Robby Gordon gains ground in the Dakar Rally's sixth stage

There's more good news to come! After today's Seventh Stage, American Robby Gordon in his General Motors Hummer, scored a third place finish, and moved up to fifth in the overall standings at the Dakar Rally. Rock on Robby, and congratulations to Mark Miller, who is in third overall driving for Volkswagen!  (Jan 9, 2009 | post #1)

Sorry Bob, "The Stalker", keeps chasing you, LGR. Probably just lonely... In any event, we shall be publishing some more news soon on Team U.S.A. soon! Robby has made it to the Top 5 Overall at the Dakar Rally and is representing the United States, and General Motors (Hummer) admirably! Another American, Mark Miller, is also representing the United States well! He races for Volkswagen.  (Jan 9, 2009 | post #8)

CJW: You had every right to refer to "BCB" as an "idiot". .. You see, it all depends on the "truth"; Robby Gordon is not a loser, and Big City Bob - as you accurately referred to him - is an "idiot" for calling him one without his providing any foundation. I don't understand your questions, however, I certainly hope you do not see me as an "authority figure".... We are trying to keep the threads from becoming "dumping grounds" for folks like Big City Bob, who come in and waste time and space and attempt to incite acrymony. Am I partial to Robby Gordon? Absolutely! He is young - by today's standards - and running his own show. He represents NASCAR well by being a driver who's very loyal to the fans. He represents the United States admirably in Mexico, and now in Chile and Argentina. Yep! Robby Gordon is quite an exciting young man. As always, thank you for your comments.  (Jan 6, 2009 | post #16)

As a Topix Editor, I clearly state there should be no "name-calling ". Robby Gordon is not a loser, so I suppose I'm just doing my job....  (Jan 5, 2009 | post #13)

I once was running a 10 km race, and as we went Yby, some people told us: "you're losing, you're losing!" I shot back with: "At least I'm in the race!" and the crowd went crazy with laughter. Bob, I think you drinking too much alcohol. Santa was probably not too generous with you either. Anyone with such an angry disposition is miserable and disgusting... Put down the bottle, get up and take a walk, then look for a job after you go to an A.A. Meeting. You'll feel better about yourself... You're not even in the race - Big City Loser!  (Jan 5, 2009 | post #10)

It's OK Chick, and you are correct... If Bob would get out of the "Big City" and get his hands dirty once and awhile, he would feel a bit better about himself.  (Jan 4, 2009 | post #6)

Yeah, Goast Rider!!! Mark Miller (Volkswagen) is racing as an American, so are Jonah Street and Steve LaRoza, on motorcycles. Jonah finished 5th in the First Stage. As far as Robby being the only American; he surely is representative of the U.S. because he is the only NASCAR regular to compete! Following his promise to start out with a conservative pace, the Monster/Toyo Tire Hummer of Robby Gordon and Andy Grider finished the first stage of the Dakar Rally in 17th place, just 14 minutes 25 seconds behind Stage winner Al Attiyah in his factory BMW. Team U.S.A.'s second Hummer driven by Frenchman Eric Vigoroux finished 26th, 10 minutes 30 seconds behind his teamate Gordon. American motorcycle rider Jonah Street finished an impressive 5th behind Marc Coma. Post your thoughts and opinions on Dakar 2009, or anything related to Team U.S.A.  (Jan 3, 2009 | post #1)

dakar rally - south america - robby gordon

Busy, busy, busy... RGM is now packing their things for South America. The terrain, weather, and often tight and dusty course conditions should be favorable to Robby Gordon and Andy Grider. I hope '09 brings more balance and consistency to RGM now that Toyota and Robby have reunited after many years. I trust Toyota will help the RGM Sprint Cup, and, the SCORE (Baja racing...)teams.  (Dec 23, 2008 | post #1)
