I do not know the Duquette family personally, which as of right now is irrelevant, I was only conveying a message of sympathy to their loss, especially that of their little girl, grow up!  (Jun 12, 2010 | post #3)

Animal brutality

I want to extend to the Duquette Family my most heartfelt sympathy, for all of the pain and horror that you have endured since the senseless, brutilization of your beloved bunnies. I am a strong advocate for animal rights, and I want you to know that I will stand behind you in anyway that I can. in an all out effort to get this sick and demented person prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This individual must be made an example of, cruelty inflicted upon defenseless animals can not be taken lightly any longer. There is the need for tougher laws to be implemented, to protect and preserve the well being of animals, so that nothing has horrific as this will ever happen again. May God bless you!  (Jun 12, 2010 | post #1)

New Vietnamese restaurant opens on Curran Highway

Nancy and John are two of lovliest, most hard working of people I have ever met. I have been getting my nails done at their salon for quite a few years now, and never once did I ever observe anyting unsanitary about it. You people are mean and vicious with way too much time on your hands. I look forward to trying out their new restaurant, I bet it will be wonderful. Nancy and John-good luck in your continued endeavors, please ignore the childish negativity on this post!  (Feb 23, 2010 | post #42)

MMMMMM, it seems apparent that you you don't like art, kids or animals, what do you like? I think most of the ideas that I have read have been good ones, there really isn't too much for kids to do, resulting in getting themselves into trouble. I think a park for dogs would be "woof, woof", a playground for pooches to get together and walk or romp with their owners and friends.  (Nov 14, 2009 | post #209)

brainstorming challenge

I would love to find a way for North Adams to have a "real" animal shelter for the many cats and dogs that just get dumped off wherever. I would be willing to be an advocate for this, to find a way to get the funding and find volunteers that could help make this happen. It is really heartbreaking knowing the many cats, kittens (mostly), dogs and puppies that will freeze and starve to death this winter. My vet shared a very sad story with me of something that happened recently at the site of the new bridge being constructed. Workers eye-witnessed someone driving over the bridge tossing 2 kittens out of the window; only one survived and the other was actually adopted. I was absolutely horrified when she told me this; what kind of person would do something so despicable? If anyone else shares this concern I would be so happy to hear from you.  (Nov 10, 2009 | post #125)

You got that right, Nick, it's the "little people" (that is what Barrett labeled the good people of North Adams)that mean the most to Dick, Alcombright for mayor!!!!  (Nov 2, 2009 | post #13)

Mayor prevented a great program for local children

What a wonderfully creative vision you have, please don't give up on it. What a great opportunity for the many talented young people in our community to come together with their imaginations and those of our local artists as well.  (Oct 26, 2009 | post #8)

If Barrett broke election laws should he be prosecuted

What I don't understand is why didn't Barrett use his own campaign headquarters to make the calls; imagine what must have gone through people's minds when they saw FDR come on their caller ID's? One previous poster thought he was being sued. I guess I fail to understand why Barrett went to this level of thinking to get a tally on his votes. It would appear that it has indeed backfired in a bad way.  (Oct 26, 2009 | post #19)

Alcombright as mayor: Scary thought

It was back in Mr Barrett's early years as mayor that I held him in the highest of regards, until one day my husband came home and told me while he was in the right of way he turned, only to find he was cutting Mr Barrett off, much to his surprize Mr Barrett flipped him off and yelled some obscenities at him. I found it so hard to believe what he was telling me, it was then that I lost all respect for him as our mayor.  (Oct 23, 2009 | post #130)
