wow! spanking is a great discipline tool if used correctly. i spank my child, i do not beat her. she gets a spanking for dangerous things like running into the street, touching the stove, etc. trying to ban spanking is ridiculous!!! next you will have to have a witness to change your child's diaper to ensure there is no sexual abuse< you wiped too much> (Nov 29, 2007 | post #36)

for me, no, i am not ready. there are still people that need me here, and that i feel i need. my daughter(3 yrs)and husband and my siblings and family. if, for some reason i was called home, then so be it. if He knocked on my door, wow, i would fall to my knees, and more than likely start weeping. i celebrate God everyday, and talk to others about Him. i feel that my relationship with God is fine and dandy, thank you! well, i do shop on black friday. i have my list of items i want to buy, then i go buy them. while i get the overconsumption that most americans partake in, if more people would budget and stick to the budget, it would be fine. i have 4 accounts. one is bills, savings, spending money, and emergency. i stick to my budget and am not in debt. but i do agree that, come january, most americans are waiting for their tax refund to get them out of the debt from the holidays (Nov 24, 2007 | post #14)

hmm teaching your child fear and pain is a reaction to wrong. there is a diffrence between a spanking and a beating. beating your child shows no self control, and abuse. a child should not fear their parent, and a parent should not use discipline as an excuse to take out their frustration on a child. in this particular situation, a spanking would not have been called for, maybe some understanding and trying to talk to your child would have been a better decision. this is really sad. people should learn how to use a gun and proper ways to load it, clean it, etc. before allowing a gun in their home. then maybe this could have been avoided. both me and my husband have taken gun safety classes BEFORE we brought our guns into the home. (Jul 23, 2007 | post #55)
