New Rumors

Ok Barb, I will bite! You are right. Dunkin' Donuts is a bad idea. With DPS already beating up all the kids in town that are gay and the Sheriff's office shooting poor people, the last thing those guys need is more sugar and caffine.  (Mar 24, 2010 | post #362)

Woman accused of kidnapping

As long as "The Counseling Center" is the primary caregiver for mental health in this area, do not look for things to improve anytime soon.  (Mar 24, 2010 | post #41)

I am allowed Crayons! lol I would join in on a sign campaign. That does sound like fun. And I promise to bring donuts instead of Kool-aid. (-:  (Mar 19, 2010 | post #413)

DWI blitz time

Hey you guys have inspired me. Upon reinstatement of my license I believe, this would be a valid challenge to the law. I currently am medically suspended due to seizures. Now it is never smart to get stupid with Law Enforcement or mouthy. Most of these guys are hard working men and women that are doing their job as they understand it. However, to make a U-turn when you see the road block would be my choice. Then if stopped, which I am certain would occur, cooperate fully and friendly with the officer. Afterwards, file a Civil Action for an unlawful stop, which I would be willing to do. Sounds like fun.  (Mar 19, 2010 | post #407)

Feds discuss county land

I do not understand. I thought Gov. Bill (Lardo) Richardson was going to pump Otero Mesa dry and give the water to Texas. I guess that failed, so now he wants to give the land to the Feds. I always new it was true and I need no further proof for myself. Richardson really does hate Otero County! You can not argue this after the appointments of Sandra (Jaba the Hut) Grisham and David (BK is bankruptcy not Burger King) Rupp to the Bench. "Governor? We don't need no stinkin' Governor!" Not if this is what you think of our county.  (Mar 19, 2010 | post #11)

Second amendment group protests fairgrounds sign

It depends, are they posting it in brail? Sheriff Blansett can't read signs anymore. Can you John? Lol. It is kind of like the Jewish mothers of Bethlehem watching Herod get eaten up by maggots. Hard to feel pity. It feels more like judgment from above.  (Mar 14, 2010 | post #163)

Fairgrounds will keep 'no guns' signs

Ok, I have participated in some pretty stupid converstations on Topix. I admit I am guilty of letting my emotions get the best of me at times. This thread, however, is 2nd grade school yard stuff. I am out. Off to enjoy both the Forest and the Trees.  (Mar 12, 2010 | post #34)

Fairgrounds will keep 'no guns' signs

Ok so now maybe it is time to take the fair out of the hands of the Chamber of Commerce. They do not have a great history in bookkeeping. Many of those that have been running it in the past have just become mean. Flori and Harold ride around in their golf cart seeking whom they might devour. I have seen them leave more than one volunteer in tears. So instead of a fund raiser for the Chamber letÂ’s make it a fundraiser for 4-H or all the Agg. groups. Another possibility would be the Public Schools. We the People are in charge. We need to remember that. Harold "Alexander Haig" O'Dell may think he is in charge, but I suggest a major change for the 2011 County Fair. Has anyone seen an accounting of funds for past Fairs?  (Mar 12, 2010 | post #6)

The Fair Board is only in charge during the time of the Fair. It does not effect who the County rents the building to the rest of the year. Check new string.  (Mar 12, 2010 | post #98)
