Battle far from over for immigrants who get deferrals

They should have been asked to leave first and then enter the country by legal means (ie obtaining visas) and then apply for legal status if they are skilled. No point granting legal status as if selling it in a flea market. There are thousands of legally entered people who have applied for legal residency. They have to wait for years to get their green card. Instead of spending resources on these illegal entered pigs, the same could have been spent on reforming the immigration law. Many countries provide residency by see what the immigrant can offer. This way they get the best talents and in turn benefits the country. Of course the immigrant must have entered the country legally. Kick these pigs out and make then enter the country legally.  (Aug 19, 2012 | post #4)

Biggest immigration relief in a generation begins Wednesday

Yes..I care less about people who entered the country illegally. Makes no sense when there are numerous people who came here legally and are waiting for years to get their green card. They are in this mess because all the resources are directed towards solving illegal immigration, while legally entered residents are left out to rot. If you care for people who came here illegally , please feel free to join them.  (Aug 15, 2012 | post #25)

Yes it amazes me also when people who came here illegally are rewarded amnesty of some sort. Your husband broke the first condition to be a legal resident (ie Did the applicant enter the country legally) and he did not. So he has to face it.  (Aug 15, 2012 | post #16)

When will legally entered, tax paying residents who applied for their green cards thru legal means see a day like this? I guess this action only motivates people to enter US illegally. Sad day indeed.  (Aug 15, 2012 | post #15)

I disagree on your statement that "it is easy for Asians, Indians, and Arabs to get legal residency plus $$$ to start businesses here in the US" - Please refer to any immigration attorney and they could agree that if the applicant is an Indian, Chinese (or from any Asian country) getting a green card is not easy due to severe backlogs. These applicants entered the country legally, got a job legally and are waiting in the line for years to get their shot at the the green card. Also don't assume that the US government is handing out $$$ to these people to start business.  (Aug 15, 2012 | post #12)

The US must stop tossing foreign grads

Those "few dozen" ones have created a name for itself. How can you judge immigrants by this blog.  (Jul 16, 2012 | post #8)

The US must stop tossing foreign grads

We must leverage the talents of these folks rather than educating them and sending them back to their own countries and compete with us. Immigrants formed the backbone of this great nation and it is ironic that we are closing our doors on immigrants. We must let these people in who have talents and skills to take this great nation to the next level. Also remember these people don't go on welfare and are willing to do what it takes to prove themselves. Personally, these people must be allowed to get in rather than the "fence jumpers" from south of the border. As for me, I came to this country as a student legally, got a job legally, paying taxes and applied for my green card five year back and am still waiting in the line like thousands of legal residents for my turn to obtain the green card.  (Jul 15, 2012 | post #4)

U.S. to Stop Deporting Some Illegal Immigrants

Well today our prez has gained more votes for the upcoming election. What can we expect for a guy whose uncle and aunt are in US illegally. This is a sad day for many "legally entered and wait for their green card' applicants. No wonder country is losing out on highly skilled educated immigrants. While other countries welcome them, we are closing our doors on these people. Sad indeed.  (Jun 15, 2012 | post #103)

Joy, criticism greet immigration policy move

Well I guess, the best way to enter US is illegally. Legal entered residents are told "FCKU". I hope prez is watching telemundo and eating tacos for dinner.  (Jun 15, 2012 | post #1)

Undocumented College Graduates Seek US Citizenship, Face ...

Wow if they undocumented why are they not arrested and deported. It is ironic to see that illegal aliens have the balls to ask for US citizenship while people who came to to country legally are made to wait for years to get their chance at the green card.  (May 22, 2012 | post #13)

Rep. Steve King: Immigrants are like dogs

People like Steve "racist" king is the reason why the country in going in the wrong direction. Rather than attracting skilled immigrants who can contribute to US, they are driven out. I'm sure steve-y is using an intel based PC (which was started by an immigrant). He must be using google (started by immigrants), even his under pants was switched by an immigrant. so WTF. I'm sure stevey has made enough $$$ for his clan.  (May 22, 2012 | post #4)

High-Tech Immigration: Vital to U.S. Economic Recovery [R...

Any sort of immigration must be welcomed as long as it benefits US. We are letting in 55k people every year on green card lottery. 95 % of them go on welfare as soon as they get in. While on the other hand, skilled workers are made to wait for years just to get their chance to live the American dream. All the while these skilled immigrants work and pay taxes. No wonder other countries are taking a cue of out of our system and are refining their immigration system to attract skilled workers. in ten years Asian countries will be leading the pack and US will be following them.  (May 22, 2012 | post #2)
