Pagan Sexual Etiquette

I used to treat my body like a temple, but it's much more fun to treat it like the amusement park it really is!  (Aug 16, 2010 | post #39)

Errrgh. It was certainly better than the interview with a vampire. http://www.examine r.com/x-51301-Phoe nix-Paganism-Exami ner~y2010m6d6-Abou t-being-a-vampire- human-immortal-and -the-practice-of-t he-dark-arts-pt-1  (Jun 7, 2010 | post #19)

In the title, it does say that it is about being a Woman and a Wife before a Wiccan. Just saying.  (Jun 7, 2010 | post #18)

See, I read the article as a character profile, not a "how to be Wiccan" instruction manual. I think many people may have read it as such, or at least I can hope. I think the whole point was to interview her and show that Wiccans aren't baby roasting freaks who run around in velvet capes wielding daggers. And it did a good job of that. Even if the article was more about the woman and not the religion.  (Jun 7, 2010 | post #17)

Just out of curiosity, what would a real Wiccan have answered?  (May 31, 2010 | post #3)

Do you actually do magic[k] spells?

maybe some more explanation is needed Fairy Goth Mother (do you have a shortened name we can call you by perchance?) I can sometimes make housecleaning or bathing into a spell, but it's always more complicated than just that activity and takes 3 times as long to do. I like to do my entire once over clean every new moon. I scrub walls, floors, open windows, move furniture and burn incense. It's like I cleaned the energies as well as the dirt out of my house. But it takes waaaay longer than just doing the chores, because I'm only half present. I'm focusing all my energy on the intent and my body slows down. Does it take you long to get dressed?  (Mar 17, 2010 | post #13)

no problem. I find that the more drugs one takes, the more creative lies they are able to make up.  (Mar 16, 2010 | post #75)

@ Chan : I am a Virgo sun with a Cancer moon and a Scorpio rising. Betcha don't even know what that means. @Fairy Goth Mother : I think I know where you're coming from, but not quite "anything " could become a spell. Like pocket lint. Although some may argue that lint could be used in a spell. I myself am of the mind that a spell is similar to what some call prayer, it is a concentrated effort to manifest an occurence, or perhaps even matter in the ambitious.  (Mar 16, 2010 | post #9)

You know, it is very offensive to make a comment like this. You do not know the person you are directing it at whatsoever. If you think this is too high drama/espionage for real life, keep your opinions to yourself and move on. The fact is, having online relationships with people means that we don't ever know 100% of the time if the things they tell us are real. But unless someone gives me a pretty good reason for thinking they are a troll (or nuts) and they are not asking me to send them money, I will generally believe them. Why? Because I do know people - in the flesh- who have had things like this happen to them. And weirder and worse things too. I wonder sometimes about the lessons they are here to learn in this lifetime, but I never pass judgement. And also because it doesn't hurt anyone. Unlike leaving random hateful and anonymous comments to perfect strangers. Think on it, will you?  (Mar 16, 2010 | post #73)

When did you first find out you were pagan?

Hi Clark, nice to hear from you too. I've been hanging out with girls on rollerskates and chainsaw jugglers. No, really. I think you're right and I suppose that a lot of people are on their path before they realize it. Good to hear from you too. :)  (Mar 4, 2010 | post #24)

When did you first find out you were pagan?

I was spiritually curious from a young age. When I was about 8 I began asking my mother questions about spirit and she shrugged her shoulders and directed me to this comic book version of the bible my uncle had given me. While I found it entertaining, the artwork was really lacking and I had a problem with the believability of the stories. I found my mom's old astrology book when I was 13 and began studying it, soon after I discovered Tarot. I was spending a lot of time in the country collecting plants and things making home made teas around this time too, not ever really making connections between the activities. When I was 16 I was given the book, "Casting the Circle: a woman's book of ritual" by Diane Stein and I began to put it all together. I also remember a moment when I discovered the correspondences between the 12 zodiac and the court cards, and the elements and seeing how it crosses over into everything. Herbs, dates, categorizing stones, etc. Understanding how everything I had been studying follows the same laws, is connected , that really proved to me that none of it was an accident and that I had discovered a gate into a place of unending knowledge.  (Mar 1, 2010 | post #21)
