Missing teen girl in Berea

I have followed this thread for a long while now, but it has been a while since I've taken the time to log in and comment. In the meantime I lost a very close longtime friend to heroin. No one had a clue until the toxicology report came back. It may have been his first time using. He was handsome, a hard worker, and a proud new grandfather. I've since learned from his brother that he was most likely dead within minutes of the lethal dose. If heroin was present at the party, or after the party Brooklyn may have suffered the same fate as my friend. I've often wondered why TR, JH, or some of the others rumored to have been present at the party that night haven't been more vocal in their own defense. I'm not pointing fingers, just wildly curious as to their accounts of what happened that night.  (Dec 15, 2014 | post #8259)

But why would she feel the need to essentially fake her own death? She was an 18 year old girl who had already moved out of her parent's house and had been living with a boyfriend. Why go to the trouble of sending those text messages, burning a couch, having LE and a host of volunteers search endlessly for you when a simple restraining order would do?  (Sep 21, 2014 | post #8048)

Someone or someones calling themselves a family member of Brookelyn has posted that the family thinks she may have run off to get married. If so, then why the fundraising, why the Facebook page, why the reward, why the media coverage, etc? Brookelyn was 18, and therefore a legal adult when she disappeared. Why would she need to elope at all? The stepfather said in an interview that LE has a pretty good idea what happened to her but could not yet tell the family for risk of ruining the investigation. That doesn't sound very promising that she is still alive to me.  (Sep 21, 2014 | post #8042)

Certain names and subjects really touch a nerve on here don't they? I'm beginning to notice a pattern.....  (Sep 21, 2014 | post #8032)

Yet you took the time and effort to post on this thread in an attempt to shame us into silence. By your own logic YOU should be deeply ashamed as your post bumped this thread to the top of the forum again...giving us biddies the opportunity to cluck. Please explain to me what the difference is between the way you choose to waste your time posting on here verses the way we we do? Would it be that the only moral opinion in your eyes is YOUR opinion? Or is it because one ore more of us struck hit a little too close to home for your comfort? If this thread offends you then let me offer you a little advice...don't read it.  (Aug 26, 2014 | post #7923)

You are absolutely right. Karma has infinite patience, and a very long memory...and will eventually come back around to somebody in the end...no matter how long the wait. I would imagine it would be a scary thing, waiting, and watching for fate to take her revenge for a guilty party. Telling the truth may be frightening, but the real horror would be living with oneself otherwise.  (Aug 25, 2014 | post #7917)

Several of the kids at the party have passed their 18th birthday in the time since Brookelyn disappeared. Brookelyn herself was 18 when she went missing, it was reported by the media that they held a cookout for her 19th birthday in her absence. http://www.wbko.co m/home/headlines/F amily-Celebrates-B irthday-for-Missin g-Teen-220336761.h tml?device=phone Her 20th birthday has just passed. I am going to hazard a guess that the parties, like the one Brookelyn attended are held on private property, which would decrease the likelihood of a party goer being arrested for public intoxication. A party out in the middle of nowhere with drugs and alcohol is just asking for trouble. Imagine if someone was hurt, or overdosed, or had alcohol poisoning. If one of the party goers did have the good sense to call an ambulance they would have to find the location, same as the police. I am the parent of a teenager, and personally would have been horrified if my child were mixed up in this. I could not imaging continuing to turn a blind eye after a friend and classmate of my child disappeared after being in their company at a party.  (Aug 24, 2014 | post #7915)

I think that either to parents of several of these teenagers either turned a blind eye to the partying, or the kids in question were all masters of deception. I think the former is much more likely to the latter, IMHO.  (Aug 24, 2014 | post #7912)

Thank you, I think that everything posted should be taken with a grain of salt, since this is an anonymous forum. The upside to this, is hopefully anonymity might just give someone who knows what happened to Brookelyn the courage to step forward, to take the burden off their heart, and tell what they know. The case is ultimately up to the police to solve, but keeping Brookelyn Farthing's name alive, and her presence felt is important. We are accomplishing that in this forum thread. Whoever is behind this attempted to erase her, and they need to know we won't allow that.  (Aug 18, 2014 | post #7905)

It was said that Brookelyn's mother was unable to speak when she first went missing due to how emotional she was. I admit the stepfather was an unusual choice as a spokesman for the family, but then again I don't know them personally, it was said at one point he had raised Brookelyn since she was four years old. Everyone handles grief and shock in their own way. Brookelyn's case did strike me as unusual because you normally see much more interaction between the family and the media, especially the Mother and any siblings, in cases where young girls go missing.  (Aug 18, 2014 | post #7904)

I heard something similar, but nothing concrete to back it up. Wish I could help on this one.  (Aug 17, 2014 | post #7898)

I don't think seriously was being arrogant. I understand tensions are high, but seriously has been posting since near the beginning of this thread, before a reward was even offered. Even though seriously's opinion has been different than mine, they have never been rude or condescending, IMHO.  (Aug 17, 2014 | post #7896)

I was told neither, that she had dated, but broken up with another boy that to my knowledge has not been named on here.  (Aug 17, 2014 | post #7895)
