i know someone who was seeing doctor at an orlando clinic. this person was in real pain and was being helped tremendously by this doc. she is in her 50's and has many painful issues, including cancer amongst other maladies. well little did she know that "Dr. F" was writing scripts for an OCS for many (2 or 3) years. well, someone turned him in through the ANON tip line and he was arrested for writing to many pain meds. from what i hear, he had stopped working with OCS's at least a year or two ago and was just focusing on his brick and mortar practice and patients. at any rate, this poor woman is still fighting to get her records from big bro MONTHS later... and you dont get anymore legit than she was. i feel so bad for her. not only did they ruin this doctors practice/career, but left many, many legitimate older patients with terrible pain issues to suffer. These patients may be able to find a new doc to help, but no one will accept them without the records that are being held as evidence (HIPAA flies right out the window when LE gets involved). sure, they could be retested, get new MRIs, CT's, Blood-work, etc. but who on a fixed income can afford all of this, plus all the time and effort that goes into it is not easy when in so much pain. you get my point. it is not the 90's anymore. if it was, i would say come on down, you will be pain free. times are a changin, PMP is being put in place, docs are getting arrested and losing their licenses left and right, and idiots are making movies like "the oxycontin express" that in turn makes the entire country think that all you have to do is show up in florida with a decent story of why you have pain and every doc is going to throw hundreds of oxy at you. This could not be further from the truth. but believe what you want people. if you want to hop on a plane and come down here, at least get a place by the beach so your trip is not completely wasted. when you get turned away and or given motrin 800 with some flexeril to make it back to your home state, at least your joints wont be swollen and you wont have any spasms from all the NSAIDS and muscle relaxers. (which you can get online or OTC for a fraction of the price.) i could never understand why docs prescribe motrin 800 when you can just buy a bottle of 100+ ibuprofen (and take 4 to = 800mgs) for the same price you would get about 3 motrin 800s by prescription. Not to mention, NSAIDS tear up your stomach and intestinal tract if taken long enough, literally to the point of ulcers & bleeding and death in some cases if not caught early enough. it is my opinion that NSAIDS are more harmful to ones body than most every opioid without APAP when taken responsibly. only difference is you do not become dependent on ibuprofen, nor does it help with much pain unless we are talking dental pain, then i would take a motrin over an opiate any day. (actually a mix of one of each would be optimal, but ibuprofen/motrin and some antibiotics have always worked better on dental pain for most of the population - reduces the swelling, helps the aching pain, and the ABs clear up any infection, something that opiates will not due. unless you get vicoprofen and some antibiotics, that would be optimal for dental pain if you ask me) JMO mixed in with some facts... sorry about the novel. and let me guess bing, you may be able to get rid of some (to some poor sucker that actually asks for your email) i live in FLA and get the prescriptions i need as well. but i have so much documentation it looks like the yellow pages. doesn't mean that someone who drives down from indiana is going to get the same treatment you are. there are more variables to what you get prescribed than just "i live in florida and i have pain". everyone is different, not everyone has documentation going back years that they are in chronic pain, not everyone has MRIs, CT scans... etc yea, there may be a few crooked docs that will write for money, but they are everywhere, not just FLA. And good luck finding one of them. not only are you putting yourself in harms way as they could care less about your health and only want your money. not to mention, when they get busted, good luck getting your records from the DOJ/DE@.  (6 hrs ago | post #1419)

how many times are we going to see this stupid fake story. if it was true, you should be prosecuted for not going to the pharmacy and getting it filled. anyone that claims to have a legal script but has to buy illegally online for any myriad of reasons is full of shite. lets see, i dont want to pay cheap pharmacy prices, i would rather pay some faceless name on the internet to hopefully illegally ship me a SCH II narcotic for quadruple the price i could get them with no INS LEGALLY at the pharmacy. (makes a lot of sense) and 6 hours my A$$. i have been to pittsburgh, it takes 3 hours to drive the entire state of PA end to end. so i guess there are no pharmacies in PA? i once drove from ohio to upstate NY and it took me 5 hours. a parent can pick up any script they want if it is for their child. i don't care if it is a SCH II or not. quit posting this stupid shi†. not to mention, when someone is on a SCH II they usually get in a few days early each month to make sure everything is OK and you get your medication before it runs out. so use drugstore.com and it will be at your doorstep in 24 hrs. you wont even have to pick up your lazy A$$ and drive to that imaginary pharmacy that is six hours away to make sure your crippled daughter gets her script. (unless you live in a log cabin at the top of Mount Rainier and are using a proxy) i have never lived somewhere where there wasn't a pharmacy on every corner. and if you live out in the sticks, there is going to be a pharmacy closer than a few hours, i dont care where you are. if not, maybe you should open one and make a mint since there are no pharmacies within 360 miles of you. start taking better care of your imaginary daughter in the wheelchair, that should keep you off of these forums for a bit.  (8 hrs ago | post #19)

i would not waste your money. use it for the therapy. i have been in therapy for 2 years and i live in FLA. yes, i do get a prescription, but i have much more wrong with me than a bad knee. i wish it was only a knee! as someone posted above, now if you try to fill out of the county that your doc is, many will turn you away. most out of staters that are new and are not established with a doc here are going to get turned away. give it 6 months to a year, and unless you own property in FLA, all out of staters are going to get the boot. DE@ wants you staying local for pain mgmt, that is a fact. people will come back with the argument that it is not illegal to see a doc in another state. well we are not talking a cancer specialist at the cleveland clinic or something of the like. this is completely different. big bro wants people staying local for pain mgmt and that is that, in fact, us floridians may be screwed as well soon. so someone that comes down from up north these days is not going to have much luck no matter what your condition is or how many records you have. hence the propaganda video that has been posted 5 million times here. good luck with your issues, soon we will have to be on our death beds to get any decent relief in this country. sad, sad state of affairs. lets let coke, heroin and meth run rampant, but god forbid someone gets some pain relief with oxycodone.  (8 hrs ago | post #1414)

have you ever been pulled over in FLA? a guy spent 3 nights in jail for 2 loose aleve until the GCMS came back confirming it was ambien (as he said it was all along) not to mention aleve is OTC!. but the sheriffs refused to believe him and kept saying they were some kind of speed! they even did a field test on them and said it was an illegal drug of some kind, the prosecutor sent them off for GC/MS testing and it came back as Aleve so they let him go (After 3 days) it is in the paper if you look it up - very easy to find through google. not willing to take that chance with 5 different scheduled medications. 2 nights WDing and being in pain in the klink is not my idea of a good time.  (Friday | post #8)

a friend of mine lives in Guatemala, she will be able to get pain meds. but to stay safe i would see a local doc and get a script for a cheap price. if not, Midnight Express comes to mind. yikes... keep in mind, getting back on the boat from each stop, you basically have to go through customs every time you board from another country. so a bottle of medications with no prescription might be an issue. i saw a few people get arrested in the late 80's while boarding our ship leaving jamaica. (it wasn't for pain meds obviously) bringing them home is a whole nother issue. (unless she just plans on getting enough while there) if i am not mistaken, you can legally bring back a one month supply of medication if legally prescribed in the country one is visiting and declared when coming back through customs. any more than that and there may be some explaining and detaining going on. (might be best to look into that before attempting to do it) i am sure the info can be found at the DOJ website.  (Thursday | post #5)

this is correct. get your records ASAP (if they haven't already taken them) or you will be trying to get them from the DOJ/DEA and this will not be an easy task. it will take forever as well, because your records will be considered evidence. if they are pressing charges, everyones records will be gone through with a fine toothed comb to see if they can find instances of patients receiving medications that did not have the records or issues to justify the prescriptions.
