Spurned woman who killed ex-boyfriend sentenced in Wisconsin

Yep, she sure sounds innocent to me. Right up to the point where she burned the place down. Sounds like a pilot for a Lifetime movie.  (May 26, 2011 | post #4)

Tubby Smith skeptical of Gophers' NCAA chances after loss

Holy cow, I must be missing this talented front court all year. Only Mbakwe is a legitimate player up front. Iverson can't score (we don't even dump the ball in to him any more) and III wanders around at the arc the whole game -- 2 rebounds against Michigan. Michigan was guarding him with a 6'4" guy because he'd never go inside. Our front line wouldn't rate in the top half of the league. Hope the incoming freshman (big & small) can play becasue there should be open competition for all spots except Trevor's.  (Feb 27, 2011 | post #24)

If the Gophers are doing push ups and running for missing free throws, we should be the strongest and best conditioned team in the country. So why are we so soft and can't seem to get back on defense to stop the parade of fast break dunks? Ralph III to test the draft waters? In what league -- intramurals? That's laughable. Of course he could take Williams with him too. Rodney is very athletic, at least we're told that 10 times a game. He just has a little trouble with the dribbling, shooting, rebounding and defense parts of the game.  (Feb 27, 2011 | post #19)

Minnesota Gophers paying for their losses of point guard ...

It's a pretty big stretch to say Smith has plenty of big men. Who? We've got Mbakwe who plays inside, Iverson who can't score if his life depended on it, and Sampson who is much more comfortable wandering around 15 feet from the basket. Sounds like we have no point guards, maybe one inside threat, and no one besides Blake who can hit a jumper consistebtly. The cupboard appears to be a little bare. Hope the guys coming in next year can step right in.  (Feb 26, 2011 | post #3)

You know, I was just wondering the other day what ever happened to Richard Yett. Glad to hear his career in the grocery store is going well. Wonder if his customers call him "Meat" like opposing hitters did?  (Feb 12, 2011 | post #2)

Indiana stands tall, beats bigger Gophers 60-57

Would the new facility have rims the size of hula hoops? That's the only way this bunch could make anything. Maybe they can use bigger rims and smaller balls like the women use?  (Feb 3, 2011 | post #37)

Indiana stands tall, beats bigger Gophers 60-57

Abolutely pathetic effort by the Gophers -- they were outhustled, outplayed, and outcoached. They cannot win if Hoffarber has to handle the ball all the time. He is the only shooter we have outside. IU didn't even attempt to guard the wings tonight, they invited us to shoot a much as we wanted. Ahanmisi and Armelin can't handle the ball and neither can knock down a shot. Was it any surprise that we failed to get off a shot at the end? Anhanmisi would've dribbled out the clock in a panic if Tubby didn't call time out. Then he throws an awful pass to Hoff which he has to just throw at the basket. This was a game you HAVE to win to get in the tourney. I hope there's some help on the way next year, we need point guards and shooters!  (Feb 2, 2011 | post #2)

Gophers making progress, even if modest, toward building ...

Seems like the immediate priority should be getting a baseball stadium funded and built for a team that currently has NO HOME FIELD or NO PRACTICE FACILITY. But it is sweet to hear that Ralph comes in and shoots with his girlfriend. Wonder if he has found some competition where he can actually get some rebounds and dominate someone inside the lane?  (Jan 29, 2011 | post #14)

Ohio State 67 / Gophers 64: Gophers fall to No. 2 Buckeyes

The Gophers need to start putting some W's on the board or they won't get an invite to the tourney. Today's game was the same as always -- confusion in the half court offense, Hoffarber can't get got open to shoot, Sampson playing soft. When Tubby subs in the three freshman with Iverson and Ralph, who's going to score? Was anyone surprised at the end of the game to see Nolen dribble the ball for 10 seconds, then give the ball up for a forced shot -- by a freshman. C'mon guys, you called a timeout --- you gotta do better than that!!  (Jan 9, 2011 | post #7)

Michigan State 71, Gophers 62: Minnesota folds, gets outs...

This team has no offensive identity and continues to look confused in the half court. Nolen dribbles around while the others stand and watch. Hoffarber is a catch and shoot guy who can't get into the offense when pressured. Williams adds nothing to the offense except an occasional dunk, no rebounding, no slashing to the basket. And Ralph? I can't believe a 7 footer can play any softer. He makes Randy Breuer look like Moses Malone. We should have been up 15 points at half except we got killed on offensive boards. Too many loose balls bouncing on the floor -- Gophers reach for them, Spartans dove for them and got them! Need to play tougher on the road to avoid getting pushed out of the building. C'mon Gophers, give us something to get excited about, the patsies on the schedule are gone!  (Jan 1, 2011 | post #24)
