A movie truckers will enjoy liistening to...
I have a reason for recommending this movie, JOHNNY BERLIN, to truckers. First, Johnny is a ramblin' man. He's on the road all the time, but on a train, rather than a truck. He's funnier than you can imagine until you see the film, and he used to work as a radio DJ, so this is the kind of film you can actually just listen to while driving and get almost the same amount of information from it as if you were watching it. I highly recommend it... This movie is an offbeat, and humorous portrait of mid-life crisis. The film begins with the rhythm and twang of Johnny Cash’s “Hey, Porter,” and rolls on from there. Johnny Berlin – 56-minute documentary Executive-Produced by Michael Stipe. Jon Hyrns, AKA Johnny Berlin, a porter aboard a luxury train, expounds upon his life as a struggling writer while holding down a workaday job and trying to maintain some semblance of a life on board the train. The stories he tells while on a week-long trip down the West Coast from Seattle to Los Angeles are simultaneously funny and dark. It is ultimately an intimate, offbeat, and humorous portrait of mid-life crisis. The film begins with the rhythm and twang of Johnny Cash’s “Hey, Porter,” and rolls on from there.
