Thank you again for all your help I did send them a message and I received a message back that I was good to go. So I will be putting that letter on there again it is appreciated. This guys totally in the wrong and I don't know what else to do. The news paper said they won't publish it because it will end up as a civil matter. Someone told me they should have because they not doing it is against the Sunshine law in Missouri. If you have any more ideas please feel free to let me know. Thanks again  (Aug 10, 2013 | post #23)

Thank you once again for your assistance, I finally got a reply back that I'm good to go so I will be posting it on there more than likely tomorrow. I did send it the the Lebanon record but the editor said they couldn't publish because it will more than likely turn to a civil matter. I'm not familiar with the Missouri Sunshine Law but some body said they were going against for not publishing it I don't know but hopefully I'll be able to get it on this forum you told me about. Thank you once again for all your help  (Aug 9, 2013 | post #21)

I’ve went through the registering but I’m not able to post a trend, or even reply to a trend. It continually put this message: Blackhawk1, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system? If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation. I tried to contact them no word back, is there any advice you could give me?  (Aug 8, 2013 | post #18)

Cintinuation from another page Another hauler tells John that you said he could be the only one that could move the trailer, and then on the day and time of the move, he informs him you have changed your mind he also told John that he owes you money and if he went ahead and started moving it and you came up and told him to drop it, he would. I think it is sad that you would keep someone from making money at their job, which just goes to show you money talks. This is just 3 haulers the others just don’t want to get involved with you. Everyone John talk’s to say’s the same thing you don’t want to cross Alva Starnes but just because your rich don’t make you any better than anyone else you may think so but it doesn’t. You have now printed a sign and put in front of the trailer, stating that it cannot be moved because lot rent is owed and please contact you. I can't understand how you could even think you could legally hold someone else’s property in order to gain you more money this is nothing short of being out and out EXTORTION where is the law, we need to find out. You have now printed a sign and put in front of the trailer, stating that it cannot be moved because lot rent is owed. I have been informed that you feel John owes you money, if that’s the case then that would be a civil matter for the courts, not property being held for ransom. The law should be followed by all. You stated the law is on your side. People with money should have no more say than anyone else. This trailer does not belong to you and you have no legal right to hold something belonging to some one else. I could go on and on and I may pursue it further at a later date. It would be greatly appreciated if you would just inform the haulers that it is there right to move the said trailer for the price they quoted because it does not belong to you. Allow John to move on. The following’s a copy of a letter I’ve sent to Alva Starnes of Starnes Auto, please read it and tell me if being a land owner (landlord) gives this man the right to do what he is doing? Thank you; John W. Shepherd Sr. Monday, August 05, 2013 To: Alva Starnes; Starnes Auto 22115 Route 66 Lebanon MO. 65366 From: John W. Shepherd Sr 1427 64th Street Windsor Heights, Iowa 50324 This is to inform you that the following trailer is not abandoned: Year: 1990 Model and Make: Gild Body Style: MFGHM Located: Interstate Mobile Park 22042 Highway MM, Lebanon, MO 65536 Owner of said home is: John W. Shepherd, Jr. Said Notice of Non-Abandonment has been posted for some time in said trailer As you see this letter is going to others, this is so they can see what you’re trying to do and how you’re doing it. The following is some of what I know to be true and some is second hand information, but if you look at the big picture the second hand information’s more than likely true also. But I do believe a man is as good as his word no more and no less. Your word to John was that you don't have anything to worry about with all your property, but the previous owner does. I assume that is why you have never tried to collect any rent from John or the previous owner since May 1, 2013 I personally was there when your wife drove through back in May and every month since collecting rent she never stopped by John’s or the previous owners trailer. John did check with others they couldn’t understand why she never tried to get his rent. I was told if you collected rent, John then became a tenant of the trailer park, which was his hope to do. You verbally stated to John he could live in the trailer that’s ready to be moved and which is not in a livable manner, but not the trailer that was livable and already in the park, You informed him not to move the trailer that was livable. Upon movement of that said trailer you pursued John to his Mother's home and stated “I told you not to move that trailer" which up set his mother and made her very nervous. That trailer being one you had hoped to purchase from the previous owner, but could not come to an agreeable amount. I understand you quoted a price and never returned. Since not purchasing the 2 said trailers, owned by the previous land owner, you have been irate; calling her bad names you have stated she was crazy. I don't believe that to be very business like. You stated to someone that you would not mind if all the tenants moved out keep in mind there is a 91 year old women living there she would have no where to go; but yet you will not allow John to take his trailer and move out, Shame on you Alva Starnes. To this date you’ve never given John an eviction notice variable or other wise and you’ve never attempted to collect rent. The movement of this last trailer has been very traumatic in more ways than just one. When you have 4 movers come out, set up a time and date to move it, be all ready to go, and no one shows up, well what can I say. After trying to find out the reason why, I discover you have called each one of them stating not to move that trailer. It is hard to understand how you want someone to move, but won't allow it. One person who was there to prepare the trailer for moving, you had him removed by a deputy for trespassing, one hauler told John that if he went onto your property you would have his totter impounded.  (Aug 6, 2013 | post #13)

Alva Starnes of Starnes Auto

I was wondering if anyone else out there has had a bad dealing with Alva Starnes from Starnes Auto? I have a whole series of things I'd like to discuss about him and his dealings.  (Jul 14, 2013 | post #1)

Benny Ward @ All American Tree Service

This person you truly want to stay away from, he's not just a loser he's a scam artist in a lot of ways. I also know someone that worked for him and he ripped him off of his wages and then makes jokes about it, not only that I know the people that rents from and he's ripping them off of over $100.00 but I've been told he will be kicked out very very soon. He's a good talker and a con artist so beware he gets people to hire him but he create's damage, and for darned sure he don't take care of the people that work for him and with the shape the economy's in he's a dog for not paying his help for their hard earned wages. You want to find a tree service thats reputable and has a business you can check out, there way to many scam artist out there that feed off the elderly and the young.  (Aug 21, 2010 | post #3)
