Grieving Family Blames Tire Company

I do feel sorry for the family of the guy that died. That's never a bit of good news to hear about. But unfortunately the family is pretty stupid if they actually try to go after the tire company. Reason being, point 1, just because a tire comes apart, that does'nt necisarily mean you're going to have an "impossibly controllable" vehicle. Tires go flat and come apart all the time, but it rarely causes fatal accidents. Point 2, "the car flipped and thew Sierra into nearby water", how did it throw him? Was he not wearing his seatbelt? If he was'nt, that's all the tire company's lawyer will need to hear. If he was wearing his seatbelt he would'nt have been thrown from the vehicle, hence, his chances of surviving this horrible accident would have been far greater. But I am fairly sure that there has been a whole bunch of info left out of the article though.  (May 20, 2009 | post #2)

Board Denies Church Rezoning

And besides, First Baptist Church won't allow any congregation to put their name on anything if they were'nt being paid their royalties on the name and forcing the leaders of that congregation into submission to doing what they want them to do, say, and even how to run their lives. Oh, and by the way, I did read the story, so stick that in your pipe and smoke it, then tell people how ignorant they are on the internet, that'll show em.  (May 17, 2009 | post #13)

Board Denies Church Rezoning

Wether it be "First Baptist Church" or "First Baptist Church of Mandarin" they are still tied to the same organization, and governed by the same greedy clergy and politicians as one another. So no matter what congregation their at it's still First Baptist Church, and unfortunately they run a whole lot more in this reigion than most people realize. And for once they've been turned down for something they want, and I say good for the people who turned them down.  (May 17, 2009 | post #12)

Jacksonville Residents Will Soon Pay Stormwater Fees

Gotta cover all those raises at city hall somehow. First it's by shortening school days and laying off teachers. And now lets add on a bogus stormwater tax to make sure it's fully covered.  (May 13, 2009 | post #1)

Board Denies Church Rezoning

I say good for them. FBC has their hands in too much these days. Why do they actually need a military sized compound in Duval/St. Johns Counties?? Are'nt they happy enough with owning half of downtown Jacksonville? Or does their greed know no bounds?  (May 13, 2009 | post #4)

Why do Floridianís oppose drilling off our coast?

I say drill away off the Florida coast. A few reasons why 1; If built and managed properly, drilling/pumping rigs are very effective and low polluting. 2; They would be out of sight from the shore. The ones on the Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas Coast lines can't beseen from the shore because they are beyond 7 miles out(average humans eyesight to the visible horizon at ocean level)3; Studies have shown where we have more oil deposites off of our own coasts than most of the countries that we shell out billions a year to buy. 4;If I have to deal with the occasional tar ball on the beach due to the rig, o-well, people that live within the Pacific volcanic ring live with them almost everyday as a naturally occuring event. There are just too many tree hugging pricks in our country that are more worried about a few fish and birds rather than the society and economy we live in  (Jun 19, 2008 | post #48)

Mother Of Boy Killed On Trestle Sues CSX

Gotta love it when people start throwing threats around like candy. Especially when they have no clue who they're talking to.  (Jun 19, 2008 | post #103)

Mother Of Boy Killed On Trestle Sues CSX

Point one, the kid was an idiot. He should have jumped out of the way off the trestle. Not to mention there are "NO TRESSPASSING, PROPERTY OF CSX" signs on both ends of the bridge. Did he really think a train was'nt going to come around at some point, last that I recall those are very busy tracks. A train every 2 to 3 hours, sometimes more often. Point two, CSX is one of the largest Corperations in the southeast US, and they have way better lawyers than some crackerjack attourney in Atlanta. It say's she is sueing CSX for in excess of 15K, that's simply because she's hopeing, on her attourneys advice mind you, that CSX will just settle out of court. 15K is such a small ammount to CSX that they'll just hand it over no questions asked. An old neighbor of mine used to work for CSX and made that every month in salary.  (Jun 15, 2008 | post #30)

Now how will you vote?

There was'nt a section for "I'm not voting", because I'm not. Once again, people actually think the popularity vote counts for anything. It does'nt!! This is crap you should have learned in 8th grade US Gov.,(that was 13 years ago for me and I still remember this) only the Electoral College can cast the vote to determain our next president, not the citizens. Granted it would be better if we could make that decision, but unfortunately that's not how it works. Hence forth, where's the selection for "I'm not voting"?  (Jun 8, 2008 | post #10)

JSO Honors Eureka Gardens

I said it once, I'll say it again. Me and my two brothers were raised fatherless, due to a car accident when I was 1 year old. And None of us have ever commited any violent crimes or any of the other so called "facts" that are listed. The facts are false!!  (Apr 16, 2008 | post #85)

Student Stabbed at Oceanway Middle School

I only have poor reading skills when what I am trying to read is poorly structured. It's "I'm sorry", or "I am sorry" not "I sorry". So go ahead and try to make me feel dumb again dillbert.  (Apr 13, 2008 | post #61)

Man I hate to say this, but before you go try to make a valid point. Be sure you know how to form a proper sentence. I seriously could'nt hardly understand what you were trying to state here.  (Apr 11, 2008 | post #55)

Jacksonville Journey Price Tag Tops $35 Million

WOW, 35 Million daollars, and all they could do is add 30 more cops. What a joke!! That will just allow more vacation time for the current cops, and not change a dang thing. You seriously got to be kidding me. Not to mention the kids have all the opportunities to get a good education, but they choose not to take advantage of that, and their parents are'nt pushing them to do so. Not saying that this goes to all parents, just the ones who sit on their butts and let their kids run wild.  (Apr 11, 2008 | post #17)
