I also agree with my brother that Lawrence should win the Rutgers, and Jordan Fredericks should win the Thorpe. Considering he won the most prestigious NYS award the Gatorade Player of the Year award recognizing his as the best player in the State. I hope he also wins the Class A MVP. Congratulations  (Dec 5, 2014 | post #12776)

Syosset wins , plus would beat Sayville. Out of the three teams you mentioned, not one of is capable of pass defense. Syosset can.  (Dec 5, 2014 | post #12775)

So what expertise does Gregg Sarra have for picking the Top 10 teams? As much as I love football the #1 spot should've gone to Commack's Boy's Soccer team. Personnally I would rather watch the grass grow in my back yard then watch a Soccer game. But you have to give credit where credit is due. Commack won the LIC by beating MacAthur(Quarter Final), went upstate and beat Section 2 Shenendehowa in the Semi-Finals then beat Section 5 Fairport in the Finals to capture the New York State Class AA Championship. In Class A East Hampton won the NYS Class A Championship and Mattituck did the same in Class B. Being from upstate (Westchester County Section I) I can tell it isn't easy winning a NYS Championship, unless your Section 4's Maine-Endwell football which has 4 NYS Tournament Football Championships in a row, plus has 51 game winning streak in Class B.  (Dec 3, 2014 | post #12729)

Thank you, I'm not sure how this really benefits teams in Section 8? We have a pretty good system in Section I, especially for the teams in Class A ( 29 teams consisting of two Leagues). Won't this create havic with the power points and give an advantage to teams with pre-season rankings of #5, #6, #7 & #8? Can't wait to see the scheduling for all the Conferences.  (Mar 23, 2014 | post #10656)

Will this proposed idea be implemented for both Section 8 & 11 if passed? Or will this be strictly for Section 8?  (Mar 23, 2014 | post #10652)

We have pre-seedings in Section I in both Class AA (Leagues I & II) and in Class A (Leagues I & II). The only difference is we don't use the "S Curve"  (Mar 20, 2014 | post #10644)

The reason Chad Bosch didn't win the Hansen, two words Nick Masi. Bosch was the best two way player on the Island in 1992.  (Jan 7, 2014 | post #10362)

USMMA? Wow, that's a team I haven't heard about since former HC George Paterno and All Pro-Linebacker (Denver Bronocos)Joe Rizzo where there. I think they run the horizontal stretch, with a touch of the old double wing spread, not the flex bone.  (Dec 27, 2013 | post #10333)

Are you kidding me, Pat-Med had Connetquot modified flex-bone offense figured out, the problem was they handed Connectquot 13 points in the second quarter. And yet it still was only 19-13 at the half. Even at the end of the third quarter it was 25-23 even with handing Connetquot 13 points in the second quarter. The wheels came off when for some reason P-M decided to change the defense up in the fourth quarter and the wheels fell off the wagon, and Connetquot scored 19 points to P-M's 0.  (Dec 25, 2013 | post #10322)

I disagree all teams on LI run the modified flex-bone spread combined with the triple option from the I and power right or left. They all copied it from Air Force. We run it at Greeley very successfully. I'm sunning my self on the beaches of Juno  (Dec 25, 2013 | post #10321)

An Old Sailor, please tell me you didn't dive into these posts head first. I always figured you for one of the intelligent posters on this forum who knows whats going on in Nassau football.  (Dec 20, 2013 | post #10280)

Pat-Med lost 75% of its offense with the graduation of QB Anthony Lee (1,817 yards passing 24 td's) and WR Connor Coughlin (947 yards receiving and 17 td's. Not to mention their big offensive lineman Sean Christie. The big stat is that they were only 5-4. So not sure how Commack would be pre-seeded behing Pat-Med or for that matter Northport. The lowest I could see is #5.  (Dec 20, 2013 | post #10279)
