Let's Play A Game GPD

I actually think this is a good idea. But not just for the GDP. I think it should go for everyone driving in Glasgow. I can't tell you the number of times I have been going the speed limit and someone has flew past me, or rand a red light or ran a stop sign or was dangerous. I want to turn in those people, because there is never anyone around when that happens. But not the one time I slip up in 10 years and don't pay attention BAM! I get a speeding ticket. How is that fair?  (Jan 18, 2013 | post #12)

How much do you spend a month on food??

My family does receive food stamps, but not anywhere near $800!!! Someone is pulling your leg to get you guys arguing. We receive $180 a month for food stamps and I spend at least another $150, so total we spend around $300+ for our grocery budget for a family of four. I go to Food Lion for the markdowns on meats and frozen veggies. I stash them in my freezer until we are ready to use them. Everything else I mostly shop at Save A Lot. I always make soup at least 2 to 5 times in a month and I use my slow cooker a lot. Chicken thighs are cheap and you can make any number of casseroles/soups using them. Meals We Frequently Have... Chicken Thigh Stew & Corn Bread 15 Bean Soup & Corn Bread Chicken Thigh Chili & Corn Bread BBQ Sandwiches, Mac & Cheese and Green Beans Chili Dogs & Mac N Cheese Spaghetti & Garlic Bread Meatloaf, Mac & Cheese, Green Beans I have a grill with interchangeable plate things I make homemade waffles in and freeze for quick breakfasts. Pancakes are also very inexpensive for a family breakfast. Cereal and milk is also inexpensive. Don't buy junk cereal! I buy store brand/Malt O Meal multi grain Cheerios, raisin brand crunch, frosted mini wheats, etc. You can buy box cereal @ Save A Lot for about $2 a box. The biggest budget helper is to eat your leftovers! Don't throw good food away. I cook a big meal one night and I don't cook the next night so we eat our leftovers. My family on leftover night has the option of leftovers or cold cereal.  (Jan 18, 2013 | post #6)

Judge

Bible Verses Luke "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven." Mathew 7:1 "Do not judge, or you too will be judged." John 8:7 "When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."  (Jan 11, 2013 | post #2)

Wake up,take back your stolen future!

That is a very interesting statistic. I honestly feel that all government employees should make minimum wage, that goes for the President, Vice President, Congress, Military etc. Let's see how fast Congress would act to up the wages to a decent level.  (Jan 11, 2013 | post #7)

TJ Samson Labor & Delivery

With my Oldest daughter, I received a breast pump, numerous coupons and parenting magazines, the yard sign, a very nice metal time capsule, and a few other random little things. She was born in October 2006 My baby daughter was born in May 2011. My husband and I received a special parent dinner. I think it was sirloin steak with a loaded potato and side salad. No yard sign. A gift package of wipes, diapers, etc. Just little stuff. Overall it was much much less than we received when our oldest daughter was born.  (Jan 11, 2013 | post #17)

No insurance first offense

We are with State Farm Insurance. We have a 2004 PT Cruiser and a 2007 Chevy Silverado. The Silverado is on full coverage, we are still paying the loan for it. The Cruiser is on liability. I have not had a wreck since 2003 when I tapped a guy in a parking lot who had no brake lights -.-  (Jan 11, 2013 | post #9)

No insurance first offense

My opinion is don't drive!!! My family struggles as it is, and that $200 a month for auto insurance would be nice to use elsewhere. BUT we pay it because it's the law and you HAVE to have auto insurance. I would be royally pissed if someone hit me and didn't have auto insurance. They had better not expect a dime from my insurer AND they had better be expected to get sued!  (Jan 11, 2013 | post #7)

Where To Buy Frozen Yogurt In Glasgow, KY

Is there anywhere in Glasgow to buy fresh frozen yogurt? My daughters love ice cream, but I would prefer they eat something a little better. I remember Dairy Queen used to sell frozen yogurt, but stopped. There was also a gas station on Columbia Ave. but they too have stopped selling it. I can buy it from the grocery store and it is OK, but I would much rather have soft serve style frozen yogurt. Thank you for all helpful replies =)  (Jan 11, 2013 | post #1)
