I wonder how you missed in a previous post Seen called the Bible a book of lies. So, obviously Seen believes in a god, but not Jehovah God of the Bible. (Apr 7, 2012 | post #353)
Choose you this day whom you will serve. It will be as you wish. You have made your choice. I have also made mine. Eternity is a long time to be wrong and one of us is. We shall see. (Apr 7, 2012 | post #345)
In retrospect, I owe you an apology. That was disrespectful for me to say to you. Just wondering though, why do you seem to always post those types of responses back to me? I've read some of your blog, by the way, and it is very interesting. I plan to read more later when I have time. Anyway, have a great weekend. (Apr 7, 2012 | post #5)
I'm clueless as to what you could possibly find offensive with a song that honors the Lord. Unless you don't believe in honoring Him? By reading some of your hateful posts that must be the case. (Apr 7, 2012 | post #3)
Me, I honor Mary because she has a sacred place in history as the mother of Jesus. But there is only one Savior. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Have a wonderful Passover weekend everyone! http://www.youtube .com/watch?v=xODpg yqGCYM (Apr 6, 2012 | post #1)
Christ didn't concern Himself with Political Correctness. The TRUTH will always offend some. I'm sure the Pharisees hated Him all the more especially after He called them a brood of vipers. (Mar 24, 2012 | post #73039)
Yes, and those saints who actually believe they have washed their robes in His blood and made them white in Revelation 7:14. Imagine that. NO one fools God. You are calling the Blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ satanic? On my. Deception abounds. (Mar 24, 2012 | post #73035)
Romans 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. ( Tragic to be a reprobate and hated by God) (Mar 23, 2012 | post #6)
Instead of trolling around and disagreeing why not join in the conversation? I haven't been on here for about a year so I don't know who you are. I would be most interested in hearing what you have to say in regards to the Holy Spirit. You have the floor. And, unlike yourself I will not belittle what you say. Shouldn't we be on here to learn from one another? I'm not Catholic, by the way as you hinted at earlier. I attend a small nondenominational church in my hometown. I definitely don't know all I would like to know about the Word and am always open to learning more. (Mar 21, 2012 | post #21)
He speaks of Jesus and of things to come. He is referred over and over in the scriptures as having masculine qualities. He came from Heaven in the form of a dove (no, he is NOT a dove..so don't go there) He came in the form of a dove at the baptism of Jesus. He speaks. He convicts of sin, He can be grieved. The Holy Spirit can speak (Acts 8:29, 11:12, 13:2)though some people dont think the Holy Spirit can speak because they think of the Holy Spirit as an impersonal force. A real person has the attributes of personality, which include mind, will, and emotions. Does the Holy Spirit have a will? He distributes spiritual gifts to Christians as He wills.2 Does the Holy Spirit have a mind? He searches . . . the deep things of God and knows them.3 Does the Holy Spirit have emotions? We are told to grieve not the Holy Spirit.4 If the Holy Spirit can be grieved, then He has emotions. Because the Holy Spirit has a mind, a will, and emotions, we know that He is a Person. 5 A real person also has the capacity to have relationships with others. Thats the primary reason we have mind, will, and emotions. According to Philippians 2:1, the Spirit is able to have fellowship with us.6 According to 2 Corinthians 13:14, the Holy Spirit can have communion with us.7 One who is able to commune and to have fellowship is capable of personal relationships. Therefore, the Holy Spirit is a person. Jesus Himself said that He would send the Comforter to us and He would live with us forever. He is real. He speaks. He abides with us. He comforts. He teaches. He convicts. That does not sound like an impersonal force to me. (Mar 21, 2012 | post #19)
Bruce, Thank you for your gracious words. No, your questions do not rub me the wrong way. I appreciate the chance to have an interesting conversation. It is unfortunate, as you say, that there are too many insincere Christians. You know, I think God feels exactly the same way. After all He was the one who said " If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." When I see a Christian brother fail, or if I fail myself.....and discouragement overtakes me, I just look at Jesus. He is THE example to model ourselves after. He hasn't failed and never will. God doesn't belong to just one person or group. He has extended an invitation to "whosoever will". It matters not what culture, nationality, color of skin or gender. He, through Jesus Christ has opened the door wide for us all to be adopted into His family. Why some view this as a elite club of some kind is beyond me. For God so loved the world that He gave His Son that whosoever believes on Him shall be saved. Not all will accept His offer. Nonetheless, it has been extended. By your own admission, we live in a modern, technologically savvy world. The gospel message is spread literally worldwide. Yet, I'm sure there are people groups that have not heard the good news. Is it unfathomable to believe that God is unable to speak to a heart that hasn't heard yet? I understand that you probably do not believe this, but I have full confidence that the Lord is sovereign and can speak to anyone at any time He chooses. He chooses to use people to witness for Him, but certainly doesn't need us to do it. (Mar 21, 2012 | post #112)
No Bruce, BUT that will be my typical stance to those that want to bring themselves down to grade school level with name calling, disrespect or juvenile antics. I will discuss (read that word again) DISCUSS any topic of interest, but I will not be drawn into the usual fray of what goes on here in this forum. I don't have the time nor the personality to bully, harass or ridicule others. I would like to respond to the other points that you brought up, however I have a Bible Study to attend at the moment. I will return and continue this conversation. Hope you have a good evening. (Mar 21, 2012 | post #110)
