Obama-Economy - Makawao, HI

Right on Jim! At least there is one person out there who can see reality. It is a cinch the government can't.  (May 8, 2012 | post #3)

Obama-Economy - Makawao, HI

From my point of view he has done neither. Need the nation be reminded of the previous eight years under that administration and how jobs just went out of the country to avoid paying Americans a fair wage. Instead under that administration jobs left the country left right and center. The reason? The large corporations didn't have to pay the amount of wages to foreign workers like they did in America. Under that administration they catered to the large corporations and allowed them to ship all of the viable jobs over seas. What's worse is the corporations are still dong just that. Is it any wonder people are out of work? What made America prosperous was its population was working. Enter President Obama whom I regretfully have to admit hasn't done much better in getting the population back to work. Granted he is somewhat stifled by the opposition party however, I am not overly thrilled with his policies either. Class warfare is NOT the way to unite a country and put people back to work. The solution I would use is to bring America's jobs home and the heck with the rest of the world. Pay Americans a fair wage with reasonable benefits and let the country get back on its feet. The main thing is for the government learn how to cooperate with both sides of the aisle and quit playing politics with the people's money! Both parties are guilty and need to get their act togather!  (Apr 23, 2012 | post #1)

Marijuana - Makawao, HI

Rather than making marijuana a crime, for what it's worth I feel the U.S. government should legalize the weed, research its properties and make use of the fact it in itself would create another industry thus creating JOBS which the country sorely needs. As a result of the current policies governing the weed (actually and herb)the prisons are over flowing with non violent offenders who go in for smoking or trying to make a few bucks from the weed and come out hardcore VIOLENT criminals as a result of what they learn in Prison University.  (Apr 23, 2012 | post #3)

Marijuana - Makawao, HI

There has NEVER been any violent crime attributed to it directly. People who use it from what I understand only want to do three things. They are eat because of the munchies, if they have a significant other they want to make love and finally after all that go to sleep. None of these activities are criminal and I have NEVER known anyone who is under its influence ONLY become violent. In fact that is the furthest thing there mind.  (Apr 23, 2012 | post #2)

Barack Obama, our next President

Granted I do not agree with some of the president's recent policies when it comes to jobs and the economy but I also have to consider what transpired in the nation for eight long years prior to President Obama that set the stage for the nation's economy to fail. That said, he hasn't done in my opinion anything to really solve the economic problems of the nation. Frankly I am disappointed in the current administration. I am more upset with the way congress is acting as it relates to the nation as a whole. They have the nerve to criticize the president when they have done little to improve the plight of the American people.  (Apr 2, 2012 | post #608983)

Jobless rate at 3-year low as payrolls surge

Actually the economy was on its way down long before President Obama became president. The economy went south when the manufacturing of electronic products and automobile electronic parts was sent out of the country along with various other mass production jobs.  (Mar 29, 2012 | post #980)

U.S. Economy Added 227,000 Jobs In February

At the moment I would say the economy is struggling but making a small move toward improvement. I know there are those who would blame the whole economic situation on the current president however remember the prior eight years and that administration. Before that administration and those eight years the country had an economic surplus in the billions. Granted the current administration did not help the situation but it did not cause it either. Add to that two wars. Another thing to consider is the graft and corruption that transpired in the banking and real estate industry. At this point I feel the American economy is on the up swing but world wide the economy is still on unsteady ground. Only time will tell and it is not talking.  (Mar 12, 2012 | post #325)

U.S. Economy Added 227,000 Jobs In February

America could add a lot more jobs if they would quit shipping them out of the country and especially to China. What I feel needs to be done is "BRING THE JOBS BACK TO AMERICA"! I used to work in the electronics industry in Silicone Valley in California. At the time I worked for a major computer company. I lost my job because they sent the section I was working in to China. In fact almost all of the really good electronic jobs from other companies in Silicone Valley went the same way.  (Mar 10, 2012 | post #223)

Poll: Who Is Your Presidential Pick?

At this stage of the game I am inclined not to cast any vote. I would rather not vote at all than to cast a vote for someone in either party unworthy of the honor and great responsibility of one of the most powerful and respected jobs on the planet. At least it used to be.  (Mar 7, 2012 | post #183)

Poll: Who Is Your Presidential Pick?

You are absolutely correct. It is because I am intelligent as you say I can safely say I will not vote in this coming election. I do not believe in voting for someone just to be voting. If you read carefully my post you will note I stated I was disappointed in the president and his administration. to be completely fair though he did inherit a can of worms when he took over the office. I admit he hasn't helped much but neither has the congress. It takes "TEAMWORK " to run a country and that's is not what is going on in the U.S.  (Mar 7, 2012 | post #181)

Jobless rate at 3-year low as payrolls surge

The job situation could and would get back on track for America if they would only bring all the jobs they shipped overseas which Includes China and India and other countries. In my humble opinion it would probably solve most of the country's economic woes if the population was put back to work. People would have more money to spend. Secondly, and this one I think is impossible, clean up the corruption in Washington and represent the people in an honest respectful way. At present this seems to be lacking in American politics. What happened to "government of the people, for the people, by the people" and equal opportunity for everyone? BRING THE JOBS BACK HOME! Watch the economy turn around then.  (Mar 6, 2012 | post #948)
