Occupy DC protest I.Q. level exposed

Police said early Saturday that a driver will not be charged for striking three people taking part in an Occupy DC protest in downtown Washington. Lt. Christopher Micciche of the D.C. police said the driver was not cited because he had a green light when his vehicle struck the three on Friday night. He said witnesses told police that the three pedestrians "either ran toward or jumped in front of the moving vehicle." He said one pedestrian jumped on the hood of the car. One of them was cited for being in the roadway. "The protesters were apparently trying to block the roadway," Micciche said. "It was essentially an accident where three individuals were injured but they were in violation by being in the road. If they keep this up it will be a short protest  (Nov 5, 2011 | post #1)

Another reason to vote Obama, change yea right.

Me no bad Obama is bad along with most of Congress. Americans' opinion of President Barack Obama's healthcare reform in October reached its lowest point since the law passed in March 2010, according to a monthly poll by the non-profit, non-partisan Kaiser Family Foundation. The view of the law has been roughly evenly split since its passage, but in October 51 percent said they had an unfavorable opinion, while 34 percent said their opinion was favorable, poll results released on Friday showed. In September, the split was 43 percent to 41 percent. And October's gap is closest to the one the poll tracked in July 2010, when the division was 50 percent to 35 percent. The gap widened largely because the law appeared to be falling out of favor with Democrats, whose support dropped to its lowest point of 52 percent from 65 percent in September. Although Democrats were still much likelier to view the law favorably than Republicans or independents, the percentage of Democrats who said they and their families were better off under the healthcare law dropped significantly to 27 percent in October from 43 percent in September.  (Oct 28, 2011 | post #3)

The haircut

Haircut One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut. After the cut, he asked about his bill, and the barber replied, 'I cannot accept money from you , I'm doing community service this week.' The florist was pleased and left the shop. When the barber went to open his shop the next morning, there was a 'thank you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door. Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from you , I'm doing community service this week..' The cop was happy and left the shop. The next morning when the barber went to open up, there was a 'thank you' card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door. Then a Congressman came in for a haircut, and when he went to pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I can not accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The Congressman was very happy and left the shop. The next morning, when the barber went to open up, there were a dozen Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut. And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the citizens of our country and the politicians who run it. BOTH POLITICIANS AND DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON!  (Oct 27, 2011 | post #1)

Ive been posting in small town forums for years ,mainly those In towns i come from or have lived for extensive peoiods of time..One think Ive seen is people will start rumors about others and often tell outright lives about others because they can do it from behind a fake screen name. They tend to be cowards who would not have the nerve to use thier real name ,but there are just a few who perfer to remain unknown for legtimate reasons. Many will lie and lie about you over and oner. Ive had some real whoppers told about me in the past.MY BEST ADVISE TO ALL OF YOU IS DONT PAY ANY ATTENTION TO IT .Clearly your dealing with people who dont have a clue and have a distorted sense of reality.Be like budda and just try to not step on them and crush them by accident , they dont know better and frankly cant help them selfs at all. They get jollies out of resopnding and the best thing you can do is take that awawy from them.  (Oct 25, 2011 | post #1)

Melbourne neighborhood objects to feeding plan

I have had a lot of dealing with homeless over the years and can say I have seen the best and bad side of the issue. Ive seen homeless that were good people just down on thier luck and honest religious and just in general good people.Others that are that way because of mental issues and some are homeless because they are the criminal types and those addicted to dope and or booze. Some because they are lazy. Some just lost thier jobs and or support system and have not been able to recover it.Some have serious health issue and are unable to better them self. There are many reasons for people to be homeless and all are not bad .Sadly you can only do so much with those who are the criminal type and or addicts . They generally dont follow all the rules and cant be trusted Many are aggressive and physically dangerous. The mentally ill are often mixed in these groups and often it can be hard to tell if its a mental issue or are they criminal type and or addicts. There is no easy answer to these issues.I wish I could say I have a answer to it.We must face the truth there are some people in the world that can not be helped, dont want help and are incapable of fitting into society for various reasons. Some we can help some we can not.Often we must devote our resources to those who we see have the most potential and who try to fit in the system. Let us not forget the story of the beaver who carried the deadly scorpion across the river in a effort to be kind and help the scorpion. The scorpion bit the beaver and the beaver asked why did you do that. The scorpion replied you knew i was a scorpion when i climbed on your back what did you expect. As a American I see us trying to help the entire world be every ones friend .We must face the facts we cant do this either. We can only help those who really want a hand to help pull them up.The cradle to the grave care and help just isnt going to ever happen for all.Yes its a tragedy but its reality.  (Oct 17, 2011 | post #3)

Some historyof the Vietnam Memorial Wall

service began on Independence Day, 1966. Only 3 returned home. Ã,· The Buddies of Midvale - LeRoy Tafoya, Jimmy Martinez, Tom Gonzales were all boyhood friends and lived on three consecutive streets in Midvale, Utah on Fifth, Sixth and Seventh avenues. They lived only a few yards apart. They played ball at the adjacent sandlot ball field. And they all went to Vietnam . In a span of 16 dark days in late 1967, all three would be killed. LeRoy was killed on Wednesday, Nov. 22, the fourth anniversary of John F. Kennedys assassination. Jimmy died less than 24 hours later on Thanksgiving Day. Tom was shot dead assaulting the enemy on Dec. 7, Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. Ã,· The most casualty deaths for a single day was on January 31, 1968 ~ 245 deaths. Ã,· The most casualty deaths for a single month was May 1968 - 2,415 casualties were incurred. For most Americans who read this they will only see the numbers that the Vietnam War created. To those of us who survived the war, and to the families of those who did not, we see the faces, we feel the pain that these numbers created. We are, until we too pass away, haunted with these numbers, because they were our friends, fathers, husbands, wives, sons and daughters. There are no noble wars, just noble warriors. Please pass this on to those who served during this time, and those who DO Care.  (Oct 15, 2011 | post #2)

Some historyof the Vietnam Memorial Wall

A little history most people will never know. Interesting Veterans Statistics off the Vietnam Memorial Wall "Carved on these walls is the story of America, of a continuing quest to preserve both Democracy and decency, and to protect a national treasure that we call the American dream." ~President George Bush SOMETHING to think about - Most of the surviving Parents are now Deceased. There are 58,267 names now listed on that polished black wall, including those added in 2010. The names are arranged in the order in which they were taken from us by date and within each date the names are alphabetized. It is hard to believe it is 36 years since the last casualties. Beginning at the apex on panel 1E and going out to the end of the East wall, appearing to recede into the earth (numbered 70E - May 25, 1968), then resuming at the end of the West wall, as the wall emerges from the earth (numbered 70W - continuing May 25, 1968) and ending with a date in 1975. Thus the war's beginning and end meet. The war is complete, coming full circle, yet broken by the earth that bounds the angle's open side and contained within the earth itself. The first known casualty was Richard B. Fitzgibbon, of North Weymouth , Mass. Listed by the U.S. Department of Defense as having been killed on June 8, 1956. His name is listed on the Wall with that of his son, Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Richard B. Fitzgibbon III, who was killed on Sept. 7, 1965. Ã,· There are three sets of fathers and sons on the Wall. Ã,· 39,996 on the Wall were just 22 or younger. Ã,· 8,283 were just 19 years old. The largest age group, 33,103 were 18 years old. Ã,· 12 soldiers on the Wall were 17 years old. Ã,· 5 soldiers on the Wall were 16 years old. Ã,· One soldier, PFC Dan Bullock was 15 years old. Ã,· 997 soldiers were killed on their first day in Vietnam. Ã,· 1,448 soldiers were killed on their last day in Vietnam. Ã,· 31 sets of brothers are on the Wall. Ã,· Thirty one sets of parents lost two of their sons. Ã,· 54 soldiers on attended Thomas Edison High School in Philadelphia. I wonder why so many from one school. Ã,· 8 Women are on the Wall. Nursing the wounded. Ã,· 244 soldiers were awarded the Medal of Honor during the Vietnam War; 153 of them are on the Wall. Ã,· Beallsville, Ohio with a population of 475 lost 6 of her sons. Ã,· West Virginia had the highest casualty rate per capita in the nation. There are 711 West Virginians on the Wall. Ã,· The Marines of Morenci - They led some of the scrappiest high school football and basketball teams that the little Arizona copper town of Morenci (pop. 5,058) had ever known and cheered. They enjoyed roaring beer busts. In quieter moments, they rode horses along the Coronado Trail, stalked deer in the Apache National Forest . And in the patriotic camaraderie typical of Morenci's mining families, the nine graduates of Morenci High enlisted as a group in the Marine Corps. Their  (Oct 15, 2011 | post #1)

Christianity is now the target of persecution...

I FIND IT INTERESTING THAT A HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL CAN SEE THE PROBLEM, BUT OUR SOCIETY CANNOT. Tennessee Football This is a statement that was read over the PA system at the football game at Roane County High School , Kingston , Tennessee by school Principal, Jody McLeod "It has always been the custom at Roane County High School football games, to say a prayer and play the National Anthem, to honor God and Country." Due to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court, I am told that saying a Prayer is a violation of Federal Case Law. As I understand the law at this time, I can use this public facility to approve of sexual perversion and call it "an alternate life style," and if someone is offended, that's OK. I can use it to condone sexual promiscuity, by dispensing condoms and calling it, "safe sex." If someone is offended, that's OK. I can even use this public facility to present the merits of killing an unborn baby as a "viable! Means of birth control." If someone is offended, no problem... I can designate a school day as "Earth Day" and involve students in activities to worship religiously and praise the goddess "Mother Earth" and call it "ecology.. " I can use literature, videos and presentations in the classroom that depicts people with strong, traditional Christian convictions as "simple minded" and "ignorant " and call it "enlightenmen t.." However, if anyone uses this facility to honor GOD and to ask HIM to Bless this event with safety and good sportsmanship, then Federal Case Law is violated. This appears to be inconsistent at best, and at worst, diabolical. Apparently, we are to be tolerant of everything and anyone, except GOD and HIS Commandments. Nevertheless , as a school principal, I frequently ask staff and students to abide by rules with which they do not necessarily agree. For me to do otherwise would be inconsistent at best, and at worst, hypocritical. I suffer from that affliction enough unintentionally. I certainly do not need to add an intentional transgression. For this reason, I shall "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's," and refrain from praying at this time. " However, if you feel inspired to honor, praise and thank GOD and ask HIM,in the name of JESUS, to Bless this event, please feel free to do so.. As far as I know, that's not against the law----yet." One by one, the people in the stands bowed their heads, held hands with one another and began to pray. They prayed in the stands. They prayed in the team huddles. They prayed at the concession stand and they prayed in the Announcer's Box! The only place they didn't pray was in the Supreme Court of the United States of America- the Seat of "Justice " in the "one nation, under GOD." Somehow, Kingston , Tennessee Remembered what so many have forgotten. We are given the Freedom OF Religion, not the FreedomFROM ReligionPraise GOD that HIS remnant remains! JESUS said, "If you are ashamed of ME before men, then I will be ashamed of you before MY FATHER.." If you are not ashamed, pass this on .. I'm not one bit ashamed to pass this on, Are you?  (Oct 7, 2011 | post #1)
