Walkley, Broadway on Nov. 2 ballot

Yes, but the same GAL more than likely strongly believes you are involved in the caper caper seeing as how you did confess to eating fish. Ridiculous is most apropo. Arm chair QBs playing the game much better than the coach and Judge Judy wannabes deciding a case based solely on media coverage and hearsay is ludacris. I suppose a someone with experience as an "assistant general counsel at the state Department of Health for eight years" or "at the state Tax Commission assigned to collect unpaid withholding taxes for the state" would have made a much more informed decision. Until you know all the facts of a case I suggest you not trash the judge in the case. "Strongly believed..." is not proof.  (Oct 26, 2010 | post #2)

Who do you support for Governor in Oklahoma in 2010?

If Mary Fallin can't be bothered to return to Washington to do the job Oklahomans elected her to do as a Representative, why would anyone even consider letting her run the state? She says she'll stand up to Washington, fight to repeal "Obamacare ", supports the Arizona law concerning immigration. Those issues are all Fox News talking points. Notice she does not give a clue as to what exactly she will do. She says she will lower taxes. Did she mention it was just for the wealthy and big business just like George Bush? Why don't we just get George Bush to run for governor of Oklahoma instead of settling for second best with Mary Fallin.  (Oct 12, 2010 | post #44)

The "English is the Official Language of Oklahoma Act"

Before you buy in to the hate filled rhetoric of the angry few, read the views from those against the amendment and why: Representative Terry Harrison is against the measure, stating, "If you looked it up in an encyclopedia or Googled, ‘election-year shenanigan’ this is what would come up. It is just an attempt to get more people, probably hate-filled Republicans, to come out to vote. Generally speaking, if you don’t like people that don't look like you, you will go to the polls over this issue." The American Dream Coalition, an advocacy group based out of Tulsa, is against the measure. Representative Mike Brown doesn't feel the issue should be on the ballot, and sees no problems in the state in the current situation. According Brown, when commenting on voters, "I hope people are educated enough to realize English is our official language. Oklahoma’s law books are probably the largest in the nation, and we continually load them up with Christmas tree ornaments in elections.” Marvin G. Lizama, president of the American Dream Coalition, stated that the measure would create problems in the state, especially for non-English speakers when seeking government services. That impact, according to Lizama, would end up hurting the state economy instead of helping it, as supporters of the measure have been arguing. On April 14, 2009, a letter was sent from the federal government's U.S. Department of Justice to Drew Edmondson, Oklahoma's Attorney General. The letter indicated that Oklahoma might lose federal funding if the state's voters approved State Question 751. It stated, "...implement ation of this [English-only] amendment may conflict with Oklahoma’s obligations to protect the civil rights of limited English proficient (LEP) persons.”  (Oct 12, 2010 | post #76)

OK Health Care Freedom Amendment, State Question 756

I'm voting yes along with what looks like will be the majority of you who don't want to be trod on. When this state constitutional amendment passes and becomes law I plan on making some changes. I will be dropping all of my healthcare insurance I now have. I figure if most of the Oklahomans want to pay for my healthcare when I get sick and go to the ER without any insurance, hey, who am I to stand in their way? I'm also voting yes on SQ 751. English language only: " These language requirements apply to the State's "official actions." The term "official actions" is not defined. The legislature could pass laws determining the application of the language requirements. The Legislature would also pass laws implementing and enforcing the language requirements. " Any time I see the phrase "The term "official actions" is not defined.", I'm all for it. Especially when it comes to amending the constitiution of the state. Give'em a blank check. Representative Mike Brown doesn't feel the issue should be on the ballot, and sees no problems in the state in the current situation. According Brown, when commenting on voters, "I hope people are educated enough to realize English is our official language. Losing my religion: Atheists' billboard, Satanists' meeti...

For a moment there I thought you were talking about the atomic bomb that exploded over Hiroshima and killed civilian women and children in addition to soldiers. Approximately 70,000 died immediately from the explosion and another 70,000 died from radiation within five years. Approximately 40 percent of Nagasaki was destroyed. Luckily for many civilians living in Nagasaki, though this atomic bomb was considered much stronger than the one exploded over Hiroshima, the terrain of Nagasaki prevented the bomb from doing as much damage. Yet the decimation was still great. With a population of 270,000, approximately 70,000 people died by the end of the year. Kind of makes your citations pale by comparison don't you think?  (Oct 6, 2010 | post #139)

Where's Mary Fallin

Is Mary not on the Oklahoma taxpayer's payroll any longer? I could have sworn she was still an elected representative to Washington from Oklahoma. Where is she when her vote was really needed? DCMary refuses to show up, even when her one vote could have forced Congress to deal with the tax issue! "Could U.S. Rep. Mary Fallin have prevented the House from adjourning without addressing the extension of the tax cuts set to expire at the end of the year? A Democratic resolution to adjourn passed by a single vote today, 210-209, after House Republican Leader John Boehner urged members to vote against it so the House could take up extension of tax cuts passed during former President George W. Bush’s administration. Fallin, R-Oklahoma City, who has not returned to Washington since the Labor Day break ended so she could focus on her gubernatorial campaign, missed the vote. She was one of 14 House members who did not vote on the bill." Let me repeat that,...." has not returned to Washington since the Labor Day break ended so she could focus on her gubernatorial campaign" "Congresswoma n and gubernatorial candidate Mary Fallin has missed 26 votes in Congress since the recess ended in August--including the Small Business Jobs Act passed last week, which will greatly benefit the small businesses of Oklahoma." Let me repeat that, "Fallin has missed 26 votes in Congress since the recess ended in August--including the Small Business Jobs Act ....". Pastor Probed for Backing Conservative Pol

Obviously you have your mind made up so I won't confuse you with facts and the truth. Just one item I would request you research: Anita Bryant....Google "Anita Bryant Kill A Queer For Christ" and look over the results. This was 30 years ago and the hate goes on. As for all of your biblical rhetoric and quoting I would offer the folling quote: “More people have been slaughtered in the name of religion than for any other single reason. That, my friends, that is true perversion.” - Harvey Milk 1977  (Aug 20, 2010 | post #15)

Gay Marriage - Norman, OK

Inter-Racial marriage was the end of civilization as we know it back in my younger days. The prophets of doom were wrong then also. I see no reason why two human beings should not be able to have the same legal rights as any other two human beings. Given the track record of marriage here in Oklahoma however, I can't see why anyone would really want to get married.  (Aug 19, 2010 | post #9)

Do you think the "To Catch a Predator" series goes too far?

I don't watch that show anymore, mainly due to Chris Hansen's holier than thou arrogant attitude. Just once I would like to see one of those guys, after being berated over and over by Hansen, get up and kick the dog sh*t out of him before the camera crew can get there to help ole Chrise. Hey, the guys going to jail anyway...why not go for something good.  (Jul 11, 2010 | post #35)
