Celebrating Groveland's sweet (and juicy) past

This article is about the 1950's and 60's hey day in the citrus industry in Groveland. No black slaves then.  (Jun 22, 2009 | post #2)

Executive airport watches area become a dead zone

I had no idea that these properties were owned by the aviation authority. Like most of the posters, I am totally opposed to any kind of governmental agency (or quasi governmental one) owning what should be private properties. It is just un-American, but then a lot is going on now that is un-American.  (Jun 21, 2009 | post #53)

Nice article. I'm a fan of Coach Van Gundy and it is interesting to read about his family. Go Magic!  (Jun 11, 2009 | post #3)

Well, this beats all, Mr. Baez. You had months to hire a DP qualified attorney and you wait until the last minute to get one and now she needs more time to catch up. I can't believe you have the whatever to make this motion.  (Jun 8, 2009 | post #3)

Casey Anthony: George, Cindy are public-relations flops

I don't think Larry King or anyone else should be interviewing material witnesses in an upcoming 1st degree murder trial, and the poor Anthony parents seem not to know that they can impeach themselves on the stand if they don't say the same things then as they say in all these interviews they are doing. I question Brad Conway's lack of judgment in allowing this and even going so far as to accompany them to distant cities for more exposure. You just have to question his motives as well.  (May 12, 2009 | post #570)

This story just cannot have a good ending. I hope I'm wrong but it just seems to me that Mr. Burke is extremely unstable.  (May 7, 2009 | post #6)

15-year-old, infant missing from Polk County

It takes more than 4 weeks to get a passport so the airline must have let them on with at least one of them with no credentials. Oh well, I guess it works both ways.  (May 2, 2009 | post #31)

Scooped Oprah cancels appearance by George, Cindy Anthony

Good for you, Georgia Mom! I'll look for their address and send them a message as well, but I do not have the leverage you do. I applaud you. I sent a message to the Oprah Show last week protesting their appearance.  (Apr 21, 2009 | post #197)

Florida doesn't have common law, but even if they did, a common law marriage is not established based only on shacking up. There has to be intent to be married; they have to hold themselves out to the public as husband and wife; and they have to have an agreement.  (Apr 20, 2009 | post #84)

Jessica Lunsford's father has a new child

There are some very unkind posts here and I feel compelled to point out that Mark Lunsford did not leave his child alone. She was being cared for by his parents and they were responsible people. Nobody knows how the door came to be unlocked. It was just a very sad circumstance and Mark has campaigned tirelessly for the safety of other children ever since this happened. I say we all should be happy for him at this time.  (Apr 11, 2009 | post #21)
