Take this one. No secure person could be made to feel some type of way. Date who you want, it's none of anyone's concern. But if you don't do it for the right reasons, you'll never be happy. I don't care who anybody dates, Black people have redefined the meaning of a relationship and I want no part of it. I'm more concerned about this new Black culture that my children will be exposed to one day.  (Oct 31, 2014 | post #27)

Should We Biracials Be Recognized As A Seperate Race From...

My family has a lot of mixture as well. Most, if not all biracial/multiraci al or just light-skinned babies will get a shade or two darker. Just what Uru said. Check the ears, most of the time you'll have a clue as to what it will be. Btw, your babe is a handsome little fellow, and will be regardless of his skin tone. Just teach him to love ALL of him please :)  (Oct 31, 2014 | post #59)

I don't mean to question you because what you relate to is your business, but I thought you'd said you never met your father. So how can you relate to the white side more? And is it looks or culture?  (Oct 31, 2014 | post #58)

Whatt?? Is your son adopted?? Honey, you are Black :) Or if your dad is white you're biracial, and your son is multiracial. I can guarantee that as he gets older he won't look white.  (Oct 31, 2014 | post #47)

Get off her case. I don't want to marry an American Black either, that doesn't mean I don't care about the Black community in general. I just don't see myself having a romantic relationship with them.  (Oct 31, 2014 | post #20)

Is the AA community improving or getting worse?

This post here proves my point. This is the mindset of the typical Black American. Selfish and no resemblance of empathy for his or her fellow man. People are hurting all around, and it's more than just their environment or genetics. Go to the inner city urban areas and visit the playground. Volunteer a couple days a week at the homeless shelter. Become someone's Big Brother or Sister. Take a break from your plush and comfortable lifestyle and look around. If you aren't the philanthropic type, just show some compassion. If you can't do that, why add to the problem?? How do you differentiate between Blacks and Negroes?? Are you better than them because you got a leg up?? Someone helped you out, why not be a blessing to those less fortunate rather than a curse?? This is more than a Black problem, but I'm disgusted that Blacks such as these have the same morals and ethics and views as their ancestors' masters.  (Oct 30, 2014 | post #28)

The President is Black African, part White American. Although he is the quintessential African-American, he has no ties to us (native??) Black Americans other than his wife. It's ok to be proud of him, but unwise to be complacent. We still have issues, such as the mentality of slave-descendants and the rising ghetto thug culture.  (Oct 30, 2014 | post #26)

I'm aware of that. Your last post to me, about the Black (biracial) president, rappers, athletes and what not discredits your argument. I could tell you how if I need to. Being Black is not something to be proud of with these people. Unless they are able to exploit themselves and us. For the most part, all I see is a bunch of greedy and selfish people. With a low standard of living and a low expectation of life.  (Oct 30, 2014 | post #25)

Is the AA community improving or getting worse?

Guess I'll go deeper lol.. Let's be honest. If you define community in the same way I do, which is a group of people with similar interests, goals, geographical location, etc., the Black community hasn't appeared to be united since The Civil Rights movement. I wasn't around back then but I study history and I would pinpoint one critical moment was MLK's assassination. There are progressive and upwardly mobile Blacks today, but there's no unified effort to achieve further advancement. To sum it all up, we're just Americans w/o a real culture. Get what I'm saying? And don't worry, the media does not influence me. Everything I say is my own thoughts and not overly perpetuated rubbish.  (Oct 29, 2014 | post #10)

Just do you. People like me, who although aren't particularly comfortable with mainstream Black culture, but has had a mainly positive Black experience just go with Black or AA. But for biracials or multi's that are insecure or having identity issues or just plain looking for attention, you should invent a name that distinguishes and separates you from those in which society or your perception of society may view unfavorably.  (Oct 29, 2014 | post #10)
