GOP: Taylor concert equaled vote buying

Way to to local GOP officals. Sounds like McCarthyism to me. Bringing in liberals to corrupt the vote. I'd change my vote over a free concert%#$&^%$ . The GOP is really struggling. I liked the concert better than Hank Jr. on stage singing a lame **** song about McCain/Palin at her rallys lately to the tune of Family Tradition. I like Hank, don't get me wrong, but to say JT was buying my vote! Find something else to whine about.......  (Oct 24, 2008 | post #16)

Kicker Gamez a major weapon for Mountaineers

I have seen this kid twice and WOW! What a weapon. He will only get better. I hope he stays around here at the next level so we can watch him. WCU would be lucky to get him. I hope his academic interests are avaliable at WCU, Mars Hill or Bevard. Sounds like he will be an outstanding Student-Athlete.  (Oct 21, 2008 | post #1)

Palin comes to NC today with Hank Williams Jr.

That's who I get to come to town with me if I were running for VP. If you think Palin is a loose canon what till old Hank rolls one up and chugs a half of bottle of JD....Palin will be headed to rehab after this visit..another Republican victory.....she should have gotten David Alan Coe too.......  (Oct 16, 2008 | post #18)

A-B Tech's Brumit Center opens

Thanks Joe and Janice. Education is the key and you are a big part of the process at AB Tech. UNCA could use your willingness to help and support.  (Oct 8, 2008 | post #1)

Half a tank away gas costs less

Amazing how greed works. If you know the Market Center owner you know why the gas is so high there. They were gouging before the hurricane.  (Sep 19, 2008 | post #10)

Convenience store chain calls for calm as people crowd pumps

Make some copies of the above post and put them on the counter at your local gas station and watch them squirm. Even better call the toll free number and report them. We have to stand up to them sometime. Now is my choice.  (Sep 12, 2008 | post #13)

Convenience store chain calls for calm as people crowd pumps

Roy Cooper and Mike Easley declare Anti-Gouging Law in affect today. 9-12-2008 Consumers with complaints about price gouging can call the attorney general's Consumer Protection Division toll free at 1-877-566-7226 or download a price gouging complaint form from www.ncdoj.gov and mail it to the Attorney General's Office. Background:Price gouging—or charging unreasonably excessive prices in times of crisis—violates North Carolina General Statute 75-38, when a disaster, an emergency or an abnormal market disruption for critical goods and services is declared or proclaimed by the Governor. The price gouging law, which Cooper helped strengthen in 2006, also applies to all levels of the supply chain from the manufacturer to the distributor to the retailer.  (Sep 12, 2008 | post #12)

Developer gives timeline for removing tree

I am a native. I've cut down trees, climbed them as a kid, built a house with them and even play a guitar made from one... now the real point! Why would you even begin to think a freaking project like this would be nice at the courthouse, city building and the Police/Fire dept? The old Hayes and Hopson building is a nice building. I hope the project gets canceled and the tree provides shade for my grand kids at Bele Chere for years to come. Give em' hell earthies........  (Aug 8, 2008 | post #150)
