I can somewhat say I agree with lilbit. Take a very long hard look at those who were considered "close" to Mr. Jackson. Outside of his mother, sister Janet (Has her own fortune, never cared for his), and his children, I do see a lot of "I want and or deserve ____." His father for example. I know he probably is grieving in his own way, but the business was all he talked about in any interview. A new label to make money for me. That is what I got. Al Sharpton, thought I found his eulogy in the memorial service to be a rather good one in comparison to his others, just seems to be lingering around for scraps of this and that. Debbie, I do not think she really wants her children. She has not over the last 11 years, why would she now. She is looking at the money angle as well. Who ever has those children, has Michael's estate. At Least until they are adults themselves. I think they are right where they need to be. Cathrin Jackson has always been a level headed person, that seemed more interested in her faith than in the money of the business. She seems more concerned for the well being of the children, not for the monetary gain of having them. If not her, I would have went with Janet, since she could easily afford to raise them, and would give them the same love and care as Cathrine and their father. Most fans are truly devastated. A lot of his family is grieving very hard. I know I have never seen Janet the way she is before, nor can I really say the same for Latoya. I hope for Latoya that she was able to make amends with Michael before he passed. And as for Joe, I think deep down, he knows he will have to answer for what has been done in this life.  (Thursday | post #38)

It was a very strong and emotional service. I thought it was done with great style and class. I feel for Michael's children, and the road that is coming in the future. I send my regards to the family, and to the fans around the world. I listened yesterday to the albums I have. (Thriller forward) Even after the 25+ years of time between then and now, the music is still just as great as it was when I first heard it. His videos have begun a rotation all over again on VH1 and MTV, and the singles are going across the radio, as if they were newer releases. I agree. Janet was very brave in going on stage, and expressing herself as she did. I was glad to see her, and see that though she is still very devastated, that she was able to speak about Michael. She said what she needed to, and was not looking for the fame of it. Her father on the other hand.... The man makes me sicker than sh*t. He not only looks like he is completely happy about this, but he is using it as a tool to get media attention for his next endeavor. Something about rap camp or something like that. His conference today was just as sickening as the one last night at the BET. Honestly, I wonder if the only people devastated by this are his mother, children, and Janet.  (Monday Jun 29 | post #10)

This was in no way confirmed to be happening. In fact it was stated by Joe twice in one conference that there has been no talks of this happening. If there was anyone who should be allowed to pay tribute, it should be his family. They are in fact his family. I got to see Janet on the BET awards last night. In my time as a life long fan, I have never seen her so upset and frail as she was then. But with that she was still very poised and professional. She said what she wanted to say, without sugaring it up in any way. You knew by the end of that statement, that Janet really was close to Michael, and that she is grieving very severely. I do not see what the big deal about a tribute would be. It could also be the rumor springing out from the other tour that was supposed to take place with the Jackson 5 and Janet. Who really knows. Honestly, who really cares about it. Everyone at this time is getting every chance they can to get some type of money off this. Networks, media, newspapers, magazines, everything. Why should the family not do so as well. I do not think Janet, if she was thinking of doing the tribute would even be thinking of it in that manner. She has her own money, and her own business. She has been doing very well on her own so far, why would she need to ride the fame of Michael, when she has not her entire career? And f*ck the Superbowl incident. You know, I am not Wealthy, and I do not have to watch my PR, so I can say as I want.... For Michael... You know I still go with innocent on molestation, it does not fit in many ways, but there is just not the time. BUT perhaps if daddy had let these kids have something of a normal life with interaction with other kids as kids, Michael would probably not be so hung up on children now. Perhaps if Daddy had not been such a ass about them looking so "perfect " (heard it from his own mouth) Michael would not have had the trouble about the vitiligo, and therefor would not have tried so many different things to fix it, thus fucking himself up for good. The surgery on his nose and his cleft in the chin most likely would not have happened. If not for his daddy forcing that they do even better than the last, Michael would ahve been very pleased with everything past Thriller, rather than trying to make something better. He would have realized Thriller is a once in a lifetime thing. If it was support for Michael, rather than exploitation, we would still have the King of Pop. Not what we have now, which is someone of supreme talent unwilling or unable to use it anymore. I will say this much. Beyonce did not get the same life as the Jacksons, and she is better personally for it. I am sure everyone has heard the phrase "Janet is the most normal one" right. I guess time passes for everyone. Those you idolize, and grow up with get to open the doors for the next generation. I am glad the new generation has Beyonce as someone to idol as I do Janet. I could not think of another person who represents what Janet is to us in this/my generation. I never really believed myself to be stuck within a generation of music. But when it concerns certain aspects, I guess I am. I loved B-Day, but the new album really did nothing for me. Some nice tunes, well done, but there was little to no real connection with any of the songs. I hope Janet can return to popular mainstream... I think she is working on it right now. Kind of like Madonna in 97, when she shocked the living shit out of us with Ray of Light. She is one hell of a person, and I am sure she is not done yet.  (May 17, 2009 | post #66)
