Moving Forward With A New Holy Father

Even with today's shocking news of The Holy Father's resignation, Roman Catholic evangelization must continue to move forward. Now is the time to reach out in a way that will bring a positive response. In yesterday's Gospel message, The Lord stood on a fishing boat telling those gathered, including those who would be disciples, that he would show them how to "fish for men" by going from village to village and spreading the Good News. How can you effectively 'fish for men' today? Person to person contact is less frequent. We are busy, rushed, tired. We work in cubicles with our heads down communicating on smart phones, tablets and computers. Too little time to reflect. Too little time for God. But those very mobile devices engrossing our society today are also the perfect "tools" for evangelizing---to encourage active Catholics and bring back inactive or fallen away Catholics, and those that don't have a church to call home. The modern day church has access to incredible evangelization tools. It can 'cast a net' using today's marketing technologies like text/picture or video messaging, Facebook, Twitter and the like to share the Good News, increase Mass attendance and thereby improve community worship and increase weekly collections. If you are looking for the best ways to cast your net, let's schedule a time to talk. We help Catholic Churches and organizations become successful "fishers of men". As WhizFish co-founders, we are active Catholics, Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist, and are involved with St. Vincent de Paul and other social justice programs that focus on the poor and downtrodden. I personally serve on the National Marketing Task Force for The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the world's largest Catholic lay organization. We are personally and professionally committed to the preservation and growth of the Roman Catholic Church and its beliefs.  (Feb 20, 2013 | post #1)
