And if she doesn't broaden her horizons the best she'll ever do is singing in a bar in Lafayette... (Mar 19, 2008 | post #31)
According to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities: "...making the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts and Alternative Minimum Tax relief permanent would add $4.3 trillion to deficits and debt over just the next ten years (2009-2018), and would substantially worsen the nations already serious long-term fiscal problems." http://www.cbpp.or g/1-28-08tax.htm#_ ftn5 (Mar 13, 2008 | post #85)
What does this mean? How would anyone - regardless of their sexual orientation - "bring" their sexuality to the workplace? (Mar 7, 2008 | post #423)
What does Java Abstract Peripheral Library (JAPL) have to do with anything? (Mar 5, 2008 | post #96)
No...it's because people are still attracted to some of the (arguable) best public schools in the state. We're not dealing with rampant crime (yet), failing public infrastructure, poverty, rapid declines in housing prices, job losses (yet) and things that plague our neighbors in the county directly to our south. Both things are true, yes. And the previous poster (suggesting that there are no two people with identical DNA) was patently wrong. (Feb 18, 2008 | post #37)
Identical twins have identical DNA. (Feb 18, 2008 | post #34)

From Andrew Sullivan: "Christianity , in this view, is simply a faith. Christianism is an ideology, politics, an ism. The distinction between Christian and Christianist echoes the distinction we make between Muslim and Islamist. Muslims are those who follow Islam. Islamists are those who want to wield Islam as a political force and conflate state and mosque. Not all Islamists are violent. Only a tiny few are terrorists. And I should underline that the term Christianist is in no way designed to label people on the religious right as favoring any violence at all. I mean merely by the term Christianist the view that religious faith is so important that it must also have a precise political agenda. It is the belief that religion dictates politics and that politics should dictate the laws for everyone, Christian and non-Christian alike. Thats what I dissent from, and I dissent from it as a Christian. I dissent from the political pollution of sincere, personal faith. I dissent most strongly from the attempt to argue that one party represents God and that the other doesnt. I dissent from having my faith co-opted and wielded by people whose politics I do not share and whose intolerance I abhor. The word Christian belongs to no political party. Its time the quiet majority of believers took it back." (Feb 16, 2008 | post #117)

No, but that's not why we went into Iraq. If you recall, it was about WMDs (there weren't any) and an imminent threat (there wasn't one), the smoking gun of which might be "in the form of a mushroom cloud." (Bush's own words) (Feb 15, 2008 | post #35)
Your assertion that neither Democratic candidate is qualified to lead this nation in a time of war is completely baseless. It's simply your opinion...and there's a saying about opinions. Perhaps we wouldn't be in the mess we're in in Iraq had one of these two - or anyone with half a brain - been in office in 2001. (Feb 13, 2008 | post #11)
I've got a solution for this guy...and it involves only one bullet. (Feb 13, 2008 | post #9)
Just what we need... plow under more natural land and install another obnoxious strip mall. Tenant mix: nail place, sub shop, ice cream shop, cell phone store... same as it ever was... (Feb 13, 2008 | post #5)
We also have a Christian Chamber of Commerce. So much for not using Jesus' name for selfish reasons. (Feb 11, 2008 | post #267)
