Why I’m no longer a Christian

I believe God exists, but I also believe that there are many Gods. "He" may be the head honcho of them all... but who knows? I'm very spiritual, but not religious anymore. I'm very angry at Him for taking my daughter at the tender age of 19, when I have been wanting to 'go' since 15. WTF?! He has a crazy sense of humor!!  (Nov 14, 2015 | post #474208)

Why I’m no longer a Christian

Thank you Brian G. I am very spiritual, just no longer religious. I was raised in a very strict church, who believed in one God. I believe in many Gods. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I'll admit it, but who really knows? I just know that there is a higher power than myself. But this God that I was raised to worship, is no longer a 'friend' of mine. I am not denying his existence; just "the one and only true God".... oh... and btw; I do believe in an afterlife, and I will see my daughter again.  (Nov 3, 2015 | post #474139)

God?! I believe in a higher power, and maybe there is one single God in charge of it all. But maybe there are many God's. Ask for strength, and God sends you trials. God inflicts diseases on the kind hearted, and lets the "wicked" run free, and get away with there sins. My only daughter was taken from me at the tender age of 19. The murderer still runs free to perform her wickedness on others. My daughter was kind, sweet, compassionate, and loved children. God?! ... He's a hypocrite. The Bible contradicts itself in so many places. You want to follow the Bible? Then continue with the sacrifices, killing innocent animals and people! Tch!! God??!! What meaningful omnipotent just God would allow all this wickedness, disease and wars to continue in this world?! I'm done believing in this so called God. I believe in mother nature, spirits that guide us... maybe angels.... ...who actually knows?.... The bible was written by imperfect men who voiced their own opinions as to what they saw. It's a diary of imperfect men!  (Nov 2, 2015 | post #474123)

Unanticipated consequences? ".... that just goes to show how ignorant people truly are. Love is love.. no matter heterosexual or homosexual. You will find just as much hurt and pain, by abuse, in a hetero or homosexual relationship. The only unanticipated consequences that occur in a homosexual partnership, are from the ridicule and judgements of the ignorance of others.  (Dec 29, 2012 | post #525)

Do you really believe God cares? Im dead serious I want t...

I am new to this site, and I find most forums interesting. But I could not overlook this one. I was raised in a very religous home. Was told I had to go to church. Now my family prays for me, because I am the black sheep. However, with all this said; I do believe in a force or energy that thrives on posative thoughts and actions. Call it God if you will. Every church out there says they have the truth. tch! Personally, I think they all have touched on the truth, but noone has the single truth. That is where faith comes in. God is not human, therefore; alien. Something exists. You can see it in a sunset, a baby's smile, a hug, a kind gesture. Why does a person feel 'good' when actively particapating in kind gestures? I read a post earlier on the power of posative thinking. I believe in that. If there is a God, let Him be the judge. Not humans. We are all on this planet together, judging each other. To each his own, as long as he is not hurting anyone else. There is posative in everything! A post earlier stated they got coal and reindeer poo for Christmas. There is still posative. You can use the coal for heat, and the poo for furtilizing food to feed you. Sometimes you have to look deep, but there is always .. ALWAYS.. something posative! And if that is where God is found.. then I will meet Him there.  (Dec 27, 2012 | post #65)

"NatureLover " That was a very well thought out...It is good to be skeptical.. as God has said, "they draw near to me with their mouths, but their hearts ar from me"... being skeptical you have the intellect to question, instead of going thru life with a 'blind faith'. Who wants to be blind? I want to see what God has in mind. I want to see where I am going. If there is a God. Is He engergy?.. or a being?.. and if He is a being, He isn't human, for he does not live on this planet. Then how did He get here, and where did He come from? I was raised Mormon, and I have questioned the concepts of that religeon from the beginning. Am I still Mormon? Technically. On paper only. Do I believe in a God? Yes. Do I believe that He can be everywhere.. let alone in your heart? He himself no... if he has flesh and bone like the scriptures say. But aren't there humans that when you get in their presence you feel exhilerated? That is how I believe God is. You can feel His presence.. if you have the faith to open your heart, and give it to God. Is it then blind faith? In a sense yes, because you have not seen God. You have to trust, giving your griefs, pains, sorrows to Him. Nevermore to obsess over them, nor exerience them again. Don't forget, but give the pain to God, maybe that is why Jesus died on the cross. He took the pain, showing us that He can endure it. I hope I haven't offended you. I am a skeptic too, but I do believe in God and Jesus Christ. I myself fail at 'giving it to God'. Why do we as humans feel we need to hold on to our sorrows? Why do we need to own them? Sorry.. just food for thought....  (Dec 20, 2012 | post #428443)

Why Should Jesus Love Me?

What I have been taught is that Jesus' and God's love is unconditional. However, I am not sure I believe or understand that. Oh yes, I do believe in a God, and that Jesus Christ died on the cross-but for my sins?... hmph.. I guess that is the part I have a hard time understanding; because I am the one making the choices.. sin or not. He died on the the cross as a symbol to all that he is the Christ, and lived a spiritual and enlightening life. He taught mankind what he should do, right and wrong.. simple truths how to be happy. Having faith in Him and our Father in Heaven can lead to just such happiness.. but as the scriptures say; faith without works is dead. You need to put your faith into action, and He will guide you and fill your heart with His grace. There is a God. Look around, seeds had to have been planted for the trees to grow. The animals had to coming from a living entity. The planet is alive. Greenery.. soil.. trees.. it is all God's creation. Beauty in the finest. A single rose, is a thing of beauty. A leaf, a bush, even a rock. Everything has beauty in it. The scriptures say that everything that is good is of God. God is goodness. And what is Goodness? And how do you feel in this goodness? It is all of God, and His unconditional love for us.. even if we don't feel it at times. ....ok I will quit rambling. Thanks for 'listening'  (Dec 20, 2012 | post #471599)
