Panhand for prayers

I'm all for freedom of speech and religon.... but the pan-handling for prayers and blessing at the traffic lights across from Baybrook Mall on Bay Area Blvd is getting WAY outta hand. There is a law against this isn't there? They have been there everyday for the las 2 months I've been living out here..except on the weekend and oh yeah Veterans day... What does Gods work take these days off to ??? Panhandling plain.....and simple  (Nov 14, 2008 | post #1)

Yeah would have been nice to see it last, but come on, reality check here, she WAS a PRINCESS…had this been a common woman, things “might” have been different wouldn’t you agree?  (Apr 7, 2008 | post #1367)

No one can guarantee that. Sure they may become Americanized to a degree, but that doesn’t mean for certain they will just give up their traditions, their culture just cause there in America now. I’ve met a lot of different people from all over the world (thanks to the military) in different countries. Not visiting but actually living there for a couple of years. To be honest they have more belief in their traditions and culture, than you give them credit for. Sure they like being here, things here are a lot better here than in some of the countries over seas. I work with a gentleman who is married to a woman who is Thai, she’s been here since she was 16, they got married when she was 24, she still to this day goes to Wat (that’s temple for those that don’t know), every Wednesday and Sunday, and they eat traditional food 5 times a week. They have 2 children together, and they are brought up to speak not only English, but Thai as well. She works part time, but for the most part is a stay home mom. It’s this traditional value that a lot more American men are seeking. They also have been married 11 years. Yes I can say I kinda know him well, we served together in the military. I’ll agree to a point, yes age somewhat has some to do with it, but it also has the do with the culture you’re brought up in. To say there’s a chance she “might” become more American, and forget her Russian culture, I would agree with, but guarantee?  (Apr 7, 2008 | post #1365)
