Chagrin Falls Student Graduates Cum Laude at Davidson Col...

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- A Chagrin Falls student at Davidson College, John Gibbs Behm, was one of 449 seniors to graduate in Commencement exercises on Sunday, May 20. Behm is the son of Kim & Michael Behm of Treetower Drive (zip code 44023), and is a graduate of Kenston High School. A political science major at Davidson, Behm earned the BA degree cum laude. Behm was a Bonner Community Service Scholar at Davidson College and was Vice-President of the Pre-Law Society. He was the Community Service Chair for the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Behm received the Harmon-Rice-Davis Trophy, a national fraternity honor awarded to one undergraduate Phi Delt who excels in athletics, scholarship and chapter and campus activities. Behm was an outstanding member of the Davidson football team. He earned a number of All-Conference honors and was named First-Team All-Conference. He was honored as one of 22 NCAA football players on the 2010 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, which focuses on leadership, community service and academic excellence. In 2011, he was presented with the Bronko Nagurski student-athlete award for being a positive example in the community, classroom and on the field, as well as the FCS Athletic Director¬ís Association Academic All-Star Award. Behm was selected to 2011 Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team, named 2011 PFL Academic First Team and 2010 PFL Academic Second Team, as well as PFL Academic Honor Roll four years. He was also awarded the PFL All-Conference Second Team Linebacker trophy during his junior year, and was an Honorable Mention Linebacker for his senior year. Davidson is a highly selective independent liberal arts college for 1,900 students located 20 minutes north of Charlotte in Davidson, N.C. Since its establishment in 1837 by Presbyterians, the college has graduated 23 Rhodes Scholars and is consistently regarded as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country. Through The Davidson Trust, the college became the first liberal arts institution in the nation to replace loans with grants in all financial aid packages, giving all students the opportunity to graduate debt-free. Malvern Student Graduates Cum Laude from Davidson College

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- A Malvern student at Davidson College, Lindsay Ruth Beck, was one of 449 seniors to graduate in Commencement exercises on Sunday, May 20. Beck is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Steven Beck of Sorrell Road (zip code 19355), and is a graduate of Conestoga High School. An English major and French minor at Davidson, Beck earned the BA degree cum laude. While at Davidson, Beck was active in Reformed University Fellowship, International Justice Mission and the all-female a cappella group, the Delilahs. She took voice lessons throughout her Davidson career, and also sang in the College Chorale. Beck studied abroad in Nantes, France, and was named to the Pi Delta Phi honor society for French studies, and the Phi Beta Delta honor society for international studies.
