Why are Oregonians so afraid of creating jobs in their state? If there were jobs there still we might move back home where we belong. Let industry grow and revitalize the state.  (Feb 25, 2014 | post #1)

That is just the way it is there everyone is better than everyone else, or so they think. Just ignore them and go on. They won't change no matter what. If they treat you like you are not very smart it's because they really don't know the answer and it makes them feel smarter to out someone down. It's ok. Hang in there.  (Feb 24, 2014 | post #4)

Editorial Agenda 2014: Methanol's promise in the lower Co...

Good idea if you ask me. The jobs, the pay and the benefits are great. Maybe we could move back hime from down south. My husband has worked in this business for years. It is a safe job and lucritive to surrounding areas.  (Feb 17, 2014 | post #1)

Port of St. Helens gives OK to methanol plant lease optio...

The boost to the economy would be excellent for Columbia County. I fail to understand such an opposition to growing and family income. The natural gas industry pays well and provides good jobs that can be enjoyable to locals. My husband works with natural gas processing and it is a great job. I don't know about the pay the employees would get there but my husband making thirty dollars an hour. Methane gas by the time it for to the st Helens sight would be cleaned up and have a very low level of incident. At least think hard about what you would be losing should you reject it.  (Feb 17, 2014 | post #1)

racist george west

Some people are racist but it goes both ways. Most everyone gets along just fine. There are great people in George West, but there are those that really should be avoided. Avoided not due to race but attitude. So sad, could be a wonderful place to live if more people took pride in themselves and relearned to love.  (Feb 17, 2014 | post #3)

I am sorry to say that there is a lot of "rude" in George West. My family lived there a long time and found that angry people far outweigh the nice people. I was never able to find a way to understand the anger. I hope that it gets better for you. Your kids deserve better and so does George West. I really did feel at home there, just didn't like the attitude.  (Feb 17, 2014 | post #2)

bottom line

That's just Live Oak County as a whole. They spend all their time yapping their mouths about things that they know nothing about.  (Jan 7, 2014 | post #16)

Who is in charge?

Try going to the courthouse it's just as bad. Whomever you are I'm sure they will be gossiping about you.  (Oct 25, 2013 | post #19)

Gardens?

Smish It would be wise to have a green house and heat for the winter. It can get down to thirty below zero there. It did one you when I lived there. I spent my childhood there. Gardens are a possibility but it has to be fast growing stuff. I grew tomatoes and beans. Peas and things like that. Corn didn't stand a chance cause the season is usually not long enough. You have to plant on mid to late June and harvest before mid September. If you plant broccoli and cabbage, cauliflower and such in July you can get a get a crop before it gets too cold. If you had a green house you could have some good vegetables year round. That's what I would do. Hope that helps.  (Sep 30, 2013 | post #3)

I'm willing to bet the show won't be about the petty things that go on in George West. The show will be about the oilfield.  (Sep 8, 2013 | post #6)
