Thanks for sending me the link. I will definitely check it out. :-) (Mar 9, 2009 | post #207)
Thank You! I've only been here a short while and I was shocked to see all this bashing back and forth between BW and BM. We really need to stop and just come together. Hey I live up here in Seattle where the average BM doesn't give a BW a second look, and anyone who lives or is associated with the Pacific Northwest knows I'm telling the truth. But that is not going to make me come on here and bash black men in general. Feel me? I'm just saying, we have people on here pointing fingers when I have seen threads with BM and BW bashing each other. (Mar 9, 2009 | post #204)
I double Cosign on that because if you ask me, we are making ourselves look bad with all this going back and forth on who is bashing who. If I were a white person on the outside looking at this, I would be laughing my A$$ off on how ignorant we look. God guys, you are giving these people ammunition to use against us! And BTW I love my black men... :-) (Mar 9, 2009 | post #200)
Well said Warren...You are absolutely right! I would like to say thank you for your service to our country as well as all the Vets who have served and fought for America's freedom no matter what race they may be. I am a Vet and a proud one at that. I really appreciate the fact that we have the VA hospital and other services they offer. There are over 48 million Americans without healthcare in this country and that number is growing. Thank God for the VA because there would be many more Veterans without healthcare as well. We should all just be thankful that we have what we have and not go in there with an attitude because things could be alot worse. Remember, there are millions of men, women, and children out there with absolutely no access to healthcare and dieing everyday. We should always remember that the VA is a blessing for the Vets who use it because there is always someone who is a whole lot worse off than we are. As I said in my post previously and certainly agree with you...The problems at the VA have nothing to do with race. They are short on staffing and funding, but have to deal with the massive numbers of patients. (Mar 7, 2009 | post #12)
CORRECTION: Yes! Mack-the-Great has some really GREAT views and both "OF" you gave me alot to work with. Even though I didn't get many answers on to my topic this thread, the ones I got "WERE" QUALITY answers which are really appreciated. (Mar 5, 2009 | post #7)
Yes! Mack-the-Great has some really GREAT views and both odf you gave me alot to work with. Even though I didn't get many answers on to my topic this thread, the ones I got wer QUALITY answers which are really appreciated. I don't really know much on this issue, but this will definitely be something that I will be more conscious of because the gender roles in America are definitely changing. You brought up some really awesome points as well and as I do more research on this, I will definitely take all of your questions into consideration. So I am definitely not disappointed with the answers that came out of this thread. I have seen in my short time on topix that hardly anyone on here is interested in these types of subjects but are more interested in talking about race, sex, etc. But again I am very happy to be able to get some wonderful insight from two GREAT minds. Much respect to both of you, and your info was very helpful... Thanks, CeeCee (Mar 5, 2009 | post #6)
Thank you so much!!! :-) (Mar 4, 2009 | post #50)
I know that you really believe what you're saying, and don't get me wrong...I really respect the fact that you have no issues voicing your hatred of African Americans because you keep it real. I admire that. But again, there are alot of unqualified clerks of all races at the VA and if you believe that that these clerks should be fired and qualified people being hired, then there should be just as many white, latino, asian and black...yes I said it...black clerks being fired and hired. I look at the big picture. All blacks aren't ghetto, just as I believe all whites aren't racist rednecks. Again...I am a patient and I don't think that the problem at the VA is related to race at all. I think that with the influx of vets suffering from PTSD and other ailments as a result of all of the wars as well as other related military traumas, the VA just doesn't have the staff or funding to handle all of the patients. It has nothing to do with race. (Mar 3, 2009 | post #10)
Why is everything about race with you? Have you ever thought that maybe the clerks get nasty with you because you have a nasty attitude yourself. I have seen your comments on different threads and you are a bigot and a racist. Maybe these clerks know just how low-down and nasty you really are. As much as you would like to think, black people are not as dumb as you think. We know who likes us and who doesn't. This thread is supposed to be about how our Veterans feel that they either do or don't receive adequate care. I happen to go to the VA Med Ctr on Columbian Way and have never had a problem with anyone...white, black, or any other race. But everyone does not have a good experience when going there. I have to say that the service could be better in some areas but they are alot better than some of the VA Medical Centers I have been to in the south and other regions of the U.S. You just need to quit whining about blacks get over it!!! Unnecessary stress you're putting yourself through dguy. I can do nothing but feel sorry for your ignorance and closed mindedness. Oh what a shame!!! (Mar 3, 2009 | post #8)
Thank you for your insight Mack the Great...I really appreciate it. One question I do have is could the roles of men and women have changed for the simple fact that maybe women have had no choice but to switch roles due to broken families and less men in the household versus the way it was 40 years ago? I would think that would be the biggest contributor to women taking on more male dominated roles as well as the feminist movement. Women really didn't have a choice in the matter. They had to become more educated, and prove that they could do the things that men felt they couldn't or shouldn't be doing. I know that at one time women weren't able to vote and basically all the laws were created by men, but over time, couldn't just the changes in society over time and progression be the biggest factor. Does anyone have more insight on this? (Mar 3, 2009 | post #3)
Geez, the man has only been in office a good month and working hard to try to clean up the mess Bush made in 8 years. To be honest, Our economy is a mess and we are fighting a war we had no business fighting the first place (I'm a Veteran so I have very strong views on that issue)...Anyway, the hardworking American people are losing their homes, jobs, pensions...livelihood in general. These things really should be the biggest focus right now...Give the man a chance!!! (Mar 3, 2009 | post #5)
