Why would anyone want to coach directionless team?

About the only reason why someone would want to coach a directionless team would be because of the head coaching experience that would come with the position. Back when the Bulls were terrible, Tim Floyd knew what he was getting into and once he was fired, he went into another coaching position in New Orleans, of course he was fired there too, but one bad coaching position could sometimes lead to another head coaching position in the future.  (May 24, 2007 | post #60)

Winning Lottery Will Have Immediate Impact On Portland

The Trail Blazers are set for the next 10-15 years with winning the draft. In addition to having the best draft last year with drafting Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge, they will have Oden to lead them to multiple championships in the future. They also have Zach Randolph, who I think will be traded to get a veteran with some playoff experience. However, I don't think the Trail Blazers will make the playoffs next year. Remember, they are in the Western Conference and just about everyone other than Memphis stands a chance at making the playoffs next year. I just can't see them cracking the top eight next year. Pacers' pick, No. 11, goes to Hawks

Despite not having one of the top two overall picks, the Hawks won big last night. They didn't have to give their pick to the Suns since they got the #3 pick and they got the Pacers' first rounder. I'll be breaking down what I think every team in the lottery will do to try to help their team in the draft and in the offseason. My blog is As for the Pacers, they are going nowhere fast despite playing in the Eastern Conference. They need to trade Jermaine O'Neal because he deserves to play for a contender and the Pacers could use a good young point guard if they could get one for O'Neal. They might also want to try to trade for a first round pick in this year's draft because there really are a lot of good players in the draft this year not named Oden or Durant.  (May 23, 2007 | post #54)

Bulls will own Knicks' seat at NBA lottery

Imagine this trade if the Bulls manage to get the #1 pick tonight. It would probably be Tyrus Thomas and Greg Oden for Eddy Curry. It would easily be the worst move Isiah Thomas has ever made as GM of the Knicks. I agree that Isiah is the worst GM in sports history.  (May 22, 2007 | post #2)

Pistons shoot down Cavs

There's no way LeBron can have another shooting game like he did last night. I think he will score at least 25 points in game 2. One thing that isn't mentioned too much is that LeBron almost had a triple double last night.  (May 22, 2007 | post #69)

Lottery can reverse fortunes

I hope the Bulls win, then they can win championships again and I hope the Celtics lose, but only because I think they tanked this year. One interesting note about the lottery, if the Hawks don't get one of the top three picks, they give that pick to the Suns. I recently made a blog entry about this topic. NBA Basketball - Kings Name Head Coach Candidates

I can see Bibby and/or Artest going this offseason. If someone other than LeBron becomes a factor in the Eastern Conference finals for the Cavs, they should deal him for Bibby. Then a lot of pressure will be off LeBron to be the playmaker because Bibby would fill that role. I could see Artest going to the Lakers, although I really don't want to see him there. The Kings might trade him at a bargain price because he is a liability anywhere he goes off the court.  (May 21, 2007 | post #13)

Marbury Endorsing $14.98 Sneakers

I like what Marbury is doing. He designed good shoes and is selling them at an affordable price. It shows that he is not greedy, at least not financially. Other athletes and celebrities should follow his lead. Marbury is probably making some money for his shoes anyway.  (May 21, 2007 | post #15)

Pincus: Thinking Big

Crawford and Frye for Odom would have been a great deal for LA. If it was offered, they should have accepted.  (May 21, 2007 | post #2)

Is Kobe Bryant better than Michael Jordan?

They are both great players, but Jordan is clearly the better player. He was more unselfish, had a greater desire to win, won MVP awards while some of the all-time greats played, and won championships with multiple teams while playing with the Bulls. Kobe is great, but for now, he isn't a better player in the NBA than Jordan was.  (May 21, 2007 | post #431)

NBA Insider: To satisfy Kobe, Lakers face daunting offsea...

What the Lakers should have done was trade for Kidd at the deadline this year. He makes everyone better and he could have helped the Lakers advance past the first round of the playoffs this year.  (May 20, 2007 | post #88)

A real powerball lottery

The lottery will be quite interesting, especially if the Bulls get a top two pick and the Hawks would get the #4 pick and have to give it to Phoenix. If the Bulls get the #2 pick and Oden is already taken, I see them trading it for maybe a Garnett or Marion, possibly the missing link to a championship. One of my blog entries has some scenarios regarding the lottery. The link is  (May 20, 2007 | post #8)

The Best Player in The NBA - Lebron James

I think you could make a case that LeBron is the best player in the NBA because he has the Cavs in the conference finals without much of a supporting cast. I personally think Steve Nash is the best in the game today just because he makes his teammates better. Since he rejoined the Suns, the Suns won the division every year.  (May 20, 2007 | post #275)

Stoudemire, Diaw draw suspensions

My take on the Stoudemire/Diaw suspensions is that David Stern should not have suspended them because he didn't suspend Tim Duncan who left the bench earlier in the game. In my opinion, the Suns would have at least won game 5 had Stoudemire and Diaw not been suspended. After all, the Spurs won the game in the last minute despite the Suns' six man rotation for that game.  (May 20, 2007 | post #45)
