i travel, yes. some countries i go to a lot, and other countries i have only been once. i've been to germany, austria, netherlands, finland, swizterland, czech republic, italy, canada (québec), sweden, jamaica, mexico, all over the US (except for the south, hawaii and alaska) and norway. i want to go to greenland. where have you been? sadly, i have to go to bed now, i just finished my last article and it's off to bed for me. but tell me which countries you've visted and i'll check in with topix later.  (Oct 7, 2011 | post #55)

i'm SO used to miami it's not even funny. actually, it's shows how people are sort of subconsciously wired to think certain things. a lot of cubans live in miami, my name is cuban mami.. i always get called cuban miami. i've never even been to miami.. lol all of my family lives in california and cuba.  (Oct 7, 2011 | post #49)

i wont lie, i was in favour of tenure when i wanted to be a professor. not so much now. so we agree on that. more than ever professors need to prove their worth and at my university they tenured profs had to publish and do research. i used to aid in that. i disagree with the socialist anti-american teachings though. it's ok to criticize and objectively scrutinize your government. and sometimes what you reveal may be shocking and hard to even fathom. and that may make you take what appears to be an anti-american stance. when nothing could be further from the truth. it is the principles upon which america was founded that gives people the right to question things and come to their own conclusions. if that is taught in some universities then it is up to the student or not whether they take said course. and if they notice a preponderance of profs are lecturing upon something they don't want to hear. maybe they need to find a new school. for instance.. i'd be much more comfy at UC Santa Cruz or CalTech.. than let's say. Harvard or Yale. and yes, bush was bad, he was really bad. obama is just the same ole same just like i said here on topix back when his ass was still running. the only thing that makes obama worse is that he actually won the nobel peace prize.  (Oct 7, 2011 | post #47)

you bring up very, very good points. i'm not saying that education for free has to be pushed upon people, but i do feel that a portion of misappropriated funds that are currently going to banksters, bailouts, the war machine and all other sorts of f*ckery could be better spent offering the People healthcare & free education. i'm starting my own business.. and i guarantee you if i don't dot my Is and cross my Ts.. LOl i'm just going to be assed out. no such thing as to big to fail etc. that's all i'm saying. i do agree with everything you say regarding not everyone needs an education, or how this country was built on people with a certain level of education.. yeah, it's called the WORKING CLASS. and we pretty much run this sh*t whether we know it or not. and the working class transcends all races or nationalities, countries or whatever. at the same time, surely you can't pooh-pooh and downplay the necessity of great minds and thinkers. i'm not saying EVERYONE has to be educated to the level of let's say a doctor. but i can tell you this, if i need like my gall bladder removed. i sure as f*ck don't want a welder doing it. the beautfy of america is.. we need everyone. actually, that's the beauty of the world. we all need each other at all of our various skill levels. if money could be better spent on something like libraries or afterschool programs, feeding the poor instead of bombs and terror and raining bombs.. sorry, i'm gonna have to go with the libraries dude.  (Oct 7, 2011 | post #46)

i dunno, i love food from all over t he world. my son and i recently started a blog where we're going to eat one meal per week from every country in the world. it'll take a little over 3 years. i love food from all over, but nothing is better than what i grew up eating. LOL i actually wrote an article today about 3 new year's main dish ideas.. and i HAD to include suckling pig (lechon). mmmmm tasty. btw.. i think the hawaiians cook pig the same.. heat source on top, so it's like our caja china.. BUT we just season it better. good stuff.  (Oct 7, 2011 | post #38)

lol i know as strange as it may seem, yes, a lot of our views are in alignment. which isn't terribly odd considering that it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize our country was founded on certain ideals and said ideals are being trampled, tap danced and encroached upon daily. i actually rarely give my poo-litical stance a "name" i vote according to the politician that does what i want them to lol after all.. my taxes are paid for a reason. typically i vote peace and freedom party across the board. it was my first political party i signed up for when i was 18. couldn't WAIT to register to vote and that's still my political party to this day. however, i vote republican, democrat, peace & freedom, lib, you name it. ultimately i can see through the bullsh*t and i realize unless we're voting for a 3rd party, we're just voting for another puppet. next year Dr. Paul will get my vote yet again.. even if i have to write him in again like 2008. as far as free education and broke @ss artists who want a free education. and so what if they do? don't we want america to be prosperous? you have to educate the masses. that is unless the masses are not meant to be educated. but rather kept dumbed down and oblvious to the egregious encroachments, disenfranchisement , poverty, austerity, outsourcing, poisoned food supply etc that keeps us complacent. hell i'm still paying off student loans and thankfully i only have like $3000 left. what if i wanted to go ahead and pursue my doctorate for nothing other than personal gratification? i'd be a broke b*tch right about now. bread and circus, my dear zaius... panem et circum. education should be a central for any well rounded citizen if americans are expected to compete globally with their peers. most americans don't even speak a 2nd language. hell yeah we need free education if we expect to compete globally in another other than making war.  (Oct 7, 2011 | post #35)

i read some reviews on yelp.. and they were like, "move the tables away from the port-a-potties ".. shame on me, i just thought.. f*ck it, i'll take my sh*t to go LOL. i've eaten at a place in the hood that had th BEST birria in LA. and they had roaches sometimes. i won't lie, i'd like inspect my food to make sure and then i wouldn't miss a beat. if it tastes good, i'll probably eat it.  (Oct 7, 2011 | post #32)

ok, good point, bad day diving or swimming in the ocean can be really really bad. i've had a few of those experiences. pretty recently actually when me and massimo got caught in a rip off of el matador. i wouldn't expect HIs water to be that cold. i guess in my head i have this illusion of warm water. when i went to jamaica i was so surprised how warm the water was. it was like bath water and our water is often in the 60s. i relatively recently got a new 3mm open cell smooth skin freediving suit from Elios.. haven't used it yet. my freediving partner just got married and his wife is a b*tch LOL. wouldn't have thought HI was chilly. guess i never really looked into it.  (Oct 7, 2011 | post #29)

well, that's a little beyond my scope, i haven't been here in a while, so that really doesn't concern me. zaius has always been respectful to me and in turn in treat him in kind. even though we share differing political opinions. you're gypsy.. i've only ever run across one gypsy in my life. actually a family of them, but that's a different story. do you mean like romany gypsy or pikey gypsy? and i know pikey isn't necessarily politically correct... just curious.  (Oct 7, 2011 | post #23)

am i the only one that eats off of roach coaches? some of the best tacos come from them. lol i didn't know you live in south florida. you're privy to some good Cuban food then. the only good cuban food i've had here comes out of my kitchen... well, we do have porto's bakery.. they're pretty good. but not like cuban home cooking. more like bakery/medianoches .  (Oct 7, 2011 | post #22)

actually.. we had some AWESOME swells a little bit ago from a storm in NZ. i didn't paddle out, but i crowded the shore with everyone else to watch the big balls have a go at it. i've never been to HI so i can't speak on their waves.. but from what i see, they look worth the price of admission. some days the pacific is like glass for us. eh, such is life, it's still worth it to be out there on the water, so to me it's never a bad day surfing. as far as the shrimp trucks.. meh, i only want to try them to see how they taste compared to camarones al mojo de ajo. they look the exact same so i want to try them. hahaha hawaiians probably got garlic shrimp from us. as far as that picture of the giovannis.. lol i've eaten off of taco trucks here in LA that look 20 times worse than that haha and they had great food.  (Oct 7, 2011 | post #17)
