They thought heart attack.. He collapsed before he started shovelling snow.. I just found some pictures of Bob from the early 70's and of Kippy at the ballfield in WP- phone co. softball games... He had the brightest smile and a twinkle in his eye... he will be truly missed.  (Feb 8, 2011 | post #2799)

I don't remember Sally but I do remember Auto Boys on the corner of Main & Hudson and across on the other corner was Kotzen's gas station. Lindy's diner was next to your family's store. The Fairey family and I think the Dews family lived on Hudson. The Hammerschlag family also lived on Hudson, they lost their son Walter in Vietnam. I am not sure if the Sloboda family and Mirabella families lived on Hudson or LeCount. Bobby Sloboda and Jay Mirabella - do you remember them Harold? I may have Bobby's name spelled incorrectly.  (Jul 25, 2010 | post #2671)

Mrs. Schram was a tiny white haired lady - I have no idea where she lived possibly above the candy store at one time but not from when I was about 5 years old til they tore it down. Franklin Hand Laundry was on the corner of Franklin and Main, then Mrs. Schram's then Heller's Antique store. then a driveway the our apartment bldg. Across the street from the laundry on Main & Franklin I think was a TV store then (going down Franklin) was Gundelach's Bicycle Shop and then Doc's Pharmacy and Soda Shoppe.... Down on Main Street (Main & Harrison) was Acme Deli run by Charlie Lurch... and a few stores down across from Rogers Bowling Alley was Mrs. Rider's candy store which had bubble gum machines outside and pumpkin seed machines... On Harrison Street was another Newspaper and candy store run by "Benny and his wife"...  (Jul 15, 2010 | post #2666)

My boss had to travel to Mamaroneck last week and I gave him a map and asked him to stop by Walter's and get me two.... he brought me back 10.... He had two for himself down there. They were a bit cool by the time he got back to Newburgh but who cared.. nothing like a Walter's Hot Dog... He like them - I told him he would.  (Apr 5, 2010 | post #2606)

we're good.. 32 inches here in Newburgh... power back, snow melting with this 40 degree weather but we are expecting some more snow Wednesday.. not sure how much and I am not going to worry about it. We had a lot of trees and branches down.. 31 years here and lots of blizzards and snow storms and this one was the worst...  (Mar 1, 2010 | post #2547)

When we head down to NR in a few months I am going to go check it out. I remember Dr. Lanese lived in a huge house on center maybe two or three houses down from Beauchamp Pl.  (Jan 31, 2010 | post #2475)
