Deltona takes over more roads

Man you guys must have been born with a silver spoon in your mouths. Have either of you ever lost your whole family, have a physical disability, and can't get an income? My guess is probrably not. I know their are many people who take advantage of the system, but, are you so blind to see that there are some people out their that are on sec. 8 that legitimately need it. Being that this is an anonymous site, I for one can tell you I am a blue collar worker in the construction feild. A few years back lost work and could not find work of any kind, and I am one who will work for minimum wage shoveling anything for a paycheck. I did receive a temporary subsidy from our government and at the same time felt an overwhelming guilt because of people like yourselves at the way you look down on the ones who need a hand. Eventually I found work and discontinued any help from our government. Go ahead with the insults, I just hope ya'll don't call yourself Christains because of the way you judge people  (Feb 3, 2011 | post #12)

are you guys kidding me or what? the 12 Vietnam vets and your grandfather, with all due respect, how do you know if another soldier in the same war saved one of them and is now a full blown alcoholic or addicted to another form of drugs? You don't! I am in no way condoning a drug user, I am just stating that some people have crossed over at some point and made a bad decision. So far, from what I see, I am the only one on this thread with any compassion for someone with a horrible addiction! Ya'll sound to me as if you would kick a man when he is down! Like I have stated, I do not support drug abuse of any kind, but at the same time, I will not, nor should anyone, make a judgement against a person for which I know nothing about the reason for their addiction. PTSD? sexually or physically abused as a child? whatever the reason may be, some are strong enough to get the help needed before they make the wrong decision of using drugs, and some aren't! The ones I do not support are the ones who were brought up with a happy and wealthy childhood! they are the ones to kick to the curb so to speak! Many actors and singers who take life for granted, they disrespect their fans and fortune and do not deserve a life on a pedestal! One good legitimate example. My sister fell in love and married a 3 tour Vietnam vet. She wasn't familiar with the health problems of some of these vets until they were together. To say the least, he was pretty messed up. He would have anxiety attacks and tremble uncontrollably at times, his feet looked as if they were beat with a sledge hammer, he could not walk for long periods of time, and at the same time, would get denied any kind of disability! Now, I remember him giving up and losing hope very often, my sister would convince him to keep applying for benefits. After years, yes years of applying for benefits he finally got approved and got the help and benefits due to him! I believe if it wasn't for my sister he would not have survived. Recently, he he has passed on from a massive heart attack and America has lost a great soldier, husband, brother, and human being! RIP Harold! We all seem we are on the same page here with the exception of drug addictions. We're all proud of our country, vets, and disgusted with our government! We're the ones who need to stand strong and vote all these jokers out of office  (Feb 2, 2011 | post #9)

and this statement coming from someone in Daytona Beach! ha ha ha. I feel much safer driving though the streets of Deltona rather than the streets of N Daytona! although, I agree with part of your statement, ship the sex offenders to an isolated island, no room for them anywhere in the general population. Next, get all illegal aliens back to wherever they migrated from and let them come her legally, apply and wait! As for the so called junkies, they weren't always junkies. Some low point in their life they decided to do drugs and got hooked. It is a self inflicted disease in which once the addiction is established professional help is needed to once again become a contributing citizen to society. I know of some war vets, one of which is family who I have sat down and listened to the stories of what he went through and seen in Vietnam, have turned to drugs, became a "junkie" as you called it, and thankfully eventually got the help needed and is doing much better with the correct meds. Open your eyes, you may actually exist in this world thanks to one of these "junkies "!!!  (Jan 30, 2011 | post #5)

Hispanics fear profiling under new Arizona law

and back to the topic of this thread, I believe it’s up to legal AMERICAN citizens to vote in the ones who are brave enough to bring this country back to what it used to be! A thriving economy! But who? These friggin politicians make promises before they get voted in and then don’t follow through or are shut down by the gutless congress! Start with having the guts to secure our borders! No amnesty for illegal aliens already here working, remember they broke the law crossing onto AMERICAN soil to begin with, and they get off by rewarding them with legal citizenship! WTF! I do have very little sympathy for them, most that are coming to America just want a better life for their families, but do it legally! I have more sympathy for American citizens who are losing their homes because they are losing their jobs to, you guessed it, illegal aliens! Their should be a poll to see how many foreclosures are from families that were employed in industries that illegal immigrants are currently working at, roofers, drywallers, painters, cleaning crews, landscapers. My guess the numbers would be staggering! Our government is making it so difficult on blue collar ‘legal’ American workers, including foreigners who come across the borders legally, by not contributing on a large scale basis by removing the illegal aliens or punishing the ones who hire them! What about our children, will they be able to buy a home and live comfortable on a blue collar salary like our fathers and grandfathers have done for years? It’s sad, our country is slowly folding before our eyes and by the time the ones who can actually legally do anything about it, it may be to late! I think we are heading for another revolution war, and when it comes to that, our gutless government will be arresting the wrong ones!!!!  (Jan 30, 2011 | post #59709)

If guns kill people, then pencils misspell words, cars drive drunk, and spoons made Oprah fat.! Remember: Hold the person accountable for their actions, not the means they chose.! Guns don't pull their own triggers.!!  (Jan 14, 2011 | post #6)

bankers and/or realtors please reply

Good question, I would also like to see some reasoning behind that. Many innocent families have lost their homes due to a crumbling economy and mortgage ceo’s are still flying around in their private lear jets. The same thing happened to a family member of mine, 300,000 mortgage, lost their jobs, lost their house, and then their house sells for 150,000!!! Wtf?  (Jan 11, 2011 | post #2)

How good is living in Alamogordo or Tularosa,La Luz?

Do you know everyone in Alamogordo? Are Alamogordo restaurants not monitored by the Health Dept? Half the town is on welfare? where are your sources to prove that bold statement? You've tried a "little" hiking and your calling others lazy? negative comments on White Sands! Your entire post explains the type of person you are. To paint a picture: irritable old man who is rude to everyone around him, could explain the lazy attitudes towards you and horrid service, and takes natures beauty for granted! best advise for you is to go home, wherever that may be, and maybe after you leave Alamogordo will once again have the friendliest people! oh, and drive safe!  (Dec 28, 2010 | post #12)

I know it rolled on to it's side but the damage on the passenger side is clearly from an impact, unless that's old damage from a previous, which I doubt, the officers statement for the direction of travel of one of the vehicles is wrong  (Oct 5, 2010 | post #9)

under the influence at 3 on a Monday afternoon? get a life! just my own observation, and correct me if I'm wrong: Alton said the driver in the pickup truck was traveling northbound on Florida Avenue with a red light. The driver in the Denali was traveling westbound with a green light on 10th Street before she was struck by the truck was that Denali backing up down 10th st? from the picture, the passenger side was hit, impossible unless they were backing up, lmao.  (Oct 5, 2010 | post #3)
