Burden is on Danny Ferry to make Cavaliers better

HAAAAA! Josh- Youre a good man, but like I said, I had to bring this back up and throw it in your face. Kobe apparently is the best player with the best help in the league, according to Josh. First Shaq now Gasol. However you want to spin it, a "W" is a "W". If Mike Brown implemented the triangle offense instead of the 4 corners offense, maybe you guys would still be playing or if LeBron could hit a finger roll, maybe you guys would still be playing or if Ben Wallace would stretch before the game, maybe you guys would still be playing. Which one is it? I can bring up some more old stuff if you want me to. I believe Brady Quinn is a Brown now too....  (May 23, 2008 | post #80)

I love LeBron too, but his game is not as complete as Kobe's. 85% of the league plays above the rim in the NBA. The game is about more than power and strength. Deception is a key ingredient that all basketball players must master. There is no other player in the league as trustworthy and guaranteed as KB as well. Down 20 halway through the 3rd quarter and Kobe had 2 points on 1-4 shooting? Anyone with any sense knew that means the game is going to be close because he was going to make up 28 points in a quarter and a half. There are certain things you can count on in this life: paying taxes, death and KB getting his game on. Bowen/Ginobli/Finley/etc: start guarding KB at half court in Game 2. That might slow him down.  (May 22, 2008 | post #71)

JOSH- IS THAT YOU MY OLD FRIEND......? I hate to bring up old stuff man, but I couldnt resist. MVP! MVP! MVP! MVP! MVP! Josh May 24, 2007 Ya know, honestly? If Kobe were smart, he'd quit badgering the front office for a new set of teammates and just demand a trade to a real team that isnt run by imbeciles. I hear Phoenix may be looking to rebuild, how about Shawn Marion and 2 1st round picks for everyone's favorite gunner? Maybe Corey Maggette, two #1's and Shawn Livingston's knees? The biggest mistake Kobe ever made was resigning with the Lakers, when he could go across town and hoist 40 shots a game for the Clippers with an all-star PF like Elton Brand. But I digress...It'll be more of the same for the rest of his career. Gaudy scoring stats, no success in the W column. Josh May 24, 2007 Oh, I forgot one. I bet Isaiah Thomas would trade his whole roster for Kobe and play 5 on 1 next season. Oh the possibiities!!! In all reality, with you idiots being the majority (i know a lot of people who agree with you that Kobe's the best player in the league, and I argue with them too), the Lakers would be smart to sell high and just completely rebuild, bottom up. They could fleece someone's picks and get 2 very good players as well. Kobe in a Kings uni? You KNOW the Maloof brothers would take him. HAHA, it's either hopeless basketball until his contract is up, or trade your franchise player. How depressing must it be to root for the Lakers? Glad I'm not you.  (May 21, 2008 | post #44)

LeBron one of best ever? A slam dunk!

No Brittle, thats not what that means. Many things go into a trade. If Dr. Buss felt that strongly about Kobe's rape case, he would be gone Money is a factor, age is a factor. If Kobe was entering his down years in his mid-30s, for example, LeBron would still be going strong. Buss would trade him in a heartbeat. Depends who else you have on your team as well. Orlando only trade Howard for Jesus Christ himself. You cant teach what that young man has and Orlando has plenty of forwards. They wouldnt want to start Battie with 3 forwards and Nelson at the PG. Come on now. LeBron may be the best at his age that came into the NBA but not right now. Remember the Championship has to be won, I dont care what kind of skills you have.  (Jan 10, 2008 | post #27)

Buss would trade Kobe for LeBron because he is 5 years younger. Do your physical attributes make you the best player? I guess RoboCop could be the best then too right? We might have to do the apples/oranges thing here......  (Jan 10, 2008 | post #24)

TMurda- Nice analysis, but I am talking about LeBron, not Shaq. LeBron hasnt won any Finals MVPs or League MVPs either. The bottom line is this, you cant be the best at anything unless you have won championships. Ask Dan Marino and he'll tell you Montana is the best. Hell, go to youtube and type in LeBron on Kobe and he will tell you that Kobe is the best himself! Disagree with LeBron if you want. Charles Barkley was darn good but Kenny Smith and Magic laugh at him every week about not winning a ring. Also, like I said previously, overall "game" between the two is up for review. Apples to oranges I know. I love LeBrons game too but I would take Kobe first if I was starting a team. The one thing you need to buy into is the "killer instinct" aspect. No player carries that title like Kobe in the league currently. I know you are on the east coast, but subscribe to NBA TV and Kobe will show you this night in and night out. He has shown it on the ultimate Playoff and Championship stage as well. Kobe the best of all time is in the same argument with Jordan being the best of all time. Im rooting for LeBron to bring Championships to Cleveland. He just isnt there yet.  (Jan 10, 2008 | post #23)

Shaq had no effect on Kobe's game. Would LeBron play differently if Dwight Howard was a Cav? Furthermore, who is taking away double-teams from Kobe now? I said Kobe is the best player now, not only when Shaq was a Laker, but now as well. Who is to say that Shaq would have won a championship without Kobe in LA either? Shaq had DWayde for his Miami championship. Not a bad trade off...  (Jan 9, 2008 | post #18)

LeBron's all around "better" game is up for review. I would be willing to argue that point. Kobe is a better winner than LeBron at this point in their careers as well.  (Jan 9, 2008 | post #15)

As evident now, LeBron got his championships when Gooden was there.....wait.... .my bad, thats right, he doesnt have any. A ring is a ring partner. I dont care if he got it when Bob McAdoo was there.  (Jan 9, 2008 | post #12)

You would take LeBron for the next 10-12 years because he is younger than Kobe. As far as your other statement, you are absolutely correct. Kobe is making his teammates better this year and he actually did it last year until they needed him to score 50 ppg to get the Lakers in the playoffs. I love LebRons game and to break the two down would be basically comparing apples to oranges, but Kobe is the best player in the league now and at this point, possibly ever.  (Jan 9, 2008 | post #8)
