thread is running. There are lots of accusations and very little fact finding or giving. This is pretty much how things runs, only none of us are spending, or greedily taking, the counties (us) money. I recently went to three Douglasville City Council Meeting and was incredibly disgusted. The manor in which the board, as a unit, behaved was personal and snippy. There are concerned members, autocrats, arrogant leaders, and the dysfunctional ELECTED to this Council. As a group they may be on par with the average middle school student council. As for the BOE, we need a zero tolerance policy for weapons of fiscal irresponsibility. Now that I have joined this discussion, it is revealed that I ain't no smarter than no one else.  (Dec 9, 2009 | post #15)

Went to visit the Dear Doctor again today. They have a new rule: "No credit cards will be accepted for payments under $40.00. They already have a $l.50 extra fee for credit cards and checks so why is this? We also waited an hour after our appointment time. What can I charge him for my time?  (Dec 4, 2009 | post #55)
