Ambulance, fire levy sparks debate in Ohio

I posted this earlier but I see the same old crap from the no people a lot of talk but no real facts to back anything they say up. Research for yourself and make your decision based on what you find not on what people with personal vendettas against a few of the trustees. I had decided that I was going to not say anymore on this site but enough is enough, I can not set back and watch these people who are against Issue 3 continue to spout their lies and their so called facts any more. Their problem is with a few of the township trustees, and to get back at them they are willing to spew untruths about our Fire Department that protects us. I like most do not like taxes but they are a necessary evil, we just need to realize that with out some of these taxes we would not be able to enjoy many of the comforts and yes the safety and security that we all want. I urge you to go to the following website and read the facts and not just listen to the negative propaganda be spewed by the people against Issue 3 I'm sure if you watch I to will be getting attacked by the no people that's really all they can do they can't fight the truth. www.YesTo3.com  (May 5, 2013 | post #1496)

When the last fire levy was passed in 2001, the cost of a gallon of diesel fuel was $1.86. Today that cost has increased to $3.43. Last year just one of our medic units consumed 1,743 gallons transporting sick and injured patients to the hospital. This is just one of the facts that shows why twe need to support this Levy www.YesTo3.com  (May 5, 2013 | post #1436)

You say the pro levy people are bullying I was on this blog early on and believe me I was bullied but not by the pro levy it was all the folks that are against the levy, so much to the point I have been staying quiet but I needed to voice this. Look at the facts and if your honest and can remove the dislike of a couple trustees you may see that this Levy is needed but you know it is your choice and right to do as you please that's what makes this county so great. And if you feel bullied by anything I said let apologize up front I did not mean anything that way.  (Mar 28, 2013 | post #400)

I have been reading this whole string trying to really make up my mind about this levy and on the no side I keep seeing the same thing. Complain about a couple of our Trustees, therefor we should say no or (take our ball and go home) I have not seen anything that tells me that the Fire Department either does not deserve or need this levy. What good is financial security when you have a loved one that possibly dies from a slower response, or a home that burns down as you wait for a fire truck to get their because the station across the street is closed because you voted down something just because of a vendetta? When a levy like this fails all we have to do is look at what happened just a couple hours north of us in Liberty Township up north of Columbus. I myself am not willing to take that chance just because of a VENDETTA and someone's political aspirations.  (Mar 6, 2013 | post #68)

I personally do not like the idea of new taxes at all but I have researched this and I do find it very interesting that our Fire Department has been able to maintain services on the monies that they asked for some 12 years ago. I know my costs sure have increased since 2001. If you look at other areas in Ohio that have turned down levy's it has cost the loss of services and I am not willing to risk not having my family protected. If there is misuse by our twp officials then that needs to be addressed, but this levy isn't the place to do that. I think this may just be one of those times that I need to understand something my father used to say to me "Don't cut of your nose just to spite your face" We need to support our first responders  (Mar 5, 2013 | post #60)

Reading these post really kind of bothers me, it seems that we are all focusing on a particular group of people. instead of our own or our children's safety. If we do not like a person that has been voted into an elected office then we need to work on voting them out but we cant lose site of what this levy is all about, mine yours and your children's safety. What are we going to do vote against something that directly affects our safety just because we don't like a person or their political view point. Voting a levy down like this simply because we don't like a persons political stance to me is the same as saying I care about my view points than I do about my safety and safety of my children  (Mar 5, 2013 | post #45)
