harley ride

As usual. I had a senior moment. That is happening with more frequency for some reason. Anyway, if you want more information about the ride you can find it at Wheels of Faith Ministry web site. http://wheelsoffai th.com/cftchildren event.html  (Nov 5, 2009 | post #5)

harley ride

Thanks wondering for helping us to get the word out. We are looking forward to another great ride this year. The weather is looking good and this year with things as they are, the need is bigger. So crank up the bikes and take a ride for a great cause. See ya Saturday.  (Nov 5, 2009 | post #4)

Christmas for the Children Toy Run

Just a quick thank you to all who came out and supported us in our effort to help Of One Accord Ministry with Christmas for the Children. Last count (I think) was 45 cars on display, 215 motorcycles on the ride, and we raised $4670.00 for the children. Again thanks to everyone for helping out.  (Nov 1, 2008 | post #4)

Christmas for the Children Toy Run

Thanks Mark. I would also like to encourage all who either ride a motorcycle or know someone that does, to come out and ride with us and help us to be able to brighten Christmas for some child in Hawkins and Hancock Counties. ALso the same day and time, we will be having the cruise in for cars, trucks, whatever you can drive in to the park. This is a cruise in that gives you time to visit with other car owners and the opportunity to help the children at the same time. We have all the information about the toy run and cruise in on our site www.wheelsoffaith. com Just follow the link on the home page.  (Oct 21, 2008 | post #2)

Fireworks 2008

I didn't get to the park today, but I did see the fireworks show tonight and it was awesome. Thanks to everybody on the 4th of July Committee and anyone else who had anything to do with helping to make this day happen. I have worked on events like this and know personally how much hard work goes on behind the scenes to make an event like this work. You guys did a great job!  (Jul 4, 2008 | post #1)

Christmas for the Children 2007

Thanks for the input. We are always aware that not everyone is at the same level of riding skills. We try to help this by riding a little slower than normal. It is hard though to match the ride to so many different riding styles. This is something we can work on before next years ride. Thanks for riding with us.  (Nov 4, 2007 | post #10)

Christmas for the Children 2007

Thanks for coming out and joining us at the park. We had 35 cars on display, 196 motorcycles ride the toy run, and several folks just stopping by to check it out. Total donations were $4250.00 (and still growing) and 85 toys. I always tell everybody that we can plan the event but if no one comes it won't be successful. Thanks to all who joined with us and helped make this our biggest and best Christmas for the Children Toy Run/Cruise In.  (Nov 4, 2007 | post #7)

Best Hairstylist and Doctor

I resisted the urge to put in a plug, but if you insist. My wife, the best stylist in town, is at Personal Touch Hair Salon on S. Armstrong Road.  (Oct 5, 2007 | post #10)

Best Hairstylist and Doctor

Mark, I couldn't agree with you more. I also believe that the best stylist in town is my wife. (Sorry Mark, bad play on words, but I couldn't resist)Who would have thought that we both believe that my wife is the best stylist? :)  (Oct 5, 2007 | post #8)

Christmas for the Children 2007

Wheels of Faith Ministry is planning our annual Christmas for the Children Toy Run November 3, 2007. This is the 6th year for this toy run and we want to thank all who have supported it in the past and we hope they will come ride again this year with us. The toy run hasn’t changed a lot, we will get together a group in Rogersville and another group in Kingsport and then both of these groups will ride to Church Hill to Homestead Antiques which is the main meeting place for the ride. The ride leaves Church Hill at 1:00 and travels through Goshen Valley, Webster Valley to Hwy 70, then to Hwy 66 and into Rogersville. We will end at the city park where food will be provided for all riders and a concert by Exit 33. We have some door prizes to give away we are blessed again this year to be able to have as our grand prize, two nights in Gatlinburg. So if you don’t mind, please help us get the word out. Last year we tried to have a cruise in at the city park at the same time and we are planning to try that again this year. We had a small turnout of cars last year and lots of people told us that they did not know about the event. This year we have been trying to pass out cards and fliers at area car shows to let them know what we are trying to do. The cruise in will be at the park and when the motorcycles arrive, we will ride the walking track around the cars and hopefully fill the city park with cars and bikes. All the money we raise will be given that same day to Sheldon Livesay, director of, Of One Accord Ministry in Rogersville. Of One Accord Ministry uses the money to buy presents and they work with area churches and organizations to help ensure that each child can get a Christmas present. Even if you don't have a show car or ride a motorcycle, we encourage you to come to the park, visit with us for a while and hear some awesome music from Exit 33.  (Oct 3, 2007 | post #1)

Heritage Days.. What could be done to make it better???

In the first few years Heritage Days provided a couple of days to relax and do something that we have forgotten how to do. Visit with each other. You could go to town and Main Street was filled with your friends and neighbors some of whom you had not seen for a while. There were demonstrations of how we used to do things. A few booths and most of them were being run by local people and churches or fire departments. Now it seems more like going to just another big arts and craft sale. The last time I was there I started to buy a Coke from a machine next to the courthouse but when I found out the Coke was $2.00 I knew that Heritage Days had left me behind.  (Sep 1, 2007 | post #25)
