Health Care - St. Louis, MO

The Republicans have really done a masterful job with their propaganda. Most of you who vote against this bill, will benefit from it in a big way. There are many people who work peice together part time jobs for income and have no insurance, being able to get insurance with preexisting conditions is also a big plus. Here in Missouri the state requires us to carry auto liability insurance, this is forced on us because they said too many people were causing accidents and was not insured or underinsured, causing an undue burden to the victim that just got his car demolished. When we have people who are not able to visit a doctor for preventive care, we all pay for it just like that innocent victime who just got his car demolished. Also, I wonder how many of you are aware of the medical insurance package that these elected officials have for themselves and their families-wouldn't that be interesting to see them discuss that. People we have to think for ourselves and not fall victim to the propaganda machine that the Republicans operate so masterfully!  (Mar 18, 2011 | post #204)

Is the phrase "once you go black you never go back" alway...

Don't let ignorant people take you there. Its too bad that you had that experience with your baby's daddy. I wish you well in all that you do!  (Mar 7, 2011 | post #23)

2010 Census: North County demographic changes

Dan, Good luck to you and Springfield. I am sure you don't have a hidden agenda, as I am sure that you will see change in Springfield as well in a couple of decades. Eventually we all will have to live with each other and we must start having serious conversation, without being politically correct or without being offended or thinking people have hidden agendas. I think most people are not racist but have prejudices based on misinformation. Many whites point to communities that have become majority black and say, "look how they brought down the area", I wonder if that really is the case or maybe there were economic/political issues that led to the decay of these neighborhoods. I also believe that blacks who have moved into previously majority white neighborhoods are first generation homeowners and need to take better care of their properties. In conclusion,I also believe that the second generation black homeowner is better prepared for homeownership and more sophisticated in leveraging political resources.  (Mar 2, 2011 | post #25)

Jamestown Mall Memories

It seems obvious to me that our city can only handle a few malls. The city developers and business owners need to show some creativity to bring Jamestown Mall to a point of profitability. It other words, "simply because you build it, does not mean they will come."  (Feb 28, 2011 | post #30)
