Destroying The "BUSH LIED!" Lie

QUOTE who="BoatsNHo es"]"Wit hout question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real..." -- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003 [/QUOTEYou can't give someone false information ( lie to them ) and then cast blame of them later for disemenating this information in their rhetoric. You are a fool.  (Mar 18, 2010 | post #179)

One problem was it was Haliburton and KBR that were doing a majority of the work and they get paid by the hour.  (Mar 18, 2010 | post #178)

Destroying The "BUSH LIED!" Lie

From the knowledge of history you have discribed through your many TOPIX posts it is quite obvious that those books you've been reading about history must have been misslabled and should have been in the fiction section of the bookstore. This is the same area of the store that will carry your imagined Dubbya history.  (Mar 18, 2010 | post #177)

Destroying The "BUSH LIED!" Lie

Previous post messed up with the quotes to sorry about this corrected repostingI'm calling BS on this argument. This is as good as listening to Karl Rove talk about the clear evidence of Sadam's possession of WMD's before the war. Neither Hillary Clinton, nor Karl Rove ever saw any CIA briefing reports or DIA threat assessments while they were in the White House. KR was Dubbya's POLITICAL ADVISOR; as such he would not have had sufficient security clearance to be privy to this. Hillary was only FLOTUS when she lived in the White House and this too does not come with a security clearance. Any supposed knowledge would be from hearsay and has no validityBeing an elected member of congress does not come with a security clearance either. Only very few members are allowed to view or attend such briefings and they are bound by law as to how they may use this information. They may not tell anyone about what they were briefed on and cannot take notesKettle meet Black. Your inability to understand fundamentals of national security are as laughable as your arguments tend to be.  (Mar 18, 2010 | post #176)

It's simple dude, GW and the rest of the Repugnican party are too stupid to think of something like that until years down the line. Why has the British Government NEVER retracted any of the claims that were unearthed in the Downing Street Memo? The head of the British Intelligence Service stated that the GW Bush admin was "fixing the intel to fit their narrative"  (Mar 11, 2010 | post #16)

ACLU Asks Court To Strike Down Arkansas Parenting Ban

On behalf of my 2000th post: B L O W M E S T E V E ; It sickens me to think that people like yourselfs are entrusted to raising children. I hope you have as much respect for what the bible has to say about raising your child as you do for the gays. Do you believe in stoning your children steve?  (Feb 26, 2010 | post #1991)

Look, I've told you this before; and on numerous threads: You are flat out wrong. NOBODY chooses to whom they are sexually attracted to. DO NOT try and conflate two consenting adults engaged in a lawful activity with criminal acts of violence. We couldn't give spit about what the "vast majority of the society" thinks or wishes. The vast majority has historically been on the wrong side of civil and social justice issues. You are just gonna have to get over that icky feeling you get when you think gay thoughts. And, oh. Don't be alarmed if you get turgid when having those kinds of thoughts. Hint, hint: repression begets oppression.  (Feb 26, 2010 | post #1990)

Open thread: Heath-care summit

You know, the repugnicans in that room today blew a hellofa good chance to air out all their good ideas for reforming healthcare by instead parroting talking points and sound-bites and good ol' campaign wing shots. Every single one of them. If you took out the time they were saying "Clean Sheet" and "Start Over" and "Step by Step" they would have had a good extra hour to wrangle something. It was pathetic, kabooki theater of the absurd. Time to leave these characters in the dust pan of history and just pass the bill with 50 + Joe Biden, ram it down their obstructionist throats. You cannot negotiate with a brick wall.  (Feb 26, 2010 | post #31)

When you learn the truth, I won't have to bring it up anymore. When state and federal come into conflict, federal wins. Article 6 section 2.  (Feb 3, 2010 | post #8114)

The laws of this state are as such, BECAUSE of religious intolerance and NO OTHER REASON. I didn't CHOOSE to be gay. I have chosen to live my life openly and without shame as is the right of every american, regardless of what others think. Societies failure to acknowledge the validity of my relationship, is the consequence of religious dogma. Many a time in this country laws have been past that are immoral, unjust, and unconstitutional. Even though my fellow arkansas voters saw fit to change the constituion and the law to exclude me from my civil rights, this does not mean that it is right, fair, or even within the latitude of states rights to do so. I do not believe that any state has the authority under our constitution to do what has been done. This fight is far from over, and ultimately it will be the supreme court that decides if states can flout the constitution of the nation. It is one thing to go out into the weather without a coat, it is quite another for the state to say you may not don your winter coat before you step outside.  (Feb 3, 2010 | post #1890)
