Knicks lose to Hawks, who take over 8th in East
because the knicks are a joke and have been for the last few years since Isiah took over. they've been horribly mismanaged, have the highest payroll in the league yet are one of the worst teams. the players visibly quit out on the court and on some nights it looks like they don't even try. Eddy Curry consistently would get out hustled by a much smaller player for a rebound etc. they have a collection of shooters and offensive talent yet routinely churn out stinkfests on the court. their management, payroll, and their players and performance have turned this team into the laughingstock of the nba. Hundley struck out all three times he came to the plate, while Piazza went 1-for-4 and struck out twice. Piazza was booed by the 18,088 fans at Shea every time he came to the plate. The loudest boos, though, came in the top of the eighth when he twice failed to throw out a runner stealing second, including once with the opposing catcher running on a pitchout. http://www.nydaily news.com/archives/ sports/1998/07/21/ 1998-07-21_mets_do n_t_hit_for_yoshii __f.html BUT BUT BUT PIAZZA WAS NEVER BOOED AT SHEA! WAHHH! Would you like some crow with that? (Mar 6, 2008 | post #200)

Players were surprised that Piazza gets routinely booed at Shea Stadium. http://www.nydaily news.com/archives/ sports/1998/07/31/ 1998-07-31_lasorda _ready_for_piazza_ par.html (Mar 6, 2008 | post #199)

If Sosa struggles and the fans in Shea Stadium start booing him thickly -- as they booed Piazza in 1998, as they have booed many players -- how will Sosa react? http://sports.espn .go.com/mlb/column s/story?columnist= olney_buster&i d=1925618 I think you're the one who misremembered son! HAHAHAHAHA. please keep on revealing your ignorance. (Mar 6, 2008 | post #198)

lol! keep denying it. I find proof and you still can't accept it. hilarious. then you go on to knock piazza as not being clutch? were you even watching the 1999 LCS. particularly in game 6, he almost single handedly carried them to game 7. obviously you are no kind of met fan, you knock piazza in the middle of your defending met fans behavior and go on to say how you don't like him that much. Underachieving Mets aren 't boasting anymore
Not only were the expectations for Piazza high, but as a catcher he played the same position as injured fan-favorite Todd Hundley. Met fans had little tolerance for slumps, and early struggles led to boos whenever Piazza made an out." http://www.basebal llibrary.com/ballp layers/player.php? name=Mike_Piazza_1 968 Idi0t. I love when you silly little Met fans reveal your own ignorance. (Mar 5, 2008 | post #189)

it's not pointless - every time wallace matthews writes an article critical of the mets this board is full of whiney complaints. EVERYTIME! that's my whole point. whenever there's an article critical of the yankees there isn't nearly as much venom directed at the person (Mar 5, 2008 | post #188)

LOL. Pity when a Yankee fan knows more about **** occurences than you do. Check your facts son. Piazza heard a fair share of boo birds in 1998. (Mar 4, 2008 | post #145)
