Does Keanu Reeves hide behind JustRightNow ?

Iamnofool - one last word, before I stop coming around to this barrel of nutjobs - Andromeda is exactly who she says she is, except she's no picture of contented happiness. She's a cantankerous failed stage mom. Ugh. But she is most certainly a married woman with kids, from Canada. As far as the Keanu crazies go, she's sane. She just very belligerent and loves to argue. Have a great time, you two. I'm outta here.  (Mar 29, 2012 | post #508)

The first time I contributed something here, Andromeda wrote a long, hysterical thing about her daughter, and how she tried to push her into show biz. I didn't read it, I skimmed it, and it turned my stomach. I've seen stage mothers come and go and they are all sick. Incurable, too. I have never read anything she writes. I skim them, and I can see how long they are. You don't have to read things carefully to understand that someone who writes at such length is taking things a bit too seriously, which are better left ignored. Anyone who devotes as much time as Andromeda does to arguing with all and sundry, but particularly a fraud like Fool, must have deep issues, and isn't as happy as she puts herself out to be. But thanks sweetie, I'm having a pretty good day - I just sold a property for a lot of money. Buh-bye.  (Mar 29, 2012 | post #507)

Carmen of Austin was me, by the way, travelling. I don't enjoy reading your stuff, Andromeda. I don't read it at all, in fact. You don't have to read it to see that you write very long posts in response to the crazy stuff that the foolish one writes. But I can see that you love to debate him/her. I'm just pointing out that someone who debates a nutcase, is asking for trouble. And to continue the debate long after the nutcase has revealed that he/she is nuts, is herself nuts. After leaving here with a grand flourish, you came back, as I knew you would. As "Fool" knew as well. You are good for each other. That is such an elementary thing, it's amazing that I have to point it out. In fact, that goes for me, too. I will never waste another word on you again. "Just b/c I use the word "harassment " doesn't mean that I'm complaining." That should win a record for stupidity. And fans wonder why stars avoid them.  (Mar 29, 2012 | post #505)

Is Keanu's Career in the Toilet?

I also read this as a dismissal of Bullock and a ridicule of her standing as in the industry. It does read to me that you are saying Bullock produces vanity projects and that is how she gets work. She wouldn't be such a good fund raiser if she weren't such a box office draw. (Till now.) She's just doing what men do, take an active part in the direction of her career, and here you are, a woman, taking pot shots at her.  (Feb 26, 2012 | post #300)

Andromeda - I have thoughts about where Hwood will end up but I don't want to post them here. I want to turn them into an article. I don't want to be accused of plagiarizing myself. :) You can ask me privately what I think.  (Feb 24, 2012 | post #19)

Andromeda, I did not see the Footloose remake and you could not drag me to a theater to see a remake of Dirty Dancing with a backhoe. Too expensive and I don't qualify for the senior rate - just yet. YelenaV, I don't think you can extrapolate from Russis (USSR) to China directly. Yes, China has many people and a growing middle class, but still the movie-going public there is way smaller than the US/Europe For MoTC and Ronin to do well, it will have to do well in all of Asia, not just China.  (Feb 24, 2012 | post #18)

Andromeda - another thought, which is counter-intuitive, but I stand by it. A bad economy doesn't encourage small, imaginative independent projects. Alas. It encourages the powers that be to keep putting their dollars into the big, bloated, tried and true franchises. Ugh. They aren't imaginative people, all they care about is $$$$, so they go with what they know. This will also underscore the importance of the dealmaker, the guy who gets the money and puts it all together. Double ugh.  (Feb 24, 2012 | post #11)

Yes - and this. People outside the industry always say (regarding actors), "why did he do that piece of sh*t?" when an actor does something that's not so hot. The answer is: keep working. It's always good to be busy. And there's just not a lot of great, inspired stuff around. It's never good to be idle, no matter what the situation. So even the best actors have a lot of mediocre to bad credits on their IMDB lists. Now, with the economy being what it is, it's more imperative than ever to keep busy and to look for funding sources outside the Hollywood mainstream. I personally don't think China is the answer to the world's economic woes. Let's not forget that China is still a mostly rural poor country, the Chinese don't have a lot of cash money to spend on tickets, etc. But what the hell do I know? This is an opportunity, you seize the moment, and it's an adventure. Who knows, may turn out great. Keanu is a very good business man. He's definitely one of the 1%, because other than the well known motorcycle habit, he has no extravagances.  (Feb 24, 2012 | post #10)

Don't worry yelenav - you always make me smile!! Seriously, I put the link because I thought it was very very interesting. Hollywood's veneer is glamorous but the reality is as unpleasant as anything nowadays. Projects are going up in smoke right and left. For all I know, Keanu speaking publicly about B&T3 was to prod certain people into getting their butts in gear, but it seems to have fallen thru. Just a possibility.  (Feb 23, 2012 | post #7)

Ardith is entitled to her beliefs. And I'm entitled to believe that she is a delusional creep. Only a few things surprise me anymore. One of them would be if ardith had anything of substance to contribute to conversations.  (Feb 23, 2012 | post #4)

If you want to understand how the global economy (and changing technology) have impacted Hollywood, read this article: http://www.nytimes .com/2012/02/23/op inion/foreclosure- story-untold-in-ho llywood.html?_r=1 &src=recg I'm posting here because the usual suspects (suspect?) have accused Keanu of lying about productions. (Bill and Ted3 specifically.) These aborted projects were probably just casualties of the funding crisis. That makes 47 Ronin all the more of a gamble, due to its huge, bloated budget. If it doesn't do well there will be a lot of egg on a lot of faces. On the other hand I've read some super reviews for Side by Side. This is very good for Keanu - but documentaries don't make money, which is a pity. It will take some time for all this to shake out but in 10 years who knows what Hollywood will look like? Not me. Or is this a case of "plus ca change...."  (Feb 23, 2012 | post #1)

I don't literally respond. I riff for educational purposes, you know? I also enjoyed spreading the word about Tabbby's smackdowns and Flippy's flipouts. Did you read them? I gave the URLs. Take some time out from redecorating to enjoy. NYC is a such a great walking town. It better be, I am being taken out to eat every night. Whee.  (Nov 6, 2011 | post #230)

About Last Night

I posted the link to Flippy's flipout on "Maybe Donna's Right" - too lazy to go back there, here is a link to another part of it: http://www.imdb.co m/name/nm0000206/b oard/thread/188219 173?d=189665969 &p=5#189665969 "You attack me on every level....you bunch of lying homophobes... " This is an illogical rant if ever there was one. I must say, I was a tad surprised at the way Flippy flipped out. She's usually a pretty cool and unflappable customer. Something about Tabbby must get to her.  (Nov 5, 2011 | post #14)

Maybe Donna's Right

(continued) "Carmen, this never happened, except in your mind." The only person who makes things up is Flippy - who considers an orgasmic experience she had in a movie theater while watching Keanu and River enact a scene is "a Keanu story." I'd say that represents a confusion of self with fantasy. It's not a story that has anything to do with the real man. It's touching when fans go to the theater and identify with the actor or actress on the screen. It becomes creepy when the fan loses perspective and thinks the celluloid image IS reality. That's crazy-making stuff.  (Nov 5, 2011 | post #227)

Luca, No it's in the darkly and dramatically named "The Truth About Keanu Reeves." (Cue the first chords of Beethoven's 9th Symphony -- da da da dahhhhhh!!!!) Here is where Tabbby hands Flippy her head, specifically requesting her to "be an adult" and stop engaging in hearsay: http://www.imdb.co m/name/nm0000206/b oard/thread/188219 173?d=189590813 &p=4#189590813 As an appreciator of good writing, I especially enjoyed this: "One day your slanderous tongue will cut your own throat." Ouch. That wasn't even directed towards me, and it hurt. Damn that was good. If I ever write a book, I'll surely steal that, and not any of Flippy's pathetic dribblings. Tabbby is a highly intelligent observer in general: "To a point, I admire GeffenÂ’s rise to power but hate how it corporatized record companies and pushed profit over creativity." I've never read anything by Flippy that remotely approaches that in terms of perceptiveness. Back to the matter at hand. Did Flippy flip-out, or did I make this up in my drunken and fevered imagination? I dunno, I say Flippy flips out here: http://www.imdb.co m/name/nm0000206/b oard/thread/188219 173?d=189644981 &p=4#189644981 I'm not bothering to take it apart, sentence by irrational sentence. You can do that for yourselves. To me, it was a freakout by a weak mind that couldn't respond to what the more rational (and powerful) observer was saying: "You *beep* liar. *Beep* you twice." and this immortal line: "asssssshole. " (Did I leave out an "s"?) Brilliant, quotable stuff! YMMV. What do you all think? I say it was a total freak out. Regarding my making stuff up,  (Nov 5, 2011 | post #226)
