'Kill switch' dropped from Vista

I have Vista, I love it. As a person that builds computers, I know both of them very well. XP has the speed and compatibility. Vista has the features and eventually, the security. I will fault Vista for needing such high system requirements. If you don't want to sink in the extra money for a high end system, requesting a computer with XP is the only way to go. Many retailers can still get new XP machines, you just need to ask. MS extended the period of time that they are creating licenses because of the high demand for XP over Vista. The only way they will extend it again is if people still refuse to buy a Vista computer of XP. Buy the XP, request it everytime for as long as you can. If any big box retailers tell you that they can't get it, they are lying, tell them you will go elsewhere to get XP then.  (Dec 6, 2007 | post #21)

Microsoft Kills Off Foul-Mouthed "Santa"

I am not even religious and i 100% agree. I hate Christmas, plain and simple... and does anyone want to know why? Because before December, before Thanksgiving, and even before Halloween in some places... you hear 'Christmas, Christmas, Christmas'. By my calculations, that is 3 months. Does someone honestly want to have something drilled into their head and wallet for 1/4 of their lives? NO!!! It sickens me to walk into stores in November and hear the music, it sickens me to walk into any grocery or retail store and hear the peaople ringing the charity bells in front of the giant pots expecting you to drop your money in there. i purposely tell everyone I know to not get me anything for Christmas. I don't want to contribute to this giant commercial holiday. Christmas has a meaning... stress over buying everyone you know stuff, wait in lines, travel in bad weather to get people the stuff, hassle afterwards trying to return stuff, and then have the economy take a severe dip for 3 months because everyone spent too much money. Yeah, I really hate it that much.  (Dec 6, 2007 | post #8)

Which Browser do you use most?

Other than doing Windows updates, I will not touch IE. Firefox gives me security, compatibility, and the ability to customize with hundreds of add-ons and themes... why would you use IE? Besides... if you look at the core of IE, guess whose fingerprint is all over it? Mozilla... hmmmm....  (Dec 6, 2007 | post #19)

Broncos bring back P Sauerbrun

Punter Todd Sauerbrun agreed to a 1-year free agent contract with the Denver Broncos on Thursday, one day after an arbitrator ruled his contract with New England was void. "We have every expectation he's going to have a huge year and he's going to be playing in the Pro Bowl and hopefully the Super Bowl," agent David Canter told The Associated Press. Canter said he hopes that Sauerbrun will sign a long-term deal later this season to finish his career in Denver. Sauerbrun agreed to a one-year deal with the Broncos earlier this month, but the Patriots matched it through a clause in his contract with New England. Sauerbrun had signed with the Patriots last December and punted in the playoffs. Sauerbrun, with the help of the NFL Players Association, contended that the clause was inappropriate because it was not written separately from the contract itself, a requirement for right-to-match deals. A special master in Boston ruled Wednesday that the Patriots erred, thus freeing Sauerbrun. His deal with Denver was worth more than the $1.395 million he was scheduled to make with the Broncos last year. Sauerbrun started the 2006 season with Denver, but lost his job while serving a four-game suspension for using the banned dietary supplement ephedra. Sauerbrun has a career punting average of 44 yards, with a net average of 36. He made the Pro Bowl three straight times, between 2001 and 2003, when he was with the Carolina Panthers. Sauerbrun was in route to Denver and was expected to sign the contract on Friday, Canter said.  (Apr 20, 2007 | post #1)

Jenkins could land in Denver

The only thing that is bad about him is in 2004 he suffered a shoulder injury, and he spent the latter half of the season on IR. Then in the first game of 2005 he tore his ACL. Other than that, he would be a solid player to add.  (Apr 17, 2007 | post #5)
