Projections: McConnell, Grimes to win in Kentucky

No matter how much Mitch hollers about Affordable Healthcare, he is the one who come from the Party who will not vote for extended unemployment benefits, will not vote for the minimum wage increase, will not vote to pass immigration, voted to reduce veterans benefits, voted down every infrastructure job bill introduced, voted against equal pay for women, voted to close down the government costing us $24 Billion "to prove a point" and helped push the war In Iraq costing us billions in revenue and thousands in lives. And he embraces the very Party that brought us to our knees with a depression. Affordable care was to help people! Big difference.  (May 21, 2014 | post #2)

Rick Scott

Crist leads Gov. Scott by 10 points in poll

My 46 year old daughter had heart surgery 3 years ago, a pace maker 2 years ago and then last year, got into a car accident breaking her neck. Just who do you think would have insured her? NO ONE. I finally talked her into signing up for Affordable Healthcare and within a week she had received her Blue Cross-Blue Shield Silver Plan. Based on her wages of $300 a week, she is paying less than $60 a month for her new insurance and this is not an HMO. Of course she had listened to all the lies about how awful it would be, how hard to get and how expensive it would be and even she says now they were all a bunch of liars. Rick Scott needs to go down for depriving Floridians the right to have decent, affordable healthcare!!!!!!!! !  (May 1, 2014 | post #4)

Davis dismisses issue of discrepancies in personal story ...

She did work at 14, she did live in a mobile home, she did get married very young after having a child and also divorced young. She is the first in her family to go to college and she did go to 3 colleges. She did raise her child alone for some time before marrying Davis. She did go to Harvard. And she did start a lucrative business. So the complaint is not that she worked hard to get where she is but she said 19 instead of 21? And her ex- husband HELPED with her tuition? And this is a story? In other words-------no story! A biography is a SUMMARY of your life, not a minute x minute detail of every detail for 50 years.  (Jan 21, 2014 | post #1)

Gov. Christie apologizes a " again a " in major speech be...

Will someone show me one Governor in any other State who does not question why a major bridge is jammed up? Not one day but for four days. Christie doesn't call the Port Authority and ask them what in heck is going on and when asked by reporters about it, simply makes jokes? For 4 months! I live in MI and knew of that bridge traffic because it was on the news each day but Christie didn't know about it? BULL. Four months later when the emails are discovered, he FINALLY gives a press conference. Then turns his apology to the Mayor into a photo-op for himself like he could not have a private meeting with the Mayor or give him a phone call without hundreds of reporters? But whether Christie is clean in this or not, he needs to welcome this investigation. How else would he know what his staff did and how many were actually involved if he hinders this investigation? He should be glad to find out about these people on his payroll if he isn't hiding something himself.  (Jan 16, 2014 | post #24)

Michigan

Michigan lawmakers consider tax rebates, but there are dr...

The surplus is being attributed to Michigan's modestly improving economy — which is starting a fifth straight year of recovery after devastating job losses in the 2000's — and higher-than-expect ed business tax revenue. Obama has been in office how long? Five years! But why does MI continue "finding " money they didn't know they had? Last year after several schools were closed down, again money just mysteriously appeared as well. The rich do not need another tax break simple because some money have been recovered! Replace the benefits that was taken from the veterans, the poor and the working class. Food benefits just took a big hit but they want to give a tax break for the richest among us AGAIN?  (Jan 11, 2014 | post #1)

Christie fires aide, apologizes for traffic jams

Christie was elected with 32% of the Democratic vote. Now that they know he has referred to them as "animals " I wonder how they feel about that vote they gave him? And if the Dems are such animals, why was he begging for their endorsements? Guess he did a good job using the Democrats like he did his staff.  (Jan 10, 2014 | post #9)

Fed chair, unemployment on tap as Congress returns

We don't have money for unemployment benefits but we do have $24 Billion to shut the government down? Those senate Republicans need to pull their heads out of their behinds and start thinking about humans rather than careers. They want off-set spending which is fine but not the subsidies to the rich farmer or rancher, not the defense department, not more taxes for the richest and not from the oil industry.......... only take, take, take from the poorest and middle class.  (Jan 7, 2014 | post #6)

Saxby Chambliss

Sen. Saxby Chambliss: Americans just aren't keen on Obama...

What's with the R-Senator on Morning Joe telling young people they will be paying $300-400 a month for insurance? He does not know what they will pay and neither will they unless they look it up, put in what they make and see if subsidies are available to them. This is deliberate misinformation and he should have been corrected immediately. Rates are different for everyone. No one has the same income, many are eligible for subsidies and even where they live changes the rates. More lies that don't hurt the rich politician but will hurt those who do not have insurance.  (Dec 19, 2013 | post #1)

City Council: No chickens for DeBary

If a child that is autistic finds help from having chickens, then his family should move to an area where he can have them. This family does not want their son to have a "pet chicken" but they want to have a flock of chickens! Their neighbors have the right to not have to deal with chicken poop, the smells and the flies. And the constant chasing of chickens is animal cruelty. I hope they don't later find out having a pig sty is therapeutic.  (Dec 13, 2013 | post #2)

Dr Kiteck

This doctor is closing his practice because Affordable Care is putting doctors on electronic record keeping and this doc did not want to do that. He said himself that he and his staff know nothing about computers so I guess he works like the doctors of the Wild, Wild West since computers have been around for 40 years now. Electronic record keeping prevents a patient from getting multiple medications from numerous doctors like the lovers of those pill mills out there and the Oxycontin users. Electronic records also helps prevent fraud in the Medicare-Medicaid systems.  (Dec 11, 2013 | post #30)

Judge denies Rep. West'smotion to impound ballots

Recount of first 3 days of early voting when the machines were acting up was redone yesterday. West lost 132 votes and Murphy lost 667 votes. Still West is not happy because Murphy is still ahead and still outside of the margin of error for a recount.  (Nov 12, 2012 | post #4)

Partial Recount Narrows Gap for Allen West in Tight Race

The whole problem is these jam packed ballots. There is no reason for ballots to be 6-8-10 pages long. FEDERAL Elections should be kept separate from State Elections even if people are handed two ballots. Recounting and counting by hand has to be a nightmare with that many pages. One of the errors was nothing but proposal 5 being on the wrong page or omitted all together. There is no big mystery here other than too much paperwork being fed into printers and counters. Murphy has now lost more votes than West has so what's Wests problem? He only won Palm Beach by 185 votes. Perhaps Murphy should ask for a recount on that county with votes so close. But no one is allowed to bring their biker friends with them to sit in on counting of ballots. You have a representative of both parties and lawyers from both sides, not the general public. West wanting to impound the ballot machines was just plain stupid.  (Nov 12, 2012 | post #1)
