Military families have their doubts about Afghan war | Th...

Interestingly one sided don't you think? No one wants war and Afghanistan sure is not an ideal place to fight as pointed out above, but we are there--and President Obama has taken way too much time to finally make a decision--which has put the troops already over there in much more danger than they should have been--talk about leaving our guys out there alone--he says he wants to do this right, we all want that but being a military mom I've seen far too many of our troops being bounced around here and there by the lack of decision making our government seems to be stuck in. You are going, you are not, you are going here, no you are going there, no...wait, in the meantime the ones already in Afghanistan are being pelted by the Taliban. Now it's winter and it's going to be much harder to get the troops where they are needed.  (Dec 1, 2009 | post #4)

Police suggest they move, residents say | The Columbus Di...

I've had enough coffee thanks...you are correct that not only did a big tax increase get passed, the City of Columbus was given a federal grant in order to keep the last Police Academy class employed. City Council needs to look at what all of that money is being spent on and put the resources where they are needed--public safety is more important than a park in the middle of downtown--getting rid of all politicians isn't going to change anything--it's speaking up and letting our politicans know what WE believe the priorities are...  (Oct 29, 2009 | post #45)

Police suggest they move, residents say | The Columbus Di...

So what's the solution? MORE police would help! Columbus City Council says that they don't want officers telling people to move and that's understandable, but give the Police Department more resources and perhaps the real solution could be found. These officers are overworked, a single officer cannot be in more than one place at one time and cannot be everywhere at once. Instead of council admonishing the Police Department, give them what they really need--the resources to do their jobs so that residents can feel safe in their neighborhoods.  (Oct 29, 2009 | post #18)
