Bobby Huckaby

I heard about this today. My husband and I went to school with Bobby and have known his family for years. We will be praying for this family.  (Dec 22, 2008 | post #2)

You must be part of the WBR politics. Show your name so we can make life hard on you...no thanks, ERA is not worth it to me. They can stay the joke that they are because I won't be back, nor will many others.  (Nov 6, 2008 | post #14)

question

Ray Naquin, Mary Landreau, Kathleen Blanco, and W. Jefferson...Do these names sound familiar? 3 of these people had a great deal to do with the dealing with Katrina and they all failed the people of La, and have all been re-elected. (interesting that 2 are black and 1 is mixed) That should tell you who is racist. Secondly, look at predominately white Ms Gulf Coast and Slidell. Both of these places were hit extremely hard by Katrina, but they were rebuilt quicker than NOLA becaus these people got off their butts and did what they had to do to go on, instead of sitting around and waiting for everyone else to do for them.  (Nov 5, 2008 | post #63)

obama as president

I wonder if his patriotic side will show at his inaguration. Hopefully he will have enough respect for the American people to salute the flag.  (Nov 5, 2008 | post #11)

Obama Wins!

There are many whites who are the descendants ofe Acadiansm, Italians, Indians and Germans. They were persecuted also. So were If you are from France, maybe you should check out the Acadian Odyssey. Why do people like you continue to hold this generation responsible for everything that occurred in the past? Maybe it is just so there will be an excuse to live off the government instead of trying to get up and rise above it.  (Nov 4, 2008 | post #117)

Should the US have universal healthcare?

We Won a Black Man & a Black Woman in The White House this is history for all African Americans this is our day. We have been through so much our Ancestors are smiling. And thanks to all the Minority Races for voting for Obama. This is the time for all African Americans & All Minorities to be proud we Won!! We push the white people to the side. They'll never be on top again Never!! Minority Power!! Please, do some research and so that you will get off your pity party! African Americans were not the only people that have been through so much. Acadians, Italians, Germans and many others that have come to this country have endured just as much including slavery. The difference is they worked hard and made a name for them selves instead of trying to continue to live the legacy. Even though it is a historical day, the fact that so many people voted just to vote for a black man shows how far some of you have really come. Hang on to his promises, because I doubt he will come forth to "distribute the wealth."  (Nov 4, 2008 | post #39150)

Obama Wins!

How do you think a "vote simply based on race" has united anyone? To the first time voters coming out to show they care, where have they been up until now? Just wait to see how much freedom you will have.  (Nov 4, 2008 | post #103)

Panel looks at routing school scores

Just another loop hole for the suffering school boards to help make their districts look better and bring in more money. Public Education needs to be about the children instead of the money. The school systems entire exsistence revolves around money, including things like this to get more. Too bad the quality of education doesn't directly correspond with the money coming in.  (Nov 4, 2008 | post #1)

My husband and I were very involved, but we can't change the politics that will always be involved there. You pay your money to be part of the ERA, but they don't want to hear what you have to say.  (Nov 3, 2008 | post #11)

Delta, you keep telling everyone to volunteer, but have you ever thought that some of us have pulled our children out of ERA because of all the nonsense that has continually gone on for the past years. I am not a volunteer and do not plan to ever be again. Maybe oneday ERA will get real leadership that will allow this association to get sanctioned and give some of these kids the credit and opportunities that they deserve. Maybe you are too busy volunteering to see all the stuff that goes on. Walk around and look in from the outside.  (Nov 3, 2008 | post #9)

Cazayoux Endorses Obama

Maybe Don should have been upfront in who he was going to support in the presidential election. People change their minds because guys like Don don't tell the whole truth from the get go. Regardless of what he may have said previously on any issue, his support for Obama leads to a total contradiction. Therefore, what are we to think? If he supports Obama now, chances are he will support everything that Obama pushes across the table to be signed. Let's see Don stand behind his man and start sharing his wealth with some of the cane farmers or better yet the sugar mill workers. On the contrare, you seem to not know enough about the real issues or you are just another person who doesn't realize all the rights you may be forced to give up during an Obama Presidency. I love how he Obama is playing the race card. When so many people have worked so hard to try to end racism, he stirs it up. This election will consist of a great deal of uneducated voters.  (Nov 3, 2008 | post #22)

Trick or Treat - will the deputies be out?

In Erwinville the drunks will be out on the roads on their 4-wheelers and such, but will our parish deputies be out? Probably not. That may be why so many children from here go to Brusly and Addis to trick or treat. They are not safe in their own neighborhoods. Erwinville doesn't get the same attention from the Sheriff's office as does these other places. There are other adult males contributing to the delincency of minors, the deputies only have to open their eyes and mouths about it.  (Oct 31, 2008 | post #1)

Well, ERA has always been a joke. It can't get a real sanction like our other communities in the parish. I don't think a mom should be held responsible for what her legal age child does. Concerned parents should stay at the ball park with their children instead of dropping them off and leaving them on auto pilot. The parish does need to enforce the sex offender laws better. One of these men had been charged in the past and is listed as a registered sex offender. There pictures are sent to the schools, but should also be on display in public places like the recreational facilities. I hope that the sheriff's dept will continue the investigation because there are more. But it will probably be like all the other investigations, "we've made an arrest for everyone to see, let's not worry about it anymore."  (Oct 30, 2008 | post #2)
