Lawyer says couple innocent as officials seize more than ...

Amazing how gullible people are when it comes to puppies. Who.. in their right mind... would EVER PAY $2,500 for a low-end breeder's puppy? Adopt... don't shop!! So many unwanted dogs and puppies at your local shelters. Inquire there FIRST. Go to breed-specific rescues... dogs and puppies available already vet-checked and socialized. Hope these two people get shut down for good. And I'm hoping their daughter is in a safe place too.  (Dec 26, 2009 | post #82)

Veterinarian pleads not guilty

UPDATE: Posted December 17 2009.............. Chesco vet convicted of animal cruelty A Chester County veterinarian has been convicted of animal cruelty after he removed part of a puppy's tail without anesthesia while holding it under scalding water. District Judge Stuart Mylin in Lancaster County said Tom Stevenson of Honey Brook neglected an animal he had a duty to care for when he performed the procedure on the nine-week-old puppy in the wash room of a kennel. A prosecutor said Stevenson acted against all "reasonable veterinary judgment" when in March he used unsterilized scissors in an unsanitary setting and failed to give the animal pain medication or proper treatment for the wound. Stevenson, whose medical license was suspended by the state veterinary board in May as a result of the cruelty charge, testified that he was performing first aid on a previously injured dog and used the tools he had on hand. Stevenson's attorney said he would appeal yesterday's conviction. - Amy Worden http://www.philly. com/philly/news/br eaking/79489842.ht ml  (Dec 26, 2009 | post #24)

Pa. begins 'puppy mill' crackdown

Thank you, Lovaldogs. The list still leaves me in awe. This information is a Christmas present for ALL! Glad to learn from you that there will be real follow-up to the closings. It's the parent dogs that will enjoy the kindness and care from the rescuers the most. No more breeding, too-small crates, and neglect. AWESOME! Happy New Year... to Lovaldogs, to everyone, and the dogs/puppies.  (Dec 26, 2009 | post #432)

Shepherd Guy: Use the link below to begin your search. There is SO MUCH information; you'll be glad you took the time to read about the dogs offered. ALL of the links will be from rescues, grouped by state. The PA listing show their GSDs on PetFinder. Some links are individual websites. A side note about PetFinder... use caution. Some ads have been placed by low-end breeders. Here's the link: let us know when you adopt. http://www.rescuec anines.com/germanS hepherd.html  (Dec 9, 2009 | post #425)

This is good.... more PA breeders face cruelty chargers. BEWARE.... from the article: "Tracking identification tags attached to the dogs' cages and the animals, the Pennsylvania SPCA filed animal-cruelty charges against these kennel owners: Loren Nolt of East Earl, James Zimmerman of Ephrata, Nathan Myer of Lititz, Ella Mae Zimmerman of New Holland, Steve Stoltzfus of Gap, and John S. Fisher of Gordonville."  (Dec 1, 2009 | post #420)

Eric Clapton

Favorite Things:

Caffine, TV, and the Internet.

On My Mind:

The justice system and the daily failure of judges to impose a logical sentence for convicted criminals.

I Believe In:

Animals should be afforded the opportunity to live a good life. When that opportunity is exploited or abused, the CRIMINAL should bear the consequences.
