lol...here we go. I never made any reference to breastfeeding and chauvanism... After reading several of your past comments about how women "back in the day being decent" and women "knowing their place" and women "staying home to feed their babies like they should" I have deduced that YOU are a chauvanist... I never said anything about breastfeeding in correlation to chauvanism. But thanks again...you don't dissappoint...lol And as far as your story about evil ecologists and fishing indians... Feeding babies, has nothing to do with sex, the sexes, women, men, warped sexual perceptions of society, indians or fish...lol People like you are making a huge ridiculous over sexualized deal of..... feeding a baby. It's just plain silly.  (Dec 5, 2007 | post #2912)

You will no doubt only read bits and pieces of the last post, quote me incorrectly and miss a detail here or there rendering the post...misundersto od...as usual. But let’s sit back and see.  (Dec 4, 2007 | post #2907)

I haven't been here in quite some time...besides posting the link to that petition site... But Sean you never cease to amaze me with your ignorance and blind support of your beliefs... You're a complete idiot and a total chauvinist with some severe issues with the female form, don't get me wrong...but I have to give you credit for your sheer unrelenting faith in your perceptions of manners and or "acceptable " behavior. All this babbling about "manners " and "bodily fluids" and "biohazards " is just laughable yet you push on (and on and on and on)...I have to say if you had the good sense God gave a turnip, you'd probably be a wonderful lactivist since you clearly have a fascination with the boobies and you never give up.  (Dec 4, 2007 | post #2906)

'Suicide doors' resurrected by car designers despite safety con...

Same with the chevy silverado...if the front door isn't open, you can't open the back "suicide " door. I think it's brilliant and I wish more cars came with the option. And as far as falling out of moving cars...I think it's probably possible to fall out of any open car door...not just the "suicide " versions... Parents also locking car doors, which is recommended by the highway patrol as it increases the likeliness of the door staying shut upon impact, is also another way to help insure that passengers remain in the vehicle...regardle ss of the door design.  (Sep 21, 2007 | post #5)

I agree...But vans do have air conditioning...personally I think I'd have been more comfortable there anyway.  (Sep 7, 2007 | post #1730)

Sean the point of this last comment flew right over your head. I wasn't insinuating that Applebees was upscale, middleclass or otherwise...I was saying that as far as breastfeeding goes...the smells, the people, the distractions and the noise...would have made it a crappy choice and a last resort for a place to successfully breastfeed anyway. THAT was the point....but good lookin out.  (Sep 7, 2007 | post #1729)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder Sean, and I think that the fact that my body can produce all the food my baby needs without anybody else...IS BEAUTIFUL... And God Dammit I thought someone taught YOU how to use the damn quote feature ****  (Sep 7, 2007 | post #1728)

I think it would be better if they had abandoned the baby with someone that would care for it...than kill it with meth smoke. It really makes me sick...I don't understand why these "parents " aren't in jail.  (Sep 7, 2007 | post #4)

That's true, and this is hardly ever an issue, with us anyway...that's why we have pumps and bottles and blah blah blah... Although if it's a particularly young child (not the case in this instance, I know) a bottle is not an option....And in some cases..breastfed babies don't use bottles...bottles are an option...not a requirement. It's just a pity that we should have even the slightest bit of shame or embarrassment or any negative feelings about such a correct and beautiful and healthy thing. 9 Times out of 10, we're stocked up with bottles and back of bags of milk, because we opt to use bottles...but if the need should arise, it'd be nice to be able to feed baby without such hostility. And it's not just about being an exhibitionist or anything else...For example, I can not get my son to nurse in my living room on my couch to save my life, he just won't have it...but walk out to the back yard by the pool on the patio furniture...and he's content to feed for an hour. Sometimes it's not the mother choosing the location of the feeding...So "staying in the van", while being the logical alternative in theory...isn't necessarily the one that is going to work in practice. Personally, I probably would have tried the van first, if that didn't work, I probably would have opted for a bench or something out in the fresh air next...the booth at crappy old Applebee's probably would have been my last choice....  (Aug 30, 2007 | post #1706)

I think alot of this "I dare you to confront me" behavior on the mother's part...is a RESULT of being harrassed...I know that when I started breastfeeding, I was embarrassed and sheepish about it...not defiant and brazen...it wasn't until I became aware of people being so oppossed and then actually being eyeballed myself that I began to harbor a hostile and defiant attitude about the whole thing. If you look at the link I sent previously in these posts...you can go to the website that actually shows her breastfeeding...yo u can't even see anything...but it is crystal clear what she's doing... If nothing and I MEAN NOTHING is showing...and people are just freaked out by the concept of what she's doing...isn't that their problem and not hers?  (Aug 30, 2007 | post #1701)
