John David Giles

I remember David well from high school. He taught me how to drive! He had a blue Mustang with a straight shift. The first place we went was to Marshall Memorial Gardens (a local cemetery) and we drove all around until I got the hang of changing gears before getting out on the road. David and I corresponded for a while after he left Albertville High School and went to Castle Heights. David was such a sweet guy, so sorry to hear he has passed on. He was always smiling and laughing, a true friend.  (Jun 9, 2011 | post #10)

Who shot Dale Gilliland?

You're right. I figured that out once I read the obit. Sorry for the misinformation.  (Jan 23, 2011 | post #294)

Who shot Dale Gilliland?

If the ER you are discussing is who I think it is, he passed away recently so you can finally put this discussion to bed.  (Jan 19, 2011 | post #289)

Well.........now that most Americans are completely disgusted with the current President, where do you think the next round of folks that owe their allegiance to BHO will come from?? They will be welcomed with open arms into our country and the Democratic party! Just wait and see.  (Jul 28, 2010 | post #14)

If you had bothered to read the other comments, you would have seen that the topic is about breaking the law by coming into the US illegally. Nothing has been mentioned about race or skin color. Blacks and Hispanics are ten times more racist than any white person you will ever meet  (Jul 23, 2010 | post #7)

Jackson County Educator Dismissed for Having Gun at School

When seconds count, the police are minutes away!(sometimes longer). I wouldn't want to bet my life on them showing up in time to prevent a serious crime or death. I don't know Monte or his situation, if he's nuts, then no, he shouldn't be armed. If all criminals knew that everyone carried a gun, they would think twice before attacking someone for sure.  (Jul 9, 2010 | post #125)

Other states look to Alabama's DHR as role model to mirror

God help us all if Alabama's DHR is a role model. I worked with them for a while and their biggest concern seemed to be reunification of families, even if it meant putting at risk children back into the hands of drug users and predators. They would do anything to close a case. Some role model.  (May 18, 2010 | post #381)

Ah, so politics is involved. Imagine that. Could that be behind the whole thing? Probably so.  (May 18, 2010 | post #63)

Get your facts straight, he broke no laws as long as he had a permit to carry.  (May 18, 2010 | post #62)

Given the times we now live in, all teachers and school administrators should be issued firearms and taught how to use them. Our students depend on them for protection, give them something to work with.  (May 18, 2010 | post #61)

English-Only Ad Draws National Debate To Alabama

It just wouldn't take all that much to make the USA a very inhospitable place for the illegals. Simply require them to pay their own way instead of qualifying for any handouts. Then they wouldn't have any money left over to send back home so what would be the point in staying. The whole point of emigration used to be that one could come to the USA and embrace our language and way of life, not to spit on it and try to change everything. The ungrateful b@$t@rd$ should go back where they came from. Makes sense to me, does it to you??  (May 13, 2010 | post #66)

Obama will never be there for people like us and for that I am thankful. We take care of our own and don't sit around waiting for a hand out.  (Apr 28, 2010 | post #11)

Guntersville makes no smoking in playgrounds official

I think that restricting smoking in the "great outdoors" is a bit extreme.  (Apr 23, 2010 | post #1)
