Tea Party rallies against health care bill - and roars as...

Bachmann for President! The GOP only has a few true leaders willing to fight for we the people.  (Dec 21, 2009 | post #321)

Iran to put American hikers 'on trial'

I agree, the hikers definitely lacked common sense. Place yourself in danger and bad things happen. They need a miracle to get out of this.  (Dec 14, 2009 | post #2)

Marijuana IS far safer than alcohol or tobacco.

Valid points. Giving marijuana the same legal status as alcohol would be a good idea. Just as alcohol prohibition caused problems for society, the same can be said for marijuana prohibition.  (Dec 12, 2009 | post #3)

A peace lecture, a war defense

Escalating war to promote peace. This line of thinking can have interesting results when applied to things. Having sex to promote abstinence. Getting drunk to promote sobiety. Telling lies to promote honesty. Spending to eliminate debt. Taking a shower to stay dry. Driving south to go north.  (Dec 11, 2009 | post #10)

Obama defends US wars as he accepts peace prize

If obama had any class he would not have accepted it. Hell, bush deserves it as much as obama does! Shouldn't this award go to someone who actually promotes peace and has a list of accomplishments?  (Dec 10, 2009 | post #2)

Bilingualism the voice of the future

English is america's common language that binds our country together. Of course knowing other languages is plus, but thats beside the point. Bilingualism is a crutch for people who come to live in america, but do not want to learn english. Americans should not have to accommodate these people. I welcome legal immigrants who come to america to assimilate and learn english, our common language. Immigrants who come to live in america as invaders should not be welcome here.  (Dec 9, 2009 | post #7)

EUTimes says US preparing for Civile War. Do you believe it?

Hard to say if this story is real or fictional, but considering all that happening it could be real. I hear all the time that the worst is over and the economy is recovering. But I know thats just a bunch of bull. The US dollar is on the verge of collapse. The national debt is so huge that government default is a real possiblity. If people's hard earned money suddenly becomes nearly worthless pieces of paper, what do you think is going to happen?  (Dec 8, 2009 | post #17)

Obama Approval on Afghanistan, at 35%, Trails Other Issues

America has major problems that may lead to economic collapse. Lets forget about nation building overseas and try some here at home.  (Dec 5, 2009 | post #174)

George Will: This will not end well

George Will is correct. Al-Qaida is a small, mobile, loosely connected group that will simply avoid our troops. Conventional warfare won't work. Insurgants are not Al-Qaida. They are basically just pissed off locals who are no threat to our national security. Bring our troops home.  (Dec 2, 2009 | post #2)

The american people want an end to this war, not more escalation. My fellow americans, you've been punk'd.  (Dec 2, 2009 | post #114)

Echoes of Bush heard throughout speech

New gallop poll gives obama a 35% approval rating on his afgahn plan. americans want this war over, not escalated. My translation of what obama said to the american people: You've been punk'd.  (Dec 2, 2009 | post #12)

30,000-troop boost ordered by Obama in Afghanistan

So what will happen if the surge fails? If you look at afghan history, a victorious surge looks doubtful. My guess is further escalation, reinstatement of the draft, and no end to this war in sight by the end of obama's 4 year term.  (Dec 1, 2009 | post #5)

Marines to be first wave in new Afghanistan plan

This sounds very much like the Vietnam war. Lessons from the past are never learned, so it seems. Do you feel a draft? Continued escalation and depleted troops mean the next step is to reinstate the draft. The draft offices already have the info they need and can be up and running on a moments notice. The peace movement needs to step it up big time and loudly voice their opposition.  (Dec 1, 2009 | post #4)

Why Gay Marriage Is Such A Big Deal

I have a simple solution. I believe government should not be involved in personal decisions. Privatize marraige into a personal legal contract. Remove the government from the issue, and it is no longer an issue.  (Dec 1, 2009 | post #1855)
