Can Anti-depressants Cause Chronic Depression?

I have been on many different anti-depressants for a very long time...I have tried many times to go off the meds... I have a very hard time knowing whether I am experiencing withdrawal effects or a return of depression...It makes me wonder if these drugs are setting up a pattern of a chronic condition... Is there anyone out there that wonders about this or am I alone..  (Aug 18, 2011 | post #1)

Celexa Poop--out

Over the years I have been on prozac, zoloft, and paxil for depression....they all eventually pooped out on me. I was jumping from one to the next when the drug stopped working... I have been on celexa now for about 6 years... It started out at 20 and it worked ok..... After a period of time it wasn't working as well so it was decided to go to I want to lower it to 20 and the withdrawal is a big problem now that more is known about stopping and starting anti-depressants..  (Jul 18, 2011 | post #1)

Medical Doctors Taking an SSRI

Many medical doctors are taking an SSRI for depression. I am wondering if they know some of the problems about withdrawing from an anti-depressant. My psychoanalyst(MD) had no idea about the dangers of sudden withdrawal.  (Jul 9, 2011 | post #1)
